The building is beautiful, the room quiet and airy, the location of the hotel is great and the staff were unfailingly kind and helpful. It was a pleasure to spend a week here. Very highly recommended!

This small hotel combines the charm of an elegant late 19th century house with the comfort of modernized windows and bathroom. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful, the service is superb. Excellent breakfast in a very pretty setting. The location is on one of the nicest hills of the city, very close to interesting sites such as the Museo... More

Loved this hotel, a great little garden at the front to sit in the sun or shade after a day around town. Comfortable, traditional bedrooms, love all the antique bits around eg old hats on a hall stand! A little roof terrace to get some good views and photos. Breakfast was special, tables laid out with beautifully prepared fruits, breads... More

We stayed in February, 2016, before going on a cruise. Hector was a delightful host and made sure our visit was a good one. Having tea in the parlor and out in the garden was very soothing. Everything in Valparaiso is up and down because it is all built on the side of a hill but the shops and cafes... More

Coming by car it was bit hard to find with written directions (be sure to have GPS or a good map)but we loved it once we got there. The rooms were charming and the beds were excellent. The included breakfast was a cut above what we have experienced. The service was so friendly and helpful. Hector arranged a tour for... More

The staff are very welcoming. This is a very comfortable hotel. The bedrooms are well equipped with good beds. Breakfast was a delight. There are many restarants close by. The streets are very hilly. But tere are quirky ascenceurs nearby. Rooms at the front look out over the arbour.

We stayed at this charming boutique hotel for 2 nights before going on a cruise. Hector, the manager was so nice and helpful. The room we had although on the small side was very comfortable. This hotel is very old style with antiques everywhere. Valparaiso is quite a hilly place and more than often you will need to taxi it... More

We spent three nights here in January and loved it. There are only about eight rooms, all different, very comfortable and charming. It is easy to walk from here to several restaurants and shopping areas, even find a great empanada around the corner. We were in a nice room next to a large veranda and we made very good use... This is a step back in time, old fashion service, a bed that you sink into and don't want to get out of. The manager allowed us to leave our gear in the room for the last day while we check out the town, then came back and cleaned up and changed before flying out..service that goes above and beyond.Close... A friend and I stayed at Hotel Somerscales in late January this year. The location is close to artists, galleries, good restaurants, and more. We liked it so much we added a day to our stay but had to change rooms. The next room was larger but not quite the gorgeous view but still a view of the harbor. The... More
