I liked it here. Met some cool people. And its laid back. The outside courtyard is nice and we had a spacious room at the top. Both ladies (Alena and Gloria) were always so helpful and friendly. Breakfast always tasty. Downside is the noise. My goodness. The 2 young girls that live there make a lot of noise in the... More

I arrived to Aleida's Hostal and I felt like I was extended family. I was greeted with open arms and all of the guest there were welcoming. If your looking for a high end place that feels like a luxury hotel, than this is not your place. However, I could assure you that this hostal has all the basics needed... More

Aleida's hostal has a great location, close to la Mariscal, surrounded by great restaurants. The rooms are nice and clean and the breakfast great! But most of all, Elena, who runs the place, is the warmest and most helpful person you'll meet. She makes you feel right at home and takes amazing care of you. We will most definitely go... More

Quito was the first stop on our backpacking trip throuth S.A. We booked 3 nights at the hostel from home after reading great things in Lonely Planet, and we are soo glad we did! Elena (the owner and your new best friend) stayed awake til midnight (when we flew in) to greet us at the door. The environment is very... More

It is the first place my boyfriend and i stayed for 2 nights arriving in Quito and we came back at the end of our trip for 3 nights. We couldn't have picked a better place to start our journey. Elena welcomed us as if we were family and that was warm and reassuring. The breakfast tasted very good. Elena... More

Elana, the owner, is definitely the main reason this Hostel gets such good ratings. She is a warm and wonderful person and works very hard to make sure your stay is comfortable. That said, I found our room (number 13) to be very average. It was small, the bathroom was so cramped that the toilet was almost directly under the... More

My friend and I stayed here 2 nights and then came back for another 2 nights a week later. Elena was so welcoming and lovely! Lots for breakfast and it was delicious. Elena was very accommodating when we arrived late and didn't ever mind us bothering her! Taxi's are very cheap to get to places - Elena is always happy... More

My wife and I stayed here on 2 occasions over a one week span. Both times were amazing. Elena, the manager is very accommodating and is almost like having a mother there. Breakfast every morning was perfect and she was helpful in arranging rides anywhere we needed. The hostal is also located nicely, in a safe area and walking distance... More

I was in Ecuador doing research, and had to come and go from Quito several times. I stayed at Aleida's every time I was in Quito. What a great experience! When I arrived in Quito Elena arranged for a taxi to bring me from the airport, and even though I arrived at 1 am, Elena met me at the door... More

Elena showed sincere gratitude and helpfulness with her guests. Her place is tidy and well kept. We spent $12/night which is very impressive considering how close we were to some main streets on Quito and Plaza Foch as well. If you're trying to stay somewhere in downtown Quito this hostal is great. But if you're trying to get rowdy, this... More
