Nestled in Quito, Mercure Alameda delights numerous guests with its charming atmosphere, underscored by professional service and quaint decor. The rooms are a topic of mixed reviews; they are spacious and comfortable, yet some guests have noted maintenance shortcomings and an absence of expected amenities. While the service garners acclaim for its attentiveness and friendliness, occasional inefficiencies have been pointed out.
Regarding value, additional costs at facilities like the spa have caused some discontent, despite overall satisfaction. The cleanliness of the hotel consistently earns praise, though opinions on the breakfast and some amenities suggest room for improvement.

The hotel's location is good. It is close to the markets, which are worth visiting. The room is clean, and the services are very efficient.
During our stay, we had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. We noticed that the restaurant is certified to HACCP (food hygiene), and the kitchen team members demonstrated good hygiene practices.
There is only one tiny thing: the waiter at dinner time may be a part-time student or intern. The services and response may not be skilled.
However, we concluded that we happy during our stay.

stayed here for 3 nights while on a tour the rooms where bright and large with all that you need , the restaurant was reasonable in price and good portions the breakfast buffet was ok, we didn't walk around much as the hotel suited our needs ,staff spoke very good English . There seems to be older and updated rooms we stayed in both and where as good as each other toiletries were supplied the showers had good pressure and plenty of hot water , i would suggest a higher floor room as there were parades right outside the hotel which made a bit of noise so the higher you are the quieter it will be . if i went to this area again this hotel would be a good choice

This was the best hotel of our three weeks in South America, which included seven other hotels. Check in was smooth and our room included tea/coffee facilities and a safe. We also had a large sitting room area. The attached restaurant served a wonderful buffet breakfast with omelettes cooked to order. We also ate dinner in the same place where unfortunately the service was a little on the slow side. There is a in house bakery which serves a wonderful selection of cakes and pastries at very reasonable prices. We did not try the hotel bar. On the top of the hotel is the pool, gym and sauna all with a view of Quito. We took a taxi to the Teleferico which cost only $7, a 5 minute walk from the hotel is El Ejido park which is worth a visit.

The hotel was okay - the bathroom sink barely drained, beds are not comfortable, very noisy, grimy bathroom and we had some bugs in our room. I wouldn’t normally complain about this stuff because I stay in hotels A LOT and I’m not hard to please however, I went to use the spa for the third time in my stay and this put me over the edge. We were stopped at the door and told we can’t access the spa without wearing a shower/bathing cap. If we “didn’t bring one” we could buy one for $5USD in cash. No one, including myself, that I know staying here had been asked to wear one and we’d been here 3 nights. (A group of 12 of us)
The woman at the counter wouldn’t let us in without my husband and I buying shower caps. The saving grace to this hotel was the nice spa so beware - this spa isn’t included. It’s included only if you “bring a shower cap” or buy a cap. It’s so called hotel policy but isn’t included anywhere (no one mentions it in our check in, when we went the 2 days prior nor is it indicated online) disappointing and kind of sus

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Mercure Alameda for three nights in October and November and had a lovely time. The hotel personnel are extremely friendly; the hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of a large market; our room was large and very comfortable (and, considering the hotel's location, we were surprised there was no room noise, even with the window open); and the one buffet dinner we had and our breakfasts were wonderful, offering a variety of delicious foods. I would definitely stay here again.

Let me preface that we came with Gate 1 tour group
Location: located in the heart of the city. We were there on a holiday so not a lot of shops open or people . Lots of graffiti around us though. We were told not to walk around at night.
Food: we just had breakfast which was a buffet but the quality and taste were poor. They had runny scrambled eggs, little sausages, local rice and stew, some fresh fruit. Coffee was from a machine and not great. Because breakfast was so bad we didn’t try any other meals. There was a bar that looked decent.
Service: staff seemed friendly enough. But don’t let the guy out front get you a “taxi” he charges more. Have the front desk call one that has a meter. There’s no rideshare. They use US dollars and a ready can get you most places for $2-3
Accommodations: equivalent to a 3 star or Embassy suites in the US . Even as a couple most rooms are twin beds. Tiny bathroom with thin hard towels. A tiny shampoo and conditioner and soap that don’t lather. Bring your own. Beds were ok. There is a Hair dryer in the bathroom. Plugs were compatible to US. The internet was also decent.

Ecuador, famous particularly for three things, the Equator Line, the Amazon and Galápagos Islands. An annoying one stop flight from Cusco (City in neighbouring Perù) to Quito followed by an hour long transfer from the airport found us in the new part of Quito's City Centre. Our itinerary meant that we would staying twice at the Mercure Alameda Quito.
Our rooms were both very, very comfortable with a king sized bed, entrance hall, plenty of storage/wardrobe space and a three piece bathroom set. The second room had a lounge that had a greater square footage than my own home; finished off with a balcony that overlooked the intersection, Ideal for exploring Quito.
Service at the hotel exceptionally good with staff members still following Covid-19 rules. The hotel restaurant served a variety of dishes that on the face of it seemed familiar but were executed with a South American twist. An additional spice here and there or a vegetable better known in the Caribbean than in Europe ensured that the word insipid couldn't be used in the same sentence. The restaurant is certainly value for money.
The rooftop spa and fitness rooms are health club standard with a great panoramic view of the city.
Visiting the old town can be achieved by taxi, roughly $3 to ÂŁ5 USD, or by a twenty-something minute walk. However you travel to the old town make sure that you give it a try. The Spanish influence is ever present again with a Latin American twist that is very aesthetically pleasing.
The Middle of the World City is about an hours drive from the hotel and surely is part of any visitor's plans.
Overall a great hotel that is highly recommended.

The Mercure is an unassuming building, but is a very impressive property. The guest room was very large, especially for an urban hotel, although the bathroom is small and only had a shower. The decor and furnishings were new, smelling like they had just been installed. There’s a terrific fitness center with panoramic views of Quito, and a nice spa. The buffet breakfast was also quite good and high quality (fresh-squeezed juice is a good signal) and had different items each day, even including different juice and yogurt flavors. The absence of climate controls and hard mattress were not ideal, but it’s a foreign country and at least the lack of climate control was expected.

Quito was a first time destination for us and this hotel was a great choice for us. It feels centrally located to a lot of food and parks, and allows for a nice walk during the day to the city center or towards the more nightlife streets of the city.
The breakfast was very good, with a mix of local and western foods and a rotating fresh juice with an orange juice. It helped the picky eaters in our family to start the day off full, even if the rest of day didn't go their way. Ice cream in the evening was a big hit too :-D
Service wise, Santiago the bellhop at the front was phenomenal, helping us figure out the best ways to spend our days and helping us out whenever he could. One of his recommendations was a driver named Rene who was also great and took us to many destinations, explaining the history and importance to where we were, and what else we could see. He became an extra member of our family trip whenever we needed someone to show us around.
Also, the pool and spa were very enjoyable too. The day pass seems quite fair for the spa, sauna, steam room and biothermal showers which prompted squeals when we turned them on!
The city has tons of great things to do, and we didn't even get to the Amazon and still felt totally full in the trip, with our 4 day excursion to Galapagos too. Highly recommend Quito and this hotel!

This is a nice hotel conveniently located. Beds were good. Drinking water was conveniently located by elevators. Each room has a safe. BE SURE TO USE IT FOR ALL VALUABLES. I had a small tablet which I forgot to lock up and it was taken. I did report this and the staff was quired, but noone admitted to taking it. The breakfast buffet is very good. The highly rated exercise area on the top floor is closed on Monday--my only free day so I was unable to use it. The staff was very helpful getting reliable taxi or Uber which were reasonably priced.
