For a moderately priced room in Singapore, it's good. Fun neighborhood with some good restaurants and bar nearby. The service is excellent and the staff are always helpful. Free water, soda, juice, and dry snacks for all guests. The one strange thing: I'm in a single room, so it's not a big deal, but the bathroom has glass walls and... More

Very well located and easy to find, the hotel is close to Chinatown and a 5mins walk away from the nearest subway station. The staff is very friendly and helpful, you'll have fresh drinks offered at arrival and during your stay, at the reception. I had a single room, and once I entered I was struck by own tiny the... We booked the biggest suite for a family weekend staycation. This would be the final Unlisted Collection hotel we would stay in. Previous 2 hotels belonging to the Unlisted Collection (New Majestic & Wanderlust) had been pleasant, so we were expecting the same for Hotel 1929. Check-in was quite hassle-free - the front desk staff Suraj was pretty fast in... More

Hotel 1929 is in a perfect location with easy access to two train stations that literally stop at all of the cities must sees. smith street and Maxwell hawker center are prime places to eat and only a short walk away from the hotel. Staff are exceptionally helpful and helped us with organizing our bus tickets to melaka - even... More

Hi jordandis, Greetings from Hotel 1929! Thank you for taking time to share this feedback. We are delighted to learn that you had a lovely experience with us. Housed in a conservations shophouse, indeed, our rooms are more compact but great for the solo travellers! It is great to know that the Handy phone made your travels so much more... More

I was pretty surprised about the size of the room, maybe because in the photos I'd seen they looked bigger. Not super concerned about the size but I admit I'm not a huge fan of showering over the bathroom. Just felt they cut the room sizes a bit too much to fit in more rooms on each floor. The room... A boutique hotel in the heart of Chinatown in Singapore. Friendly and personable staff from receptionists to housemaids. I had a hand written welcome card from the manager on check in. A truly tiny room but one with Queen bed, small desk, flat screen tv - and a free to use in Singapore mobile for local and international calls. It... More

Booked a deluxe room but found it way too small so upgraded to a 'suite' $60 more a night). The suite was still a small room, but with a balcony and tub outside. Overall quaint with great friendly service. The suite has a Nespresso machine and that was awesome (as well as unlimited water, juice, snacks and Diet Coke). Internet... More

Stayed here in Chinatown for the first couple of days. Booked a slightly larger room because of the previous reviews of other guests. Rooms are nice and economic furnished. Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colorful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
