We stayed at Six Senses Duxton as the final stay on our way home from a 4 week holiday. The hotel interior is decorated luxuriously and tastefully in a colour palate of black and yellow. We arrived in the evening and were greeted by friendly welcoming staff before being shown to our opium suite. The room was lovely and comfortable, probably the best mini bar of any hotel I have stayed in the world. The room was quiet and the bed very comfortable. The only negatives were for someone like myself who stands at 6’1 tall, I had to keep bowing as the ceiling light is very low and to enter the bedroom area the door frame height was low, given the history of the building it just added to the character of the room and was something that I got used to. Their also wasn’t anywhere to store suitcases or hang clothes which was a little frustrating having our bags open on the floor and having to step over them. Yellow Pot restaurant staff and food were fantastic, with the duck being a highlight. It was so good we returned the following day for lunch. If you are wanting facilities such as a pool then you will need to walk a few blocks to their other hotel Maxwell for use of the facilities. Overall, it was a lovely stay and it is in a great location.

Dear lukehunter4, hello from Singapore and greetings from the Six Senses Duxton, our wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of China Town. I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your comments, especially in regards to our overall design, the friendliness of our hosts and our Minibar, indeed one of the best I have ever seen as well. I've note on your comments in regards to the rooms size and the height in particular, give to the heritage and history of our hotels we were unfortunately not able to change the size and design. Thank you one more time for your review and stay safe and healthy. Best regards Mathias Gerds General Manager Six Senses Singapore

I was curious to give the first of Six Senses’ city hotels a try and I wasn’t disappointed. Yes, the decor is certainly on the dark/black side, both in the public areas and in the rooms, but the hotel is full of character and you can clearly see its historic past. I had a warm welcome, with quick and efficient check in, along with a welcome drink with a cold towel. I stayed in a King Opium Suite which was very well appointed and the design was well thought of. Overall the suite is a good size as a standard room but when you divide it into the sleeping area and living area, it does make it feel a little crammed. The bed was very comfortable with plush pillows. There is a mini bar with complimentary cold water and milk for tea. Tea and coffee are also available and complimentary. I enjoyed the locally curated loose teas available in the room. The suite had a washroom with a double shower and amenities in large reusable dispensers, part of the brand’s commitment to sustainability. The room also had a Sonos sound system along with items used to enhance wellness from ancient Chinese traditions, such as the singing bowl! There are a few elements that are already showing wear, such as the loose door nob into the washroom, or the shower dial which comes off with ease. Also, the USB ports on one side of the bed did not work. Some of the fabrics such as the cushion covers by the lifts also show some wear. That said, I didn’t mind all those things. The hotel does have a feel of wellness about it and found the environment very calm and relaxing. The hotel restaurant, Yellow Pot is certainly a highlight. The food is delicious and the staff very friendly and helpful. Service is very efficient. I enjoyed dinner there and breakfast the following morning. Breakfast is a la carte and if it is included in your room rate, it covers two of the small/light dishes and one of the main dishes along with fruit juice and tea/coffee. The hotel location is also perfect for visiting China Town. Everything is within walking distance. The area has many restaurants and bars/coffee shops. It is also a 5 minute walk from the Six Senses Maxwell where you can use the Spa facilities as well as the pool. All in all, I had an enjoyable stay and would recommend the Six Senses Duxton.

Perfectly located in a Tanjong Pajar, within easy walking distance to Chinatown and to the MRT, for access to most places in Singapore. The property is set among colourful shop-houses and is visually stunning, with an old world charm. The service was excellent, the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Guests looking to relax around a pool or spa can use the facilities at Six Senses Maxwell House, a short walk away (a couple of blocks). Will definitely return.

More than a hotel, it's an experience. Six Senses Duxton is a unique and visually stunning hotel within the walls of heritage shop-houses. So many thoughtful touches were included at check-in and in our room. The hotel group practices sustainability and a lot of the food in the restaurant is organically grown by the hotel. All the staff are fabulous; welcoming, friendly and helpful but there were a few who really went above and beyond to make our stay special. Wan Ting went out of her way to find me a book about the hotels designer, Sunther arranged a special anniversary surprise in our room and Sarah was a bright and happy addition to the restaurant staff. The location is great, you can borrow a bike and cycle around Singapore or just wander through the local area.

I had a wonderful time there besides a few hiccups. The room and amenities itself was great and exceeded our expectation. However, when we checked in we did not know that our package workshop has a standard timing which we had to adhere too nor were we informed. Additionally, we did not know that facilities for SS Maxwell are opened to guest at SS Duxton which was unfortunate as we did not pack any appropriate attire. The reception made an exception to the alchemy bar workshop and we manage to have a wonderful experience there on a Sunday morning. Dinner at SS Maxwell Six Sense Brasserie was splendid with the food, ambience and especially the hospitality of Pandian, the supervisor at the restaurant. He truly made our valentine celebration a special one by making us feel right at home. Breakfast at the Yellow Pot was not too great as the service staff took a long time to get back to us and the crab cake that served taste more like hashbrowns than anything else.
