This is a difficult review to write, partially because I am writing it while semi reclining on a futon mattress. Why not at a desk? This room not only does not have a desk, it lacks even one chair, nor does it have a luggage stand, a dresser, etc. In short, it lacks both space and what most would call... More

Yes, this hotel is not for everyone but i loved it as i was looking for something different and it was a short stay on my own. Pantone room supercool and super friendly staff! Still i would invite the hotel to improve the status of the bedsheets (there were a few holes) and ...pls do something for the noise, not... More

Except for one element, this is a good hotel in a central location. Was given a crap room. Next morning, staff acknowledged that the room was the least comfortable and had I asked to change room, they would have done so. So, when booking, ask for: (1) room with space for bags, (2) room without aircom streaming onto bed, and... More

This was a great hotel, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic every morning and well worth the price. The loft room was very clean and adorable. The location was nice, about a 10 minute walk to the MRT Station, and the staff showed us how to get there. There's a nice Thai restaurant right next... More

This place served my purpose of being a fairly economical place to rest my head for the night which is why I give it five stars. In my opinion it is quite misleading to tout itself as a four star hotel. This is not a place for staycations or anything over one night of stay unless you still lead a... More

Well, my wife and I have tried to book different Hotels in differing areas of Singapore every time we visit/stopover. So, this time it was Little India. Different is the first word that springs to mind for this hotel. Very trendy, yes. Very practical, perhaps,???. The staff were lovely, very friendly and professional. They even took us up to view... - Expected it to be awesome, it is sugar-coated articles and reviews by bloggers. - Male Indian counter staff is very rude. - Concept is amazing only on website. In my opinion, there are other hotels that beat this hands down. Simple is sufficient. - Wanted to book for Pantone/Pantone Deluxe and Whimsical but it was booked weeks in advanced. So... More

We stayed here twice, and both times we got different themed rooms. The bed was super soft and comfortable. We enjoyed the room with the starry ceiling much more than the jungle-themed room. Breakfast was quite a nice affair, but not great. With little india at your footstep, it is better to forgo the breakfast. There is a very decent... More

This is a good value hotel in one of Singapore's more interesting areas. However, it's not for everyone. The room we had, a Pantone room, was tiny and the bed was on an awkward platform (not suitable for older people or anyone with mobility issues). The toilet was essentially a closet (not exactly private) in the room with another closet... More

Staying in Little India

Neighborhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly colored saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colorful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Center, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colorful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Wanderlust in Little India draws madcap, curious voyagers to the old ethnic enclave. Made for guests with a sense of adventure, we invite you to walk the unconventional path where a radical hotel experience awaits. Its history began in the 1920s as the Hong Wen School, where the building at No 2 Dickson Road still retains its old-world charm with an unchanged façade. Situated 10 minutes from the cosmopolitan stretches of Orchard Road and the Central Business District; Wanderlust also offers door step access to a bustling, colourful street life. The four storey boutique hotel has 29 rooms. Just as no 2 rooms are identical, the same can be said for each floor in the hotel. It features the groundbreaking works of award-winning Singapore design agencies. Each agency was given full creative freedom to design an entire level in the hotel, resulting in four, different ‘in-your-face’ themes – ‘Industrial Glam’, ‘Eccentricity’, ‘Is It Just Black and White?‘ and ’Creature Comforts.’ ... more   less
