I stayed in the same room on the second floor for three non-consecutive nights during an 11-day trip to Ecuador. The spacious wood themed room featured a large, flatscreen television and (as would be expected in an urban setting) a strong wifi signal. The neighborhood unlike other places I’ve stayed in Quito seemed very quiet. Unlike a few members of my group, I did not experience any difficulties with the hot water supply. The choices for the breakfast buffet were adequate, and the staff at the front desk helpful and very accommodating.

I had 2 weeks of incredible time in Quito. We stayed at Fenix hotel. The hotel is super nice with very friendly and caring staffs. The rooms are very clean and they clean them everyday. The food is so delicious. The staff is very nice, and they have great hospitality and attitude. I recommend Fenix Hotel to everyone who plans to travel to Quito.

Great Hotel. Staff very friendly. Remodeling process during my stay but didnt affect at all the service. Great food in the restaurant with a great feeling. Rooms are very spacious with quality accomodations. LOVED the tub in the bathrooms, wife did not want to leave.

The service was very pleasant and the room was extremely clean. The room was larger than most hotel rooms, the beds were comfortable and it was an overall great place. The traffic outside during the day is heavy but quiet at night and we heard no sirens during the time we were there.

just stayed here for a week with a medical mission group as it is across from the military hosp and the hotel was very good. great service and very friendly staff. check room before you settle in--there were a few rooms that were musty and not remodeled yet but most were great. walkng distance to nice park with art on weekends and only a few dollars taxi ride to plaza foce and old town. includes the comforts like hot water, internet, refrig, resturant with good food etc

I was very surprised by how large the rooms in this hotel were! There was plenty of storage space and the rooms were comfortable and clean. The area just outside of the hotel was not always the nicest, however, the concierge were quick to call taxis for us and were always very helpful in providing tips for travel around Quito. The staff were excellent and I was very impressed by the hotel overall!

Positives: Nice rooms, very spacious, clean bathrooms, nice front-desk people, bottled water, good breakfast, secure
Negatives: Be prepared to hoist suitcases up a few steps to get to sections 8 & 9; rock-hard beds, worse for king-size than queens...spent two nights here coming and going on a trip to Ecuador, didn't get much sleep on king-sized bed; no air-conditioning (typical of the area climate), so ventilation is from opening windows--lots of street noise (bring earplugs)

This hotel is in a convenient location to the old city and the artesian market. A generous breakfast buffet is included with the room. There is a water bottle refilling station in the lobby. The rooms are clean and roomy. There is no AC or heat, but with the climate they are not needed. The street can be noisy at night and heard only with the windows open.

Stayed at Hotel Barnard while attending a conference at the Hilton Colon located about a mile or so away. The affordable room rate more than made up for the15 minute walk to the conference. The double-bedded room was clean and very large with plenty of space for luggage and moving about the room. Nice picture windows with view of city and surrounding hills. Staff was VERY helpful for all of our requests - from directions, to calling taxis, changing departure date, etc. Hotel has attractive dining room with excellent dinner menu. Computer and Wi-Fi available for use. Spa services available - but not used. Airport pick-up is available if needed. Highly recommend this hotel - excellent value. Only negative is the very busy road in front of the hotel - but, traffic is very heavy throughout entire city so can not fault hotel for this.
