South America's first container hotel (25 containers were upcycled to form the 21 rooms, reception + breakfast area). Also the first urban winery in the history of Valparaiso and the first in Chile which allows tourists and hotel guests to taste directly from the barrels with the winemaker. Guests can also participate in winemaking activities during harvest (April, May and the first half of June). We soon hope to open the tasting room, wine shop and wine bar (as soon as alcohol licensing is approved).

We stayed in the suite, king plus two single futons, unit 35. It was lovely. The balcony was beautiful and very large overlooking to ocean up on the hill. Check in was very easy. They stock the room with much wine, beer, water soda and you simply report what was consumed when you check out. They add the beverage fees to your lodging bill. There was a reception with a full bar in the evening where you could buy drinks and they made homemade pizza. The breakfast which we paid for as part of our lodging was wonderful and definitely worth the extra fee. There was a beautiful spread of meats, cheeses, olives, yogurts, breads , juices, coffee, tea, spa water etc and then a chef made you any type of eggs with meats. We kept our car in the parking garage for the duration and easily took the Uber to various locations in town. We would definitely stay here again!!!

My husband and I stayed here a night before a cruise. This place is great! Innovative, humorous, quirky and comfortable with great staff. The breakfast was excellent, fresh and lots of choices. The rooms each were a shipping container with private bathroom, mini kitchen and sitting area and balcony. Rooftop terrace was lovely with amazing views- we even could see the ship we were going on unable to dock. Seeing we were stuck, hotel staff told us not to worry, though we had to check out of the room, we could keep our bags in another locked room and use the outside lounge as long as we needed to. When their rooftop Lounge opened, we even went up for beers and pizza ( very good pizza I will add ! Other foods looked good too) So we got very lucky and didn't leave until 8 that night. I can't thank the hotel enough for going above and beyond.

The staff are incredibly friendly; fluent in English and do everything they can to make your stay as pleasant as they can. The rooms are simply fabulous and you just cannot fault them. Very good wifi throughout and the rooftop bar is the cherry on the cake. Recommend wholeheartedly

The girls who work here are wonderful. They are polite, patient and speak English very well. The roof deck is lovely and has windows on the sides to protect against wind. The rooms are very nice, well decorated, well stocked with kitchen materials, and the bed was comfortable. There are a lot of stairs and no elevator, and I would not stay here if going up and down stairs with your luggage will be difficult. The parking was tricky - the cars whip around that corner and it is tight parking. But the girls help you through it. The breakfast was fantastic. Complete with mimosas, cappuccino, custom made eggs, fresh fruit and really delicious granola. To the hotel, the bathroom light needs to be brighter!

Great find ! Very cool interior with a fabulous view out to sea. The rooms are basic but comfy with great extras like fully sticked wine selection ( not included ) and fully stocked kitchen . A lovely exta was some binoculars to take in the view . Breakfast was great and even had champagne cocktail to start the day!

The winebox staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable for our stay. The hotel was absolutely beautiful with a stunning view. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Chile. If I could give them more stars I would!

When I first saw Winebox Hotel when researching places to stay in Chile, I knew my 20 something kids would love it, and so happy we stayed there, but so sad it was only for one night. From the time we arrived driving from Santiago, to when we left early with breakfast boxes the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Chiara checked us in and gave the best recommendations to eat and visit. Our rooms were comfortable with lots of repurposed, sustainable decor, extremely comfortable beds and a fantastic balcony with views of the whole of Valparaiso. The highlight for us though was the rooftop Wine tasting evening hosted by hotel owners and designers Grant and Camilla - thank you both so much for a great and informative experience.

A quite original hotel in a quite unique city. We enjoyed our stay there very much and would certainly recommend this place. The rooms are as described but more comfortable as expected, the welcome and front desk are far bey average, the breakfast delicious on the rooftop and the price vert reasonable. This being said there are a few drawbacks too, phonic isolation is not optimal, location, although pretty good, might be a problem for those not fit enough. Altogether a very nice hotel though.

We had an amazing 2 night stay and wish it could have been for longer. We were in Malbec which is the largest room and much much bigger than it appears from the photos. It was full of quirky and interesting art and furnishings whilst also being really comfortable and with full kitchen facilities. The highlight was the amazing balcony where we spent many hours watching the sea and city with our wine from Casablanca. You are a way out of the main restaurants/bars/sights area but we walked in around 25 minutes in the day and it was Chilean $5,000 (£5) to get an Uber back at night. The bar on the top floor of the hotel offered great cocktails and it’s less than 10 minutes walk to Verso where we had a decent dinner. It was definitely worth being a bit out of town for the better view. The breakfast was great and all the staff very friendly and helpful, Hopefully they’ll restart the wine tasting soon now Covid restrictions are lifted.
