This well-appointed, lovely and simple lodging lets the surroundings speak for themselves and they are nothing short of stunning. Host, Gonzalo, has a heart as big as all of Chile and could not have tried any harder to make us feel comfortable and at home. The cottage was appointed with kitchen, common room w/pellet-fired stove, full bath and 3 bedrooms and was more than large enough for our family of 4 (would have slept 6 in 3 bedrooms). The large wrap-around deck sits right on the Rio Pescado and the best amenity of all was the wood-fired hot-tub that soothes on a cool night. Rabbits, ducks, chickens and a resident dog named Rocky give the compound a cozy feel and the main lodge (complete with large kitchen, indoor grill, foosball, billiards and a 2nd story loft with computer and television would is a great place that would be suitable for a crowd but intimate for a family or two. Wifi is slow, but why in the world would you want it? Come here to unplug! The rushing river is soothing and the stunning volcano backdrop is out of a movie. Gonzalo went above and beyond our expectations to welcome us and help with transportation. It is not an easy place to get to and there is little nearby, so come prepared. This is a very special place and one our family will always treasure.
