We used this hotel for a cheap sleep during the day during a 15 hour transfer. The room was basic but clean and had a bath and toilet. With a 20 minutes taxi drive from the airport a fine place for a one day stay during a transfer. Not very cosy to stay for a longer term.

This place was clean, the internet was good, it was really close to a bus station, and kind of close to train station. Pretty cheap especially for Singapore. But, no shower curtain, no extras, not fancy and in a slummy part of town. The walk to the train station is not comfortable for young woman, especially if you are wearing... More

Nice staying not far from Chinatown. The subway station is placed about 10 minutes walking but also the bus stop is only 2 minutes from there. They offers laundry but it's quite expensive, so the best way is get out of the hotel and walk two minutes to Hotel 81 palace (same company) there you can do laundry by yourself... More

We stayed here for 5days 4nights.. The experience is quite okay.. I didnt expect much as this is just a place for us to sleep after a long day out.. The staffs were friendly and helpful. The cleanliness were maintained as we keep on requesting for tidy up..and i love the coffee :)

Admittedly, I'd just come from Manila where I'd been staying in a 5 star hotel, to this place where it's really only 1 or 2 star? The bathroom is rusty, the shower doesn't work properly, the warm water runs out after a few minutes. The TV (which is as small as an Ipad) only has very bad local stations, no... More

I'm stay in this hotel for 6 days .. Experience was terrible... Water was licking from bathtub. Bathtub is very small .. Room was very small. No cleanses in room . I think they clean cloths once in a year it was smelling badly. Hotel located in red light area . It doesn't meet tourist requirement. I don't know why... More

This hotel is quiet and clean and about 10 minutes from the train. Plenty of places to eat very close by. Friendly, helpful staff. We were told this was a seedy area but we found it to be quite ok - no fancy but quite safe.

We have previously stayed in Hotel 81 Princess and always found it to be a clean and comfortable place to stay.......Until this last time. I sent an email days before we arrived requesting a specific room, to which they say they did not receive. The room has no complimentaries (Like shower cap etc). The bathroom had toothpaste on the wall... More

From where to start. The driver who picked me up from the airport told me with a bit of reservation that the hotel is not a very good area. Finally, he told me that the hotel is located in the neighborhood where you can pick up girls. I thanked him for telling me. The staff were kind, but I felt... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and every night from 9:00 - 11:00 there was a huge ruckus in the hall outside our room. The front desk has video cameras of each hall and did nothing about the commotion. You have to remember this hotel is in the middle of the Red Light District so maybe the 2 are connected.... More

Staying in Geylang

Neighborhood Profile
Geylang
Only a short journey from Singapore’s sparkling and polished city center, Geylang is a world away. Here in one of the least touristy areas of Singapore, visitors are privy to an unfiltered glimpse of Singapore life. On Sunday afternoons, migrant workers gather in Geylang to let off steam after a tough week. At the eastern end of Geylang Road, families and friends happily enjoy picnics. By contrast, at the western end, a more colorful side of Singapore can be seen, as street workers mingle with Sunday revelers in outdoor coffee shops. Take a friend, grab a beer and a local meal (frog porridge, perhaps?), and settle in to enjoy the show.
