The hotel was very old and while breakfast was okay, the people were amazing , friendly and the bar had great views. Beds in room were a little worn, and the hotel while vintage, needs a renovation. While we had fun and enjoyed the staff, it probably wasn't worth the money that we spent.

Received great service and info from the front desk. Very old boutique Hotel and interesting. Room was fine , just the bathroom was down a spiral staircase. We were told about the delay in the hot water coming to the bathroom which is fine but concerned about the wastage of water while waiting. Beautiful terrace for anytime drinks......... Plenty of... The hotel is in an old mansion set on a hillside overlooking the bay and is centrally located. It is very close to Ascensor Concepcion which takes to the flat part of Valparaiso and you are basically a five minute walk from Plaza Sotomayor when you use the furnicular which costs around $.50 US. The room was nice sized and... More

A really lovely old building full of original features and very homely. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely outdoor terrace, great for enjoying some Pisco Sours. Lots of interesting arty shops and good restaurants nearby as well as furnicular and a couple of the best house museums. Highly recommended.

It's been years since we went to this hotel but it still stands out as one of the nicest small hotels I've ever been in mostly because it truly allows you to experience what Valparaiso must have been during the hey dey. We stayed there for two nights, and booked more than a year in advance so we could get one of their superior rooms with a balcony overlooking the bay. Nice interior, but could use a little renovation as this is a very old house. But all in all we were happy with our stay. The free was only working in... More

The location on Cerro Conception close to the funicular is excellent. You can easily explore the nearby streets with their graffitis, restaurants and cafes. The view from our balcony overlooking the bay was beautiful. We loved the charm of the old house, it is wonderful to see that there are still hotels that retain the feeling of the old glamour.... This hotel is an old mansion converted into a well located boutique hotel. Situated in the old town, it's very convenient for restaurants and bars and exploration of the historical centre of this colourful town. As other reviewers have said, this place isn't for folk with impaired mobility or maybe families with small children. Stairs are very steep and narrow... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel is the fruit of lengthy restoration work to recover one of the homes of greatest cultural value in the hills of Valparaiso, measuring more than 11,000 square feet. This house was built by European immigrants circa 1870. The imposing building, now transformed into a boutique hotel, uniquely portrays, through its welcoming setting, the lifestyles of the generations of families that lived on the hill. The house’s architecture takes you back in time to the mode of life at the end of the 19th century. Luxury refurbishings concordant to the comforts of a five-star hotel interweave discreetly throughout the patrimonial air in the house, creating just the right cross between tradition and modernness. ... more   less
