In the middle of Chinatown with an open street food court on your door step this hotel is ideal for a short stay in Singapore. Central with train station right by, clean tidy an with character I would definitely recommend it! The down side is the breakfast in a cafe across the street that isn't very nice let's face it!... The hotel is a former opera house so has a distinctive internal style, with lots of dark red and dark wood. Perhaps too dark though. Slap bang in the heart of Chinatown, you can walk straight out onto Chinatown Food Market for some cheap eats and drinks or stroll down to Maxwell Food Centre. Many of Singapore’s sites are walkable,... More

Location is perfect If you want to move around the city since the MRT is well connected. Staff is gentle and professional. Rooms are small as it is written everywhere but you only have to sleep there. Price is okay compared to other hotel in SG. 7 eleven just around the corner, breakfast is served in front of it at... The staff is very friendly and helpful. Room is clean and free of smoke. It will be a little noisy if you're staying with a room with balcony as Chinatown is just right downstairs. Very convenient place to stay in as there's plenty of food stalls around. Get more locals food at the nearby indoor wet market during morning and... More

Before I arrived Singapore, I have sent E-mail to ask them about deposit the luggage since I am going to Malaysia 3 days. The answer is excellent for me since they said that I can deposit the luggage until I check-in. This service is free of charge!! The location is very good! What the reason I say like this?! ...... If you're looking for a really good location in Singapore, like chinatown, this is a good hotel to stay in. However, on the very first day of our stay we were given a very small room. The bed was in between two walls with a very 'hot' light. The bathroom was really wet. The safe doesn't really work. The cabinet... More

lobby decoration is special in chinese traditinal. however it's not suitable for rooms. the rooms are already very small, the red and black decorations make me feeling the room smaller, dark and depressive. room is too wet and smells moldly.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colorful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
