"Stayed at JW Marriott South Beach last weekend and having an amazing experience with professional service by the TEAM at the Executive Lounge! !🤩 This stay was during my proposal which made it even more special!🥰 I love how homely the Team at Executive Lounge is, and they never fail to make me feel welcome even the Chefs!!! Excellent service and attention from the Team as they always meets our expectations with their attentiveness and friendliness. Food and Cocktails were awesome too! Two thumbs up for them👍👍 Kudos to the team, Cora , Antonio ,Irene , Kay, Lorraine, Yi Xuan and also Chef Randy and Chef Edwin to serve the delicious food !❤️❤️
We stayed at the hotel for 8 days during this trip and it was the best out of the 3 hotels that we stayed at. The hotel is amazingly located, with the Civic District and Raffles City mall within walking distance. Arguably the best location to be to learn more about Singapore’s history and how far it’s come. Personally, it beats staying near Orchard Road, which is only a few MRT stops away. This hotel is vibrant and well designed. You feel a sense of energy being in the common areas. Our Premier room was spacious, with a massive toilet. Breakfast was amazing with a huge spread everyday. I particularly liked the noodle/laksa station. The lounge serves food from 1430 hrs and is always well staffed. What makes this hotel is the staff and their attitude. My Bonvoy elite status was recognised at check in. The front desk staff were highly accommodating and made every effort to ensure that we got an upgrade. During the stay then also organised for a better room when it was available, something they’re not obligated to do. The lounge staff knew my name and my usual drink order. This is one of the best hotels in Singapore. The service matches the vibrant decor, without being stuffy.…
Flew to Singapore and decided to celebrate my birthday week in this hotel. Wasnt expecting any at all from them but maybe other hotels have far better initiation in knowing their guests celebration? Not even a complimentary food or items was given. Anyway, upon check-in there was a long line at the lobby with only 3 staff at the front desk. Not even one of them are smiling or giving an aura of a warm welcome. The staff are acting like robots. We were told that rooms will only be available by 3pm so we decided to eat at Suntec, a nearby mall. Room wasnt that big but I did appreciate the bath tub. Water pressure from the rain shower wasnt that strong compared to other hotels The hotel lobby is 5 minutes away from Esplanade MRT Station but most of the time we rode Grab because you know Singapore will always be excruciatingly hot. Will I stay here again when I go back to SG? I think its enough. Id rather stay at others that is truly value for money.…
I stayed at the JW for 1 night and booked a Premier Marina Bay View and got upgraded to the Club Premier Marina on a weekday. Check in was fuss free and it was done within 10 mins. Got the room on level 17 with partial views of the Marina Bay at the comfort of your room. Disappointed that the Flow 18 and the Pool was too cold for a swim even in the middle of the afternoon. Afternoon tea and evening cocktails at the lounge was good but food selection was limited considering a hotel of this calibre. thankfully the free flow sparkling wines compensated for it. breakfast at the beach road kitchen was one of the highlights as semi buffet returned after the pandemic. coffees and fresh juices were readily available which is always a plus. food selection though small but was done at high quality.…
This trip was 10 nights. Staff was wonderful we stay were allot they like most Marriott properties in Singapore value the status that you’ve earned in your membership and even if no membership o hear there wonderful. only one in Singapore that does not is the st Regis. Breakfast buffet is great restaurants in hotel are great only issue with breakfast when you stay a while same food at breakfast but the lounge the food also does not change often enough those are my only complaints. I will be returning and I spend 80-100 nights traveling per year. Also 18th floor pool area is great but they have this charge to use the sauna and steam nobody understands of 20.00. I find that very petty when the rooms are not inexpensive as it is a five star hotel.
I stayed at the JW Marriott South Beach for a 2 nights staycation after realizing that flights out of Singapore over the Hari Raya long weekend were just grossly overpriced with so many locals wanting to get out of Singapore after being stuck on the little red dot for more than 2 years. Needless to say that at $865 a night and as a Titanium Elite Marriott member, I had some pretty high expectations….well, I guess they were missed on basically all aspects. Starting with the check in which took ages with some obviously inexperienced or poorly trained staff whom could not seem for the sake of god to be able to get the paperwork and the key sorted out not to mention the kids amenities welcome package which was ultîmately provided in a hastily put together enveloppe. Having checked in at 5H30pm, we thought about having a quick drink at the executive lounge where the reception staff insisted to charge me a cover charge for my 8 years old kid….totally insane when she would just drink a bottle of water or a soda, and we had no intention of tasting any of the nibbles/food since we had booked a nice restaurant at the Raffles Hotel….needless to say that I was exceedingly underwhelmed and upset with the total lack of care and flexibility of the lounge staff knowing that they would not charge adults drinking half a bottle of spirit and having a full dinner in that place when I just wanted a refreshment….shows how they treat their Titanium members (to be fair this is the first time I experienced this in a JW or any other Marriott property so might be specific to the South Beach property). The next day at breakfast, the staff seemed to be overwhelmed by having a bit of activity and could not cope with making coffee and teas nor to mention serving customers at each of the station. Particularly the lady serving at the pastry station was the most obnoxious bordering impolite waitress that I have ever encountered in my 30+ years of travelling the world….amazing that we call this the hospitality business! I will pass on the fact that the room are very average for the $ I paid and the view on the Suntec convention center is…just that…no view…no special treatment and no upgrade despite having status….not even a bottle of water at the lounge for your thirsty kids….very, very poor experience overall. JW Marriott South Beach…you have a serious quality, customer service, staff training issue and honestly I am baffled that you would get a score of 4.5 stars on Tripadvisor. I would definitely not recommend this hotel as anyone would be better off staying at surrounding properties such as the Kempinsky, Ritz-Carlton or even Swisshotel….you’ve been warned and told!…
Disappointing Is how to describe my recent overnight stay at the JW Marriott ,South ,Beach Singapore 🇸🇬 Earlier on the day of my checkin as I was passing the hotel I enquired at reception if my room would have a view of the Marina Bay area and was assured it would and the room was located on level 7 Checking in later in the day after receiving my room key and anticipating my room on entering the lift I found that the key had not been activated , on returning to reception both staff members were engaged with other guests …. 10 minutes later I was able to get the key activated. On entering room 719 I was immediately struck by the fact that the premier room was facing the roof support of the canopy covering the alfresco area of the hotel and an outdoor entertaining area ! To activate the window coverings the Switch is located behind a standard lamp beside the rather small tv screen. On the window is a stencil which reads Peeka boo they can see you. On voicing my concerns with the view on the online chat with guest relations I was advised that as the hotel had no other rooms available and that a room upgrade or higher level was not available ( I was not looking for an upgrade at all. only for a room without a steel canopy view )and to compensate my disappointment the management would like to offer a hotel credit for use in the hotel restaurants and/ or Spa. Perhaps as a regular Guest of Marriott ( Platinum member) travelling regularly my expectations were too high at the JW Marriott -Singapore but after being locked out of my premier room again because of a faulty room key and after being asked by one of the staff , How was my room ? ………and being told that the view from level 18 was spectacular and u can just go up to the public area to see the view. I feel Let down. On a positive note Irene and Hazel in the Executive lounge are wonderful. Welcoming, professional and knowledgeable about the hotel. ps. During the whole stay at level 7 , I have only seen one guest on the same floor despite being a fully booked hotel as stated by reception.…
We've stayed in this hotel during CB for nearly 2 months, the hotel and staff really took good care of us. We enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back for staycation again. The hotel wasn't accept bookings from public as it's being assigned as SHN facility for the entire 2021, so we're really excited when we learned that JW Marriott South Beach is finally accept leisure bookings from public once again this year. There's no better time to book her a staycation for birthday celebration than now. Pre-Arrival I texted the front desk 2 days before check-in to see if I can order a birthday cake for celebration, but was told that they don't sell cake, However they will get the kitchen to prepare one for us, great. I then request the cake to be kept in the in-room mini fridge before our arrival (to surprise her), and they confirmed they will arrange it accordingly. I also manage to secure a last minute dinner reservation by using the in app live chat, thumbs up. Everything is plan accordingly, what a great way to start the celebration. Check-in I was told by the front desk that he had upgraded us to Premier Guest Room Marina Bay view, and thanked me for being a loyal Marriott Bonvoy Titanium member. Akira Back We headed to the restaurant after check-in to the hotel, we ordered the Greatest Hits Anniverary... (typo?) menu for our dinner. It began with an AB Tuna Pizza, which was extremely delicious. Soul Mate and Yellowtail Jalapeno are the next course, the later was delightful. Our main course will be Beef Cheek and Seared Seabass, The seabass was fresh and delicious, my personal favorite, but she doesn't like the beef cheek as she find it a little greasy. The restaurant surprise her with a miniature kagami biraki, a Japanese tradition to celebrate birthday, it's a really nice touch. As a reminder, Marriott Bonvoy member does not enjoy any discount for set menu item from Akira Back. The Room We were assigned to room 1517, my first impression of the room was small, really really small... I had a much better room when I was just a lowly gold 2 years ago. I can't even swing my favorite rocking chair without knocking into things. Nicer hotel slippers as compare to our previous stay, even nicer than the one from St Regis. A mask and a bottle of hand sanitiser were provided also. The view was speechless... they should rename the room as Premier Guest Room ParkRoyal Collection Marina Bay view instead. The view may have been a bit nicer on a higher floor, but not much to see from floor 15 (towards MBS), you do get a nicer CBD view though. The first thing I did was open the mini fridge to check the birthday cake, but the cake was nowhere to be seen. I couldn't call the front desk as the plan was to surprise her with birthday cake at midnight. I texted the front desk from Marriott Bonvoy app and it took them quite a while to reply my message. I switched on the TV while waiting for them to reply my text message, I noticed a bright spot on the TV screen and it won't go away (and which was kind of annoying). I contacted the front desk about the issue at around 8.35pm, they told me they will send someone up to check the TV. About half an hour later, the front desk finally texted me back that the team missed out the birthday cake for our celebration, and will send the birthday cake up right away, but before I could stop them from doing that, the birthday cake was already right outside the door, which ruined my plan of surprising her. At around 9.35pm, one of the associate from front desk called us back to check if the TV is working right now, which I told them no one has come to check the TV since our last conversation. At 9.45pm, someone finally showed up, they will need to replace the entire TV set as the defect is not fixable. Since it took them more than an hour to finally showed up, it could probably take them another hour to send a new TV set up, we've decided to give up and called it a day, but told them to replace the TV set for the next hotel guest, hopefully the TV in room 1517 is working by now. Here's my top tips to anyone, if you're planning for a surprise event, it's better to make your own arrangement than let the hotel mess everything up for you. Request for room XX16 (Marina Bay view) or XX19 (Office view), same room type but with larger floor space, and a nice window couch. Check-out Check-out was extremely smoothly done, the whole process took less than a minute, no one bother to ask if the stay had been pleasant, probably no one care either. I guess when they read the notes of things that went wrong last night, act blur live longer was probably the best approach at time. Summary Front desk - cold, insincere, robotic (I miss the good people like Bella, Helen or Venessa) Housekeeping team - helpful, passionate, take pride of their work Lounge & The Kitchen - attentive, warm and helpful Will I come back to stay in this property again? Probably not...…
Had 3 days 2 nights stay at JW Marriott Singapore over the long weekend (Hari Raya + Labour Day). Booked a suite for the staycation to enjoy time with my friends. Good service, and lovely interior design. Breakfast was good too! The best part is the bathtub of the suite. It was really nice And of course had a good time in the infinity pool as well.
I stay at Marriott hotels all around the world and the hospitality here at South Beach from Hazel, Cora, Antonio and Corraine was the very best. They consistently made a feel special, made recommendations and gave us a feeling of home away from home. This hotel is nice but it is these fine people that make this my preferred place to stay in Singapore.
