Stayed in this wee gem in the middle of Little India whilst passing through Singapore for a night. Whilst I wouldn't score this 5/5, it served our needs very well for the following reasons: - fun location for exploring little India/Arab St - close to lots of restaurants and eateries for when we arrived late at night - very helpful... It's really surprising to see the range of review for hotel as we had a great experience. For those who say about the lack of amenities it's clear that they're not stated on the hotel description so you can't expect them to be there. We stayed in a mono double which had lots of space, including a very large comfortable... More

My experience is same as a number of other reviews. It's more of a love hotel rather than a hotel hotel. It's fun if you are a young couple and just want to roll in bed, have a bath, eat and then roll in bed again. We stayed in two types of rooms the space loft and the origami. As... More

The room was not only very nicely decorated but it was also very innovative. Furthermore it was clean, the food was fantastic and the service really nice. Extra plus: you get a local phone with map etc. to take with you.

love the design hotels and started to stay in few of them. pricing: above normal - consider location its not in the middle of town its in little india hotel: clean and up to standard. however being smell sensitive we couldn't work out if the smell in our room was fresh paint or mould. bed was huge and very comfortable.... Staff were really helpful and friendly. Room and other areas were really clean. Our room was super small and the bed was essentially a mattress in the floor! Only suitable for a short stay and with someone you know well, the toilet is just a cubicle in the bedroom! Breakfast was really good, buffet plus some made to order items.

It is a quirky hotel. I have no problem with the design, as I think providing a bit of personality to a hotel and the rooms is a good thing to keep you distracted from the normal cookie cutter boring rooms. But the rooms need to be functional as well. I checked in late night and checked out early morning,... More

The idea is quite cool, the furniture and music are very nice but the people are not so nice. It's a nice instagram hotel but I would not come back as I did not feel welcomed at all during the 3 days we spent there, a true pitty. Also rooms could be much more functional.

We chose this hotel because we couldn't get into the Orchard Road hotel we were staying in later in the week and it looked like it had a good vibe. And it does. Very funky and cool. Staff were very cheery and helpful. Room was very tight and small (but you only get what you pay for) but cleverly set... More

This is a difficult review to write, partially because I am writing it while semi reclining on a futon mattress. Why not at a desk? This room not only does not have a desk, it lacks even one chair, nor does it have a luggage stand, a dresser, etc. In short, it lacks both space and what most would call... More

Staying in Little India

Neighborhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly colored saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colorful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Center, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colorful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Wanderlust in Little India draws madcap, curious voyagers to the old ethnic enclave. Made for guests with a sense of adventure, we invite you to walk the unconventional path where a radical hotel experience awaits. Its history began in the 1920s as the Hong Wen School, where the building at No 2 Dickson Road still retains its old-world charm with an unchanged façade. Situated 10 minutes from the cosmopolitan stretches of Orchard Road and the Central Business District; Wanderlust also offers door step access to a bustling, colourful street life. The four storey boutique hotel has 29 rooms. Just as no 2 rooms are identical, the same can be said for each floor in the hotel. It features the groundbreaking works of award-winning Singapore design agencies. Each agency was given full creative freedom to design an entire level in the hotel, resulting in four, different ‘in-your-face’ themes – ‘Industrial Glam’, ‘Eccentricity’, ‘Is It Just Black and White?‘ and ’Creature Comforts.’ ... more   less
