Great hostel with a community atmosphere - not too big so everyone knows everyone. Staff (Lorena & Charles) extremely helpful and great location! 2 kitchens, hot showers and decent internet. Thanks guys!

They give SO much info on check in that you can't help but stay longer! There is a great vibe, two kitchens, quiet at night, very friendly and helpful staff, four bathrooms. Really enjoyed being there, it feels very comfortable.

We were here for two nights in the double room and simply loved it! Amazing friendly staff, lots and lots of info in english for tourists, and the BEST prices for excursions (we booked Villarica through them, had a blast and payed much less than the other companies charged...we checked all local companies) Only small problem was the small kitchen... Stayed for 2 nights. Pierre was very helpful along with the lady who works mornings. Alway remembering your name & making you feel welcome. Very chilled atmosphere. 2 kitchens and clean, light and well ventilated rooms. Just off the main strip & walking distance from the Tur Bus terminal, but also next to Pullman and Jac, meaning you only need... More

The hostel itself is ok, except the two kitchens are tiny and the fridges are packed full they need bigger fridges! Rooms are fine but bed linen is a bit dirty, old and grimey! Overall the hostel itself is ok although a little pricey for what it is but my main issue were the staff. Staff were quite rude at... More

Was previously at the sister hostel called Chili Kiwi so was expecting the same/similar service. However, on arrival they seemed to have made a human error with our booking since they only booked 1 bed in a dorm room and not 2 beds as per the reservation. Since they were fully booked we offered to share the 1 bunk bed... More

Best hostel I´ve stayed at in Chile so far. It has a great community vibe, and you can tell that the owners and staff really care about making it a great experience for travelers. They provide a very helpful book of information on bus times, guided trips, and things to do on your own to help you plan your stay... More

The communication skills of the staff are very poor, and it is not only that their English is bad. For example, we did a reservation in the morning to visit the volcano they day afterwards which they confirmed to be ok. However, later they day, when I did a double check to see everything was ok, the woman from the... More

The staff at El Refugio are knowledgeable and very helpful. I had no issues communicating with them and they were able to answer nearly all of my questions. I stayed in the 8 bed dorm and it was nice. The kitchens are small and can get crowded during breakfast and dinner, but it wasn't really an issue. The water gets... More

Really nice, chilled hostel. Easy to meet people and really good vibes. The staff are really helpful with all the tours (if that's what you want to do they have really good prices) AND with things you can do on your own - they're not trying to push and sell the tours to you like some hostels in Pucon. They... More

“The dome tent is the best value. I stayed there for 4 nights and loved it. Be sure to bring earplugs because early mornings with guests can leave you grumbling. I also recommend bringing a flashlight for the evening and an eye mask to block the morning sun from waking you to0 early.”
