The Casa Bueras Boutique Hotel in Santiago, Chile is absolutely amazing! Chile has everything! We saw penguin, dolphin, pelican, a condor, Valpo, wine country, The Southern Cross, The Andes, and stayed in The Casa Bueras Boutique Hotel in Santiago, Chile! This boutique hotel is beautiful, elegant, accommodating, and upscale. As three American ladies who wanted to hit the beach, the city, and the ski resort during Chile's winter, we were welcomed in by Loreto and Rodrigo. They made every concession and welcomed us like family. The coffee in the morning was superb. The breakfast was delightful. The ambience was lovely for reading and enjoying a glass of wine or beer. We could sit inside or outside and felt nestled into a perfect place to enjoy the city. We felt very safe in the city and were located near everything we needed. We spoke to everyone from all different countries and even had quite a few drinks with the many travelers who were a blessing as well. The honor bar was a classy and well -placed accommodation. The temperature and comfortable sleeping arrangements were appreciated after our three weeks of travel. We will always miss this perfect little boutique hotel that made a perfect niche for us. Take Care & Blessings, Beth Treeni & Hez

Really clean hotel with beautiful rooms and a gorgeous outdoor patio! Staff was extremely friendly, kind, helpful and were also very understanding of our limited Spanish vocabulary. The hotel is in a great and safe area. It is also close to the bus, the metro and is walking distance to many great restaurants and activities. The breakfast provided by the hotel was also fantastic - we did not order breakfast out once during our trip!

Our connecting flight to Santiago was canceled due to mechanical problems. So we arrived there the following day to the hotel. And the hotel would not give us credit or a refund for the night we missed. The little pool in the back terrace is not heated. So the water is very cold. There are no wash cloths at all in the entire hotel. So we had to go into the city to purchase our own.The staff is not very friendly or helpful. And we will not book here again. This is a very mediocre hotel.

Casa Bueras is conveniently located in the Santiago city center. The front desk staff members were helpful and eager to advise us on restaurants, transportation, sightseeing, etc. Our room was nicely appointed with everything we needed. Breakfast was a nice selection of fruits, cheeses, meats and we could order eggs any style from the cook. There is a beautiful garden with a pool that was an oasis from the city hustle and bustle.

The reception is top notch and the cleaning team is friendly! I was shown kindness throughout my time here! Inside the lobby of the hotel is well done, as is the breakfast area. The pool is tiny and not very private given the backyard is surrounded by apartment buildings, but they did a good job with the little space they have. I enjoyed eating breakfast in the morning out on the patio. I give this hotel a four out of five because I am rating it based on it being labeled a four-star hotel. The only amenities this hotel has is a tiny pool and continental breakfast (which was good). On hotels.com it says it has a restaurant and room service. I was told during my booking with hotels.com to get a discount as a VIP but there is no restaurant. It is a small well-done boutique hotel in the middle of the city. It used the space it had efficiently but it should not be considered a four-star. Maybe it could be a 3.5. It says it is a luxury hotel. It is a nice boutique hotel. If you would like to be in the center of a quiet small hotel in the center of the city I highly recommend it!

My wife and I had an unplanned extended stay at Casa Bueras due to a positive COVID PCR test before we were to depart for Easter Island. Our planned 2-night stay turned into a week-long quarantine at Casa Bueras. The staff was very supportive. With the help of WhatsApp and Google Translate, we had reliable communications (in Spanish) with the front desk without ever leaving our room. I have minimal Spanish language knowledge. A competent Spanish speaker would have no problem using the room phone, of course. Although the front desk could handle the usual requests in English, a translation app proved more reliable, especially for out-of-the-ordinary requests during our stay. The hotel is not the ideal place to stay for quarantine. The hotel restaurant is open only for breakfast. The breakfast meal was delivered to our door each morning after we placed our order via WhatsApp. The menu varied somewhat daily, but omelets and fried eggs were consistently available and nicely prepared. Meals other than breakfast had to be ordered using Uber Eats or PedidosYa meal delivery apps. Again, Google Translate was essential for understanding the restaurant menus and for coordinating the transport of the delivered meals from the front desk to our door. We were never quite sure precisely what we would receive in our orders, but they were generally good quality and still warm. The location of the hotel is a mixed bag. On the plus side, it is only a pleasant 1 km walk from the hotel to the funicular on the slope of San Cristóbal Hill and the Virgin Mary monument at its top, and entry to the Santiago Metropolitan Park. The hotel is also not far from some nice restaurants. On the minus side, the immediate neighborhood around the hotel is covered in graffiti, and trash collection occurs at the street corner just 100m from the hotel entrance. Demonstrations and protests occur in the hotel vicinity, so extra caution is necessary if going out in the evening. We encountered riot police with shields and weapons when we rounded the corner from the hotel the night we arrived. No protesters were to be seen, but we decided to cut our walk short and head back toward the hotel. The hotel itself is old, mostly making it quaint. Our room was quite large and appointed with a small table and chairs that worked well for serving meals. The hotel is maintained fairly well, but improvements are needed. The refrigerator in our room was non-functional and was sorely missed during our quarantine. Housekeeping kept the floors and rooms free of dust. The linens and towels were clean. The old wooden floors creaked and were sorely in need of a good mopping. There were no washcloths, but then, we didn't find washcloths at any of our hotels in Ecuador, Peru, or Chile... so I think they simply are not a South American custom- no worries. The room had two functional windows: one in the bathroom and one that opened onto the front of the hotel. The latter proved helpful for spotting Uber Eats delivery drivers. But none of the windows featured a screen, and flies would readily migrate into the bedroom if the window were left open. Did I mention the garbage collection site at the street corner? The staff is the saving grace of Casa Bueras. They did their best to keep us safe and comfortable while taking reasonable precautions to keep themselves safe. Were it not for the staff, I could not rate this hotel as highly as I do.

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at this hotel in February. The excellent location allows you to walk to many historic sites. There are restaurants and a grocery store nearby. The hotel staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast is pre-packaged due to COVID but there is good variety and ample food with great coffee. The breakfast room is quite nice and you can sit outside on the terrace and have your meal.

My spouse broke her arm just before we were set to travel. We asked the hotel to allow us to use the deposit for another room at another time. We did not ask for a refund. Not only did they charge us full price, but they charged us triple! It took weeks of action and numerous phone calls to get them to take action. A VERY difficult experience.

The hotel is in an awesome location – it is downtown and within walking distance of most of the sites and the historic area. Within 5 minutes walk of the hotel, there is a grocery store where you can also buy wine, beer and spirits. In the same area, there are many restaurants. As per other reviews, there were riots here just prior to the pandemic in 2020. The properties surrounding the hotel are covered in graffiti but Casa Bueras is clean and graffiti free. We felt safe in the area. When you enter the hotel, there is a small lobby and a beautiful marble stair case in the lobby area. There is a lovely small pool in the back surrounded by tall trees and high walls covered in greenery. There is a terrace leading from the breakfast room to the pool with small tables and other seating areas. This is where we ate breakfast every morning. It is a little oasis in the busy city. We selected a junior suite with the terrace since we wanted to have an outdoor space where we could sit while we quarantined awaiting our COVID tests. Our large terrace had a loveseat, coffee table, planters, and a lounger. I understand that the hotel normally serves a breakfast buffet but everything is now pre-boxed due to COVID. We each had a toasted sandwich. homemade yogurt, fruit medley, granola, a muffin and juice. The front desk staff serve tea or coffee. The service is great and the front desk staff and the manger are very helpful. They were helpful throughout our stay but the best display of exceptional service was the help they gave us when we did not get our COVID test results that we required to return home. The front desk employee used his personal phone to try to help us track down our COVID test (since all the phone messages were in Spanish). When we could not get in touch with anyone, the hotel manager suggested we get retested. The manager walked with us to the testing center which was approximately 15 minutes in each direction so he could translate for us. He explained our problem and they agreed to provide result by 8:00 pm. The manager waited for us to be tested and walked us back to the hotel. Thankfully, we received our test at the airport, just in time for our flight. Had it not been for the help we received from the hotel staff, we would have missed our flight home and we would have been delayed for 2 days. This small hotel is a little gem in a busy city.

Having read the reviews, most seem to be pre-Covid. Now, the hotel seems to be cutting corners to recoup money. Although some of the staff are friendly, the service is non-existent. One of the staff even admitted he had been complaining to the manager for 2 months about the poor breakfast - boxes of food left in a warm restaurant for hours, before being collected by guests. Not a problem collecting your food to eat in your room, but when Covid/hygiene is the reason given, you expect more than unsealed jars of brown chopped fruit, a slice of chicken in cling film, toast, butter and marmalade in cling film and no cutlery. We even had to share a small bottle of water. No facilities are currently available - outwardly due to Covid - but the pool looked like it could do with a clean, the outdoor terrace was closed, the staff do not wear masks despite residents being required to and our room was very dusty. All in all, a disappointing stay, particularly when other hotels in Santiago are managing to operate safely post-Covid. Also, be careful, as the hotel charge your credit card the day before you check out, without telling you or giving you a bill to check beforehand. Bit of a nuisance as we wanted to pay cash and use up our pesos.
