Came for a staycation for the 3rd time with Fullerton as we had our wedding 5 years ago here. Service is still so impeccable! Had a great high tea at courtyard and was causally speaking to Mr Lilakumar that we had our wedding here n he promptly went to ask the rooms team for a room upgrade for us. We are so touched with the extra mile to make our stay an even more memorable one in this hotel that holds so much dear memories for both my husband and I. No doubt still the best hotel in our view. Thanks to the Fullerton team for giving us a very warm n sincere service! It feels like home 😊

Being a heritage and 5 star hotel, we had high expectations before arriving and also after reading the rave reviews on the property. Disappointing to say, first impression was underwhelmed. Pre-arrival check in: - a pre-arrival form was emailed to us prior to checking in to indicate our preferred timings for the use of facilities ( pool, gym and breakfast time ) Sent and was confirmed promptly from the hotel's side. Actual checking in Day: - no porters on site to assist with the luggage. There seem to be only one staff stationed at the outside lobby area and we had to approach him for help before he went to get the luggage trolley. No smile , no greetings whatsoever.. while waiting, my 8 years old boy even whispered to me saying that the service here doesn't seem so good!! No one to verify if you have done the safe entry check- in, there is however a thermal monitor but again nobody was stationed there to ensure the people moving into the hotel was of normal temperature. Check in Area: - we went straight to a check in counter as there was no one in queue. Requesting to check-in but not realising that there were actually quite a number of people waiting in the holding areas. Was asked by the reception lady to wait for our turns. Again, no smile , no greetings even from the front desk staff. After filling in the health declaration forms, we were attended by a male staff. Thanksfully, he was warm and friendly. Room: - we booked a loft suite which the kids love running up and down the stairs. Space was definitely a bonus point for this category of room, a big outdoor balcony overlooking the bay areas too. Room looks old and dated but clean. The hotel side had remove all writing materials ( note pad n pen ) because of covid. A little inconvenience as we was looking for a pen to write something and couldn't find one. It will be ideal if a powder room can be located at the living area of the loft suite. There is only one toilet at the second floor. Straits club: - stay included afternoon tea, evening canapes and chandon breakfast. Basically, you don't get to choose what you want as the food will be served in a 3 tier tray. You only need to order beverages. Food was good. My boys love the lasagne and the burgers on one of the night during the evening canapes. Special shout-out to Paulo who remembers my younger boy's preference to have a bigger glass of orange juice. Whenever we are there, without us requesting, he will served up the big glass of OJ to him! Town Resturant: - the entire team of service crew at the Town Resturant was amazing. They simply made your day once you walk into the restaurant. Service was warm and hospitable. This should be the service standards of every department in the hotel. Pity that the reception / concerige which is the front of house failed to make that impact. Special mention goes to Abigail who really makes our breakfast experience a wonderful one. In short, the hotel is beautiful but some hit and misses from some of the staffs which make the entire staycation less perfect.

Last time we visited Fullerton in Feb 2020 and we were impressed by the quality of services and particular staff. This time, in April 2021, we stay in a Palladian Suite for a 2 days staycation and we had a negative experience overall: 1. The Fullerton is the only hotel which didn't send a pre-arrival email to book slots for pool, breakfast, checkin, restaurants, etc. 2. Checkin was a mess, we needed to wait about 30-40 minutes, everything was very slow. 3. The checkin staff insisted that we can book slots for pool, gym, etc by calling them from room, he didn't really want to assist and he tried to expedite. No info about nothing, restaurants, spa, etc. It was fun that he told us that he will upgrade to a palladian suite, which was actually the suite that we paid for. 4. The room was not very clean - it could use some vacuum cleaner and we called the housekeeping to clean the toilet - although we did checkin 10 min before, they insisted the toilet was not like that before. 5. The pool slots are non existent, you can actually go there whenever you want. 6. The straits club service was much worse than it used to be. Once the staff bring some food, the first thing they will say is: "there is only one serving". Not only that guests cannot ask for an extra sandwich or whatever, but never encountered this in another hotel club lounge in Singapore. Same for drinks - they have some terrible wine, tiger beer and 2 cocktails. The club has only 1,5h service in the evenings.
