A historical boutique hotel, quaint and comfy. Actually it looks like a museum and an art gallery at the same time. But it is the staff that is really amazing - you are treated like royalty. They go beyond the call of duty to make you feel happy and completely at home. Wonderful breakfast (don't miss the hot chocolate).

We stayed in the Deluxe room on the ground floor. Stunningly beautiful room filled with art and antiques. Our 2 year old has never had it so good! The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Location was an easy walk to the main attractions in the old town. Would strongly recommend to couples.

Historic house, good location, kind and helpful staffs, and most of all, the place was an art museum and boutique hotel in one,it was an amazing experience to sleep in a room with archaic furnitures and art collections. And its small restaurant was also nice and had a good view of Quito historic center.

This is part art museum, part historic home, part hotel. There is art work, antiques, tapestries everywhere. Grand rooms are available to sit and relax with a drink by the fire. There are little nooks and crannies between grand rooms. When not occupied by the art, the details of the building's architecture catch your attention. But more than anything, the...

Every place in this building is full with antiques. Our room has view at Panacillo. The hotel staff very helpful (Augusto and Marilena, also the others).Very good location, close to many places in Centro istorico and La rotonda (many restaurants area). Location is quiet. They have transportation to/from airport (extra cost), and the driver/guide Giovanny is such nice, accommodating person...

The Hotel Casa San Marcos is probably the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in. It is filled with amazing art and antiques with several rooms dedicated as areas to lounge and relax. I felt that I had been transported back to a different era. We stayed in the Pancillo Deluxe. The room was comfortable and well equipped with great...

Casa San Marcos is my favorite Quito hotel. It is a crazy hodgepodge of stuff and styles which stays comfortably away from tacky or cheesy though it may push the boundaries of your taste. It is easy to sense the owner's lifetime love of art and antiques when viewing this eclectic place. I really appreciated its vibrancy. The staff was...

Casa San Marcos, a house of treasures Publicado el 10/Noviembre/2011 | 14:51By LANCE BRASHEAR on the Miami HeraldCasa San Marcos - a boutique hotel along what is slowly becoming a cultural corridor in central Quito - was, until recently, a house obscured by time. But the passage of time has a way of not just hiding treasures, but also revealing them when the right person comes along. The name Jose Jaime Ortiz was all but lost as the architect of Casa San Marcos until archives discovered in recent years revealed the hand behind the craftsmanship. Ortiz is now recognized as one of Quito's most formidable architects from the turn of the 18th century and is credited with a dozen structures in Quito including the El Sagrario Church, the reconstruction of La Merced Church, and the tower of Santo Domingo Church. ... more   less
