It's easy these days to put eco in the booking information, but this is the real deal. The concept has been crafted by the people to provide all the comfort you really require with a love and respect for this stunning and beautiful place. The guides are expert; the staff are friendly and helpful and the place is stunningly peaceful.... More

My husband and I stayed at the Santa Lucia Ecolodge for 2 nights - it was the best part of our already excellent trip to Ecuador. I somehow stumbled on this location while searching for an off-the-beaten path lodge in the Ecuadorean Cloud Forest. The 2.5 km hike uphill to the lodge was definitely worth the effort. The lodge itself... More

I could have never planned a more perfect place to spend time. We arrived with very few expectations but we left feeling like part of the family. The hiking access and wilderness feel is what attracted us. The trails, ecosystem, views and wildlife were amazing but the people and the hospitality put it over the top! The accommodations and food... More

We were greeted at the lodge with a refreshing drink, smile and a hug, which was very welcome after the walk up the mountain. The rooms were beautiful and there was a variety of sizes all with amazing views. The dining room was just outstanding and a very suitable place for yoga. Even with a group of us staying together... Our family of four (with a 4 year old and near 2 year old in tow) just had the honor and privilege to spend five nights at the Santa Lucia Cloud Forest Reserve and what an amazing experience we had. We have stayed at many so called “eco-lodges” over the years but this was the first that truly came the... More

We came here as part of a university research module where we carried out our own projects. We stayed in the lodge in rooms of 2, 4 and 8 bedrooms. It's hard to imagine how they built the cabins and lodge at such high altitude and only using materials which surround it. It was amazing in the mornings and evenings... More

It is hard to imagine how they managed to built such lovely cabins given the approx 400m altitude everything needs to come up by mule or be carried by hand. When the cloud clears, the view from the cabin and from the lodge is awe inspiring. Be prepared for no power in cabins - torch or candlelight after dark. This... More

We visited the Santa Lucia Cloud Forest Reserve (80 km NW of Quito) in March 2015, which was exactly the WRONG time to try to see birds, hike or stay dry. Despite this, the private cottages are AMAZING -- hand built, with beautiful wood -- hard to believe all the work that had to have gone into the construction. Likewise,... More
