1) The receptionist is very inpatient and very loud(walls are not sound proof) during sleeping hours. Make sure you don't wear your shoes in the dirty hall way if not she will hunt you down. Choose in between being hunted or stepping on the dirty floor. She was complaining about why the floors are dirty at 8 o'clock in the... More

I did not Feel At Home. I felt tearably let down. I had a confirmed, prepaid booking. When I showed up they turned me away. They did not have a room for me nor a refund. They took me to another place that was more expensive and noisy. I spent a fair amount of time ringing the bell and banging... More

Adelene met us on the day we arrived and was extremely helpful right up till the last day. She was friendly and remarkably experienced. Despite the small rooms, the place was clean all the time, also thanks to Adelene efficiency!

Simple place, and basic facilities, but excellent location and very friendly host. Perfect for those who intend to not spend time inside but rather explore the city. Location close by metro stop and bus to Malaysia, walking distance from central attractions, and right at the muslim district which is great for going out (live music, drinks, water pipe). Extremly helpful... More

The rooms are small but the aircon in them works well. The shared bathrooms could do with an upgrade but work fine. The breakfast is just a few slices of toast, but its a start to the day. Bascially the place is fine to spend the night as long as you are out for the day

We stayed here for one night. It was close to the bus stop to KL and close to a shopping centre and the Encounter escape room that we did. We moved here because our other hostel (Moni Gallery) was unbelievably awful. The free WIFI was very fast. The bathrooms were a little grubby but fine. The bedroom was pretty small... More

Had a wonderful time staying here and enjoyed my trip to Singapore. I wasn't very sure about this place after reading previous reviews. However, I decided to give it a try regardless, and I was treated very well. The rooms are definitely value for money, especially with the location of the hostel, right in the heart of the city! I... Location was pretty good, wifi was so fast! but the rooms are tiny for how much you pay and the bathrooms are just a little awkward to use, not much info was given about breakfast and i didn't see any sight of it?

brilliant location & although shabby, this hostel is kept very clean. as a senior age traveller, i have become rather picky but i would use this hostel again in the future. it was quiet enough at night for a good sleep which is very important to me. at present there are no dorms - only twin & double rooms -... Staying in Kampong Glam

Neighborhood Profile
Kampong Glam
This traditionally Malay enclave of Singapore offers an alluring array of shops, cafes, and bars. A walk down Haji Lane offers quirky shopping, while one block over, Arab Street is a treasure trove of brightly colored fabrics, clothing, and Turkish rugs. Stop for a leisurely coffee or cocktail and watch local kids play traditional games along the lane. Also home to the Malay Heritage Center and one of Singapore’s most prominent mosques (Sultan Mosque), Kampong Glam is a must-visit for a tantalizing taste of Malay life in this city.
