Revolution is not a party hostel. If you're looking for a party hostel, La Mariscal area is better for you. But if you're looking for a hostel with a great community vibe, good clean dorms, a happy hour for a few drinks and a common area, in a great location (close to Old Town, close to the bus heading up... Most comfortable beds I have ever seen in a hostel, fast internet (I was even able to stream sports), cool rooftop terrace where you can enjoy playing the guitar they have there. Most importantly: Sandra, the owner, is really friendly, but also up for a heated discussion if you prefer that :).

I ended up staying at this hostel on 3 separate occasions and was very sad to leave when I did finally move on. It's by far the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in, especially the kitchen, which although I can't cook to save my life, was very well equipped and organised. The beds are super comfy and make you feel... More

This was the best hostel I've ever stayed at. Always clean, plenty of hot water, comfortable beds, great wifi. The owner is awesome, super helpful and friendly, knows a lot about things to do (and not to do). Great location, right near Parque La Alameda, a nice place to hang out and relax before checking out the Old Town. Highly... More

From the outset, being greeted by name when the door was answered, this place was friendly and social. Which is not always the case when you are 40 somethings. We stayed 2 nights in a private room, and loved the well equipped kitchen, social happy hour and cleanliness. One of the best places, we stayed in South America. Recommended.

I stayed here for 3 nights - one in a shared dorm and two in a private room. This is the cleanest hostel I have ever stayed in and the owner, Sandra, is extremely helpful and knowledeable. The showers have hot water, the wifi works well, the kitchen is large and well-stocked, the beds are comfy and nights are quiet... More

Stayed for 2 nights in a private room, was amazed at how clean everything was all the time. The large kitchen has everything you need for cooking. Chill out room, massive TV in the dining room. Wifi is quick and works everywhere. Comfortable beds, great location - quiet but only 10 minute walk from the centre of town. The staff... More

The hostel itself is grand - rooms are clean, wifi is decent and good kitchen even if it is covered with signs threatening to charge you if you fail to wash and dry up properly (which undoubtedly keeps things clean). If you are a fan of such rules stay here, if you're not then don't. Staff could be friendlier. I... More

Stayed here for a few nights over New Years and found it to be a really cool little hostel! Big clean kitchen, friendly staff who are more than helpful with directions etc and comfy beds! (Always nice as a backpacker) Defiantly enjoyed our stay!

My girlfriend and I staid in Hostel Revolution in the beginning of our trip through Equador, and returned at the end of the trip. It's well located between the old center and the new center. We staid in a double room. There are only shared bathrooms, but they are by far the cleanest I've seen in Equador (and elsewhere for... More
