A 4-storey Hotel with 22 rooms on the fringe of the Little India Historical Conservation Area. Local eateries, bars and restaurants nearby. A short walk to 3 Rapid Train stations that will take you to the CBD and tourist attractions.
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly colored saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colorful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Center, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colorful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.
It was okay. Location is the main reason we chose this hotel. Very convenient and near to 2 MRT stations (Rochor & Jalan Besar) and bus stations. Bugis & little india is exactly one block away from this hotel.
But, they need to improve on some major things, such: better bed/mattress: Very essential to have a good night sleep after a long day, but the bed is too firm with one set of bad pillows, and a very short blanket is a total disaster for my back and my sleep. They really need to change the bed and the blanket, and add more pillow.
Friendlier staffs: Its a bit depressing to meet people after a long walk who is not going to greet you or just simply smile back at you.
But the hotel is thoroughly clean, with a cute small rooftop as their breakfast area. PS: -They dont have luggage storage room, they will put your luggages in the the emergency door isle. -no window in bedroom (first floor rooms)
I was surprised, this was my first experience staying at the Hotel with very Bad internet connection. Two nights stayed here without any internet. I couldn’t even connect my mobile & laptop to the wifi. I did complaining to the reception but no solution. Also I invited FDA (Receptionist) to guide me how to turn on TV but she didn’t know because need to input password and she didn’t know too its password. How come lah??? Voila, my temper was getting high at that time. The cost quite expensive 130 SGD per night but they gave me 110 SGD just for sleeping there and I can not do my works there. Then, I went out and walked around to National Library to do my work cos I needed Internet. The room is Okay for me and comfortable but I would not recommend this budget luxury inn because of the TV and Internet Connection.
Ideally situated for travelling round Singapore Island as is 120m from Rochor MRT (underground train) station and Jalan Besar station. Problem I found with this small hotel was the room. Very small dominated by the toilet and shower cubicle with wash basin just inside the room door, OK bed, spacious wardrobe/cupboard space, no window to look out of except a stained glass panel with slats in front of the clear glass above and below stained glass panel It needs double glazing to block out the loud street traffic noise (203 is at the front of the hotel) and the air-con never worked despite several requests to the front desk I gave up in the end and for four of my five nights I slept ON the bed rather than in it as it was just too hot. It was a no smoking room but previous guests took no notice of it as there were a lot of cigarette burns on the carpet and furniture but the cleaners did their best to cancel out any residual smell. Tea and pre-sugared coffee in room were available plus small kettle, a fridge that didn't get cool and TV never worked either. Best part of the hotel were the reception staff - they were brilliant and friendly especially Siti.
We stayed for over a week which gave us a good chance to road test this small hotel. The pluses ... Great location on the edge of Little India with 3 MRT stations very close. The hotel is very nice - really clean with sparkling bathrooms. Staff more than amazing .. so helpful and obliging. The terrace rooms are worth the extra. A couple of minuses which could easily be improved - Beds are very hard and won't suit everybody. Sometimes the wifi was weak. We had a problem with our room with exterior light streaming in at night .. we had to use a blanket over a glass door to reduce this. I would urge the hotel to install a block out curtain or blind over the bathroom window. There is a lovely rooftop terrace which is only open a few hours daily when they serve a snack style breakfast. It would have been nice to access this area at other times of the day and evening. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.
Perfectly located in one of Singapore liveliest neughborhood, a short walking distance from Bungis, the Arab quarter and the Tekka Centre. Romm was clean, all equipment in perfect working conditions and the staff friendly and helpfull. I woyld recommend one of the Terrace Rooms as they seem suffer less from the traffic noise. Excellent value for the price paid.
