Luciano K is a boutique hotel with 38 bedrooms, a blend of period and art deco design. On the hotel's ground floor you will find the entrance hall, bar and restaurant. A roof top terrace of 300 square meters acommodates: the spa, sauna, bar, heated swimming pool; and, spectacular views over Parque Forestal and Alameda Avenue. The building is a cultural jewel in the heart of the gastronomic Lastarria neighbourhood of Santiago, originally designed by the arquitect Luciano Kulczewski in the 1920s. At the time, it was the tallest building in Chile, the first with a lift and central heating. The glamour and elegance of the 1920s is showcased in the architecture and design, accompanied by the highest levels of comfort and technology you will find at the best international hotels.

Stay AWAY. Old, filthy hotel that is apparently skewing ratings somehow as this is not even a one star hotel. See the pics of the bathroom in the deluxe room and make your own decisions. There are many better- cleaner- same priced hotel rooms in Santiago. Make a different decision.

We felt almost privileged to stay at such an elegantly designed and well-located hotel as Luciano K. We paid dearly for the pleasure, but there is something aristocratic about the concept that made us a bit envious. Just riding up to the fifth floor in Santiago's first elevator from 1928 is adventurous in itself. Room 501 (an upgrade) is quietly located at the end of a beautiful corridor and is almost like a suite with its two-part bathroom area and the lovely room with two large beds. A bottle of quality water awaits the astonished guests. The bar, where breakfast is also served, is like something out of a movie by one of the great masters. Wonderful and classic. Just wait until you see the floors, which are a study in themselves. The rooftop bar is not quite as stylish, but wow, can the bartender shake some good pisco sours and caipirinhas. Razor-sharp balance between acid, sweetness, and alcohol. After the initial amazement had subsided, the flaws began to reveal themselves... Wifi didn't work in the room - in 2024!? The breakfast is mediocre - at those prices, there should be fresh bread, freshly cut fruit, eggs cooked to the guest's preference, better coffee, better quality ham, cheese, and pastries, and careful refilling throughout the period. More generosity - we could only delay check-out by 30 minutes, otherwise half a day's rent would be added to the bill. Oh yes, and the reception itself is completely off with its ugly glass facing the guests. But that's of course a minor detail. All in all, we loved our stay at Luciano K and are still a bit envious of having been allowed to stay at such a beautiful hotel.

Great boutique hotel in an excellent location - easy walking distance to many tourist spots and the fantastic restaurants in Lastarria. The room was a good size, the breakfast was great with a wide range of choices and the rooftop terrace bar and pool was a great spot for watching the sunset. The staff were friendly - organising an early breakfast when we had a very early start for a day trip, also loaning us adapters when our European ones didn’t fit the socket. Highly recommended.

A nice boutique Art Deco hotel centrally located. The staff was uniformly helpful and friendly. Every thing was efficiently run. The taxis they ordered for my trips to the airport were on time and charged exactly what the hotel had said. The closest metro station is half a block away and it is located between two dining and nightlife locales, Lastarria and Bellavista. The bedding was wonderful and the duvet very comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding and there was plenty of seating. The rooftop terrace with the small pool was a gem. Christian, Brian and Isis were the staff members i interacted with and couldn't have been better. I invited friends up for a pisco sour. I would definitely stay again. i was there altogether for 8 nights.

Our stay in this hotel was mostly good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room had a lot of character and was pleasant temperature. The rooftop bar was nice too. We stayed over new years so it was a strange time to be in Santiago and lots of things were closed. The area itself is a little rough but we didnt have any trouble. Everyone warned us though and there was a lot of noise at night. That said the area had great places to go and an artistic vibe. It isn’t far to walk to the centre of Santiago or to bellavista. The negatives ….We went to the new years meal upstairs and to be honest it was pretty poor. We booked a taxi through the desk and it didn’t come so we nearly missed a flight (not sure who was to blame but it wasn’t great). On balance we would probably stay there again but there was room for improvement.

Review of LucianoK on Merced in Santiago, Chile Do NOT stay at this hotel. In May 2023, we booked through Booking.com a six night stay at this hotel for January 2024. We also directed three other couples in our travel group to do the same. Upon arrival, we were shocked to find that our Deluxe accommodation had been downgraded without any notification to us to a much smaller room in the so-called Superior class. The remainder of our traveling group fortunately received the Deluxe accommodations previously booked. The “superior” room was tiny, dark, with dirty ceilings at each of the air conditioning vents and a dripping faucet at the single sink. The thermostat seemingly had little control over room temperatures, which were often frigid except the day the system failed. Fortunately, a technician could correct the failure in a few hours in the weather setting of record breaking heat. Except for a single bottle of bottled drinking water on the day of check in, every day thereafter of the remaining five days a charge was made of nearly $3 for every subsequent 16 oz bottle of water, twice the expense of bottled water we learned to purchase in the shop immediately adjacent to the hotel. On the third day of our stay, it was necessary to revisit the front desk for new room keys since the hotel had locked us out of the room. Although we exited the room prior to 11 am daily, the room was not freshened by cleaning staff until nearly 4pm. Although three attempts were made to speak with Andres, the hotel manager, in his office, each attempt was unsuccessful with messages left with hotel employees in his office with each attempt. Two days before check out, we requested a late check out and were granted one by the desk clerk who first checked the hotel booking schedule at the desk computer. On the day of check out, we were phoned in our room five hours before the promised designated late checkout time and were only then informed that we must exit the room within an hour or incur another full day charge. During our stay, a member of our traveling group was mugged by three men on the sidewalk of the neighborhood of the hotel at midday, ripping a small gold chain from her neck and nearly knocking her to the ground while we walked together as a group. We will never stay here again, nor would we recommend this hotel to anyone. Suffice it to say, we made a hasty retreat rather than pay the unexpected expense of an additional night’s charge for the promised late checkout.

Stayed for three nights as start of our Chile tour. The outside doesn’t really do the hotel justice - inside it’s really smart art deco style and the rooms are good size, excellent air con and superb comfortable bed. The restaurant staff and front of house were super friendly and helpful and the location is brilliant.

Cute boutique hotel close to the Lastarria neighborhood and several city parks. Easy check-in and the room was clean and modern. We unfortunately couldn't check out the roof top bar because it was booked for a private event. But we did enjoy the sauna (make sure you let the front desk know about 30 minutes before you use it so they can turn in on for you). No parking on site, you can try street parking or use a garage they recommend about 3 blocks away (we paid about ~US$20 for one night in the garage). Breakfast was great. Would definitely recommend staying here if you want to spend time in this area of Santiago for a reasonable price.

Lovely little hotel with lots of character, helpful and friendly staff and comfortable rooms. We stayed in one of the Suites on the 6th floor which was super spacious and quiet. The Roof Terrace is a great place to watch the sunset with a Pisco Sour in hand! Breakfast was served in the restaurant on the ground floor and was varied and of a high standard. The hotel has a lot of history behind it (the elevator is a thing of beauty!).

Nice yet small hotel near a lot of the tourist sites. I had several warnings from others about the safety of the area, but I didn't have any issues the one day I was there. I also wasn't out at night. The room was larger than I expected as was the bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Wifi was a little slow at times, even for basic browsing, but seemed to improve later. I had an early flight to catch before breakfast is traditionally served, and they said they would have a small breakfast ready for me whenever I needed it. Super nice of them to do that and it seems something they regularly do.
