Outstanding staff and attention to details. Room was very beautiful, with high ceiling, marble covered bathroom, etc. Welcomed by a hand written note, flowers and fruits in the room. Great view from terrace. Excellent breakfast.

We stopped in Quito for 1 night on the way to the Galapagos. The Case Gangotena hotel is in a perfect location in the old town allowing for quick visits to all the best spots in Quito. The rooms are large, the bathrooms exquisite. High tea is not to be missed!! There is a rooftop for a bird's eye view of the city too. Service is excellent and personal. The food in the restaurant for dinner is also very good. The hotel is simply PERFECT!!!

The other reviews say it all. We were overwhelmed by the graciousness of the staff. They really made us feel welcome and enquired after my welfare as I tend to suffer from altitude sickness. The building has been renovated with great style and the rooms delightfully decorated with the plate of local fruit and little goodies left at night. The food was delicious and the breakfast spread was a complete work of art. It was a wonderful beginning to our holiday in Ecuador. Our greates regret was that we weren't staying longer in this superb hotel.

The Casa Gangotena is absolutely beautiful. We checked in for two nights in December after a four day Rainforest Tour and we felt like we had reached an oasis in the desert. We were given the one of the two Terrace rooms with access to a spectacular panoramic view of Plaza San Francisco and surrounding area from the third floor balcony. We also had a small balcony directly off our room, which was great for morning coffee (the best coffee we had while in Ecuador) and a nice view of El Panecillo. The room is well appointed with bathrobes, slippers and amenities. The marble bathroom with the soaker tub and stand alone shower is luxurious. A plate of local fruit awaited us along with a little pamphlet of what the fruit was and how to eat it. A nice touch. Two bottles of
