Loved, loved, loved this Hotel. A beautiful mix of classical elegance and contemporary luxury, well worth the awarded five stars. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable and the service throughout the hotel was impeccable. We stayed here for two nights after visiting Easter Island and before flying back to the UK and I wished we could of stayed longer. Ideally situated in downtown Santiago within easy reach of the tourist and historical attractions of this lovely city. Would definitely stay here again if I was fortunate enough to return to Chile.
Booked into the hotel for 3 nights prior to catching the Queen Victoria out of San Antonio. I was initially a little concerned about the safety and security of the hotel with regards to news stories about the student rioting which were apparently close by and had considered moving but glad that I didn't. The hotel was very secure and the staff were very helpful and considerate giving advice on areas to avoid and suggestions of areas to explore the city. The hotel is very well placed in the heart of town and just down the road from the presidential palace. The hotel name comes from Church at the other end of the plaza. There is a couple of really good restaurants in the hotel and the bar makes a terrific Pisco Sour - my drink of choice when in Chile. Although some may consider the decoration in the hotel to be dated it is very well maintained and great value for money. The swimming pool and spa areas very clean and well presented. The breakfast buffet was extensive and included a chef making omelettes and pancakes, and the champagne and orange juice was a great way to start the day. Will definitely be staying here the next time I come to Chile. The reported Riotting in the city did not turn out to be an issue, we had plenty of warning from the staff as to the times and where the demonstrations would happen and we did not feel in danger or at risk at any time. I was lucky to be in Santiago at the very beginning of the COVID pandemic and my heart goes out to the staff and managers at the hotel, they worked really hard to make my stay enjoyable and I wish them the best over the coming months.…
My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights after our cruise. We found the hotel to be excellent. Clean, great food, especially the brekfast buffet. The staff was excellent, jumping to help and take our luggage in and out for us (which we had a large amount) with smiles and gret attitudes. they were very attentive of arriving and departing guests. Prices were good, as I've gotten a lot less for a lot more money here inthe states. Carlos at the front desk is an asset to the Hotel Plaza San Francisco. His advice and care he gave us in setting up some sightseeing trips while in the city was excellent. We would definately stay here again if we come back to Santiago.
We arrived on March 11, with plans to join a cruise, and departed on March 18, several days after our cruise was cancelled (for which we were grateful). During our stay, we always felt safe, were impressed at the sanitization protocols rapidly enacted, and always enjoyed breakfast, served by a friendly and efficient staff. We hope to return to Chile, and if we find ourselves in Santiago, we will definitely re-visit the Hotel Plaza San Francisco.
Exellent hotel to stay at. We were going on a cruise that was cancelled so we stayed for extra 5 days and they took very good care of us. The only problem I had was that the cleaning staff did not speak a word in english, since I had to get coffee and toilet paper I had to go to the front desk to ask for it.
