The level of friendly service at every turn, along with fantastic food options including many vegan choices, as well as clean and spacious rooms with everything we needed, is the reason for the title of this review. With many places having power outages, we initially chose here because they have backup generators for anytime the city cut the power. When the power went out it was only for under a minute. We also appreciated that all staff, even in the restaurants, spoke English. The breakfast buffet was included and absolutely incredible with many vegan options which we appreciated. We ate at the Japanese restaurant on the ground 3 times and you get a discount when staying at the hotel. The service there was incredible along with the food and again, many vegan choices. They stayed open until 11pm which was incredible for passengers arriving on later flights. We also are one night at the bar - the vegetable spring rolls were fantastic and the service again was unmatched. The wifi didn't work as well as expected in the room we were in, but there was also a strong cell signal. The hotel had so many comfortable areas to hang out again and we hope to visit again next year with our group.

In a pretty run down city, this hotel is a beacon of modernity and comfort. The lobby is lovely with huge vases of gorgeous roses and a courteous, helpful desk staff.

Honestly, the breakfast is a good reason to stay here even if you don't love the room.
The only problem we had, and it wasn't insignificant, was with the toilet. We stayed on two occasions during our time in Ecuador. In our first room, we found it very difficult to flush the toilet. The mechanism is awkward and required physical strength to operate. Very odd. During our second stay, the toilet flusher was a little less difficult to operate, though still awkward, and didn't flush completely. In the morning the toilet overflowed and flooded the bathroom. Luckily, maintenance responded promptly and then housekeeping came to clean the floor. A hotel of this quality should not have this problem. The toilets outside the dining room had more standard flush mechanisms which were easy to operate.

On arrival, the reception staff were very welcoming, helpful and professional. The room was excellent - spacious and plenty room for team meetings. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the hotel was exceptional. The "Egg Chef" was first class - no complaints whatsoever. Dinner was well prepared and presented. The only area needing some attention, was the shower in the room - it could be doing with upgrading but that apart, great place to stay in Quito.

We had executive privileges with the room that we were in so we could go to the top floor executive lounge and eat and drink for free. They offered plenty of food, even desserts in a buffet style setting. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was amazing- so huge and so much food to choose from. The servers were very nice. We walked to a grocery store a block away but stayed in the hotel when we weren't on our city tour. My husband used the pool and said it was cool that you could swim from inside to outside. Many of the workers there seemed like they felt big brother was watching them all the time-they didn't seem relaxed in their jobs. They seemed to be looking over their shoulder like they were afraid they were constantly being critiqued. The facility was very clean and beautiful. Great to get Muno tea bags to drink every day for the altitude sickness. We added a bag to our coffee and it was so helpful.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights as part of a Smithsonian tour. Our 7th floor room was spacious and clean. The glass elevators often had views of a stunning snow capped volcano. Carlos from the bell staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool, the beautiful roses in the lobby, and the outdoor courtyard. The location was convenient because we were a short walk from a large Supermaxi grocery store where we purchased coffee, chocolate bars and wine. Attached to the hotel is a small mall with a deli and a sports bar. We ate at the sports bar twice and especially enjoyed watching soccer with the locals. Ii would be glad to stay at the Swissotel Quito if I ever return to the area. It was wonderful.

Although a little bit outdated ,the swissotel Quito provides clean and confortable rooms,a big fitness center and a large indoor pool (water temperature 30’C,)with an outdoor extension in the patio. All These being used by outside members so don’t expect to be alone . Breakfast buffet is great,although served in a very noisy place. The big downside is the noise coming up from the avenue traffic ,poor window soundproofing,and from the next room bathroom (shower) ,poor insulation again.
