Perfect location for a quick visit to Santiago. I wanted to be in the old town and this definitely was the perfect location, very walkable from the hotel to all the main places. i walked from here to the Plaza de Armas for the free walking tour, that was advertised in the hotel, and from there walked all over. It was set in a cobbled street and it was a good start to my trip. I had booked a budget room, so it was very basic and it had a shared bathroom, which wasn't great but I can't complain as it was cheap. I have to admit, that I left my purse in the garden that night and when I realised a few hours later, I went back and it was still there. I was so thankful, as this was my first night and I couldn't believe my luck.

Perfect location, great wifi, very good breakfast. The rooms are very run down, but really what can you expect for that price in a perfect location? I cannot understand the criticisms. Pay three times as much and you'll get the squeaky clean 5 stars. Pay what this hotel charges and the lamps will be broken, the washbasin cracked and the furniture rickety. I was ready for the worst and was happily surprised. The hotel is safe, the people at the desk friendly and the bath towels surprisingly new and fluffy.

The hotel (hostel) is in an excellent central location only 10 minutes walk from Plaza de Armas and 5 minutes to the nearest Metro station. The local area is quiet/quaint though a couple of the local bars are a bit noisy in the early evening but quiet later. The building is full of character but needs redecorating and before that a good clean (the bathroom light switch and door handle in our room looked dirty - an anti-bac wipe was dark brown after I wiped them). For a hotel in a centre of a major city, the price was low but reflects the the standard. The young lady who was the day reception staff was very helpful but others seemed to lack interest. Doubtful whether I would stay there again.

Stayed here for two nights in February. It was fairly cheap but you get what you pay for. Room was very basic and pokey. Reception staff helped alot with checking us in online for flights and arranging a transfer to the airport as we were running a bit behind schedule. The breakfast provided was basic but enough to start the day with however the service staff refused to give us clean plates and cutlery. They were really quite rude when we asked for clean ones, and gestured that we could just use the dirty ones on the table left by previous people that morning. I wouldn't stay here again as there is probably better, cleaner and cheaper places nearby.
