NUMBER OF ROOMS
In a rush, booked a Superior King by mistake, Superior rooms do not have windows (dark so great for sleeping late). Our room was on the main floor so no elevator needed.. I wanted the Deluxe King which has windows, upper floor (stayed in one before). The room was fine, clean, enough lights to get by, king bed, shower, AC, TV with a few English channels (2 Fox Movie ones), kettle, tea/coffee, fridge, TV, chair, work area, lots of outlets & good wifi. Great location in Chinatown, near hawker centres, restos & all the great shops around. We've stayed here about 3 times over the years and has been a consistently good place to stay. Solid choice but next time will book a room with a window.
Great hotel for price and location. MRT station across the road from the hotel. Chinatown behind the hotel with fantastic food and shopping. Just be aware a small number of rooms do not have windows, but my kids though that was very cool! Staff were incredibly kind and helpful. I would like to particularly thank Suhail on Reception, who was able to help me with all my requests and questions. Nothing was too much trouble for Suhai!!
I have stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions. The first time was earlier this year during the Chinese New Year period, and second time just recently. The hotel is located at one of the most convenient places you can stay at in Singapore if you are a tourist. Exit through Gate E of Chinatown MRT station and it’s literally right across the road from you. Given it’s location, the actual Chinatown is located literally right behind it. Clarke Quay is only a few minutes walk away as well. Of course, with the MRT station right opposite, getting around town was too easy. On to the hotel, the rooms are adequate with virtually all the amenities that one might need. Safe lock, fridge, toothbrushes and toothpaste, shampoo, and slippers. The rooms on both occasions were clean and tidy. The “Do Not Disturb” signs often found at other hotels have been replaced with a touch-sensitive button found next to the door inside the room. Check out is relatively late - at 12pm - so that’s pretty good. Hotel also sell tickets to various tours and attractions in Singapore. They also offer a shuttle bus service to the airport, but I would recommend taking the train as it is much cheaper and given the close proximity to the station, it’s quite convenient. I’d recommend the shuttle bus service only if you have found yourself purchasing too many goods to bring home, resulting in multiple pieces of luggage, which would make using public transport a bit difficult. Overall a very nice stay and although it is not a 5-star hotel, I never felt like there’s anything else that I would need that the hotel hasn’t already provided. …
Food, transport(MRT), shopping and tourist attractions within reach. The location of hotel is central to all the activities mentioned. It’s just opposite to MRT station. Chinatown Point which has practically everything i.e. Fair trade supermarket, Diasio, Toast Box to name a few. In the evening when it’s cooler, there’s Pagoda Street to visit with various eating places and lots of souvenirs to tempt you. The hotel is very centrally located and not too big to be so busy that you feel overwhelmed. In general the hotel is clean and the staff are helpful and pleasant.
The rooms have everything that you could need -- a very comfortable bed, big walk-in shower, good view of Chinatown, refrigerator, free water and amenities daily, and CLEAN; all at less than half the price of the "Ritz"-ier hotels in Singapore (yes, we have stayed at that one, and once you're in the room, it's hard to tell any difference). It's also very quiet and low-key, but make no mistake, they are concerned about each guest, even to the extent that if you have any issue, a front-desk clerk will insist on accompanying you up to the room to immediately investigate! Have not experienced that anywhere else. Also, their check-in time is at least two hours earlier than the standard, which is a huge help after a long flight. They allowed us to book the room at their standard rate, and then switch to prepaid right before we showed up, for an additional 25% discount, for a big savings. Our second time at Bliss and we're going back in two months... to Bliss of course.…
