Excellent location in the heart of everything, comfortable room and super friendly staff and owner. I had a flight at 1:30 AM and owner woke up at midnight to make me a breakfast. Special place for German speaking tourists. Thank you

I stayed at Hostal Zentrum 3 times during my 2-week visit to Ecuador, for a total of 7 nights. The Hostal is well located near restaurants, banks, the handcraft market and is an easy walk to parks and the centro histórico. Breakfasts are abundant and made to order. Gerd and Frank are excellent hosts. The Hostal offers a variety of... More

We stayed for a number of nights at Hostal Zentrum and have a fondness for the quirky place. Gerd and Frank are wonderfully helpful, the breakfast is generous and filling, the location very good for a number of fine restaurants, and the price was right. But, be warned, this place looks like it hasn't been updated in many, many years.... More

Great Hotel in centro of Quito. Easy walk to Mariscal and centro historico. The owner is a extremly welcoming guy. Huge breakfast with everything you wish. Parking possible if you need. Everything is clean. The house is very charmante, book exchange also possible.

For 2 weeks, the Hostal Zentrum was the base of myself and more 24 people from my mountaineering club. It is very clean, comfortable rooms, good breakfast, good service and excellent location. The Hostal is runned by Guerd, very efficient and perfectionist, but a bit irritable sometimes, and Frank very pleasant and always willing to help. Excellent.

On first approach, you might think Quito is an inexpensive city to visit - and mostly you'd be right. Taxis are well underpriced, food is predominantly low cost, and attraction admissions can be next to non-existent. But a cursory look at hotel prices can uncover one glaring hole in this assumption. If you want to stay somewhere decent, Quito can... More

My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at the Hostal Zentrum. I agree with many of the other reviews on here-- the location is one of the great selling points about this place. It's so peaceful and quiet, and yet you can walk for a few mere minutes and find yourself in the Mariscal. It's very safe-- the... More

The Hostal has an excellent location in the center of Mariscal while being calm due to the location in a small side street as well as the beauiful green garden. Rooms are large, clean, and some of them have special featrures such as a fire place. The service in the Hostal is great and includes not only a very good... More

We were swayed by the great reviews to stay here. We were quite disappointed. Our room was cheap but really tiny and dark. Other rooms were much bigger but also much more expensive. We were the only guests and it felt very quiet in a 40 bed Hostal. So no one else was there to talk to.There was nothing bright,... More

My son and I stayed here on our first night in Quito. It is a really beautiful hostal with Frank and Gerd who are very helpful and attentive. We arrived at 1am and were let into the gate and given the option of two different rooms. We paid $55/night for a very spacious room that felt more like a suite.... More
