I came to Pucon Kayak Retreat for three weeks and it has been nothing short of exceptional. The staff are extremely kind and always going about their day with smiles on their faces. The comfortable and unique accommodations are surrounded by a beautiful property hidden by large trees and gorgeous greenery. There are numerous World Class rivers nearby that I had been dreaming of running for years, not to mention some of the most breathtaking riverbanks I've ever seen. The owner Dave can always be found on the property and is always there if you need anything. Dave can answer any question you have about his business or anything Chile related, he is extremely kind and clearly very passionate about what he does. I would recommend Pucon Kayak Retreat to anyone and I will most definitely be returning!

David Hughes and his staff at Pucon Kayak Retreat put together a fantastic trip for our college program Rivers of Life through Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs. Our needs were vast and required a high level of logistics with guest speakers, river shuttles, food shops, and more. David's staff offered great one-on-one instruction and conversation with our students and helped create a trip of a life time for us! The accommodations at the retreat were first class and the food was above and beyond. We look forward to bringing our next group back!!

We had an awesome stay at Dave's kayak hostal, very convenient for a kayaking trip since it is located at the take out of the Upper Trancura. Dave helped us a lot with kayaking logistics and showed us a lot of different sections of river. If you are looking to go kayaking in Chile, Pucón Kayak Retreat is the place you have to go!

Pucon Kayak Retreat has a great location right outside Pucon. You can put on the lower Trancura right on the property. The lodging is great and the staff is very welcoming and accommodating. If you're thinking of travelling to Chile to go kayaking definitely give these guys a try!

Going into my time at Pucon Kayak Retreat, I had very high expectations. Many close friends of mine had stayed with Dave before, and all their comments highly praised the Retreat. To say the least, I was not disappointed. Dave was extremely warm and welcoming to our large group and provided the best place possible. Located in Pucon, the epicenter of whitewater kayaking in Chile, we had access to many great rivers and waterfalls. The Retreat itself is located on the banks of the Trancura, an excellent beginner river. However, within an hour's drive you can find some of the best paddling in the world. There's a section for everyone. The service at the Retreat was excellent, and Dave did everything possible to make our experience the best. The food was delicious, the rooms were pristine, and my time was amazing. I've already began to plan my return trip! Thank you so much!!

Dave runs an incredible operation for kayakers and adventurists in Pucon. The facilities are are not only well kept and clean, but they are also laid out on the property in a very cool fashion. The outdoor showers are hot and tucked away in a beautiful spot. The riverside kitchen is has everything you need. The buildings are cozy, and there are a handful of level tent pads back in the trees for campers. The water is clean and the bathrooms are well maintained. The Pucon Kayak Retreat staff are friendly and professional. I would highly recommend a stay at the Pucon Kayak Retreat, or paddling with their knowledgeable guides in the area!

Cool spot on the river with amazing guides. If you're into more extreme white-water kayaking, their week long packages are a great option. A Chilean guide, Isi, took me paddling on a gorgeous class II section of a river near Pucon Kayak Retreat and it was outstanding to be able to take a one on one trip with her. I love that PKR hires local female guides. Isi is an amazing guide with tons of personality! PKR is lucky to have her.

Pucon Kayak Retreat is amazing! What an incredible spot right on the river in the world’s best kayak destination.
I arrived quite early in the season and David was able to connect me with local paddlers, outfit me with boat and paddle, and open my eyes to the phenomenal paddling in Pucon. We ran high water upper and lower Trancura, Todo Palguin, Upper Liucura, as well as scope out various park and huck waterfalls. All within 20 min drive from the Retreat!
I totally fell in love with Pucon and the Pucon Kayak Retreat! I’ll definitely be back soon.
If you come to Pucon go with the Kayak Retreat. 100% worth it!

Perfect place to relax and be sorrounded by nature. Close to the river, close to Pucon city, is located in an estrategic place. The attention is incredible, it feels like being at home, I reccomend it 100%

The guides here are phenomenal. Shout out to Nacho and Matias who helped us get out on the river without any obligation. Nacho paddled with us on his off days and connected us to some of his friends to paddle more. Matias helped a ton when we ran into problems and didn't have the Spanish to communicate well.
