Just spent a night at the Sofitel Sentosa for my husband's birthday. Very disappointed in the overall experience; 1. Staff poorly trained, unable to understand 5 star service: forgetting orders, bringing mains at same time as starters, giving us bill while still eating. 2. Room unclean, despite reminders for guests to stay clean with sanitiser save facemasks our room was dirty - dust on bedside tables and tea marks on the desk. 3. Food quality very poor. The food isn't freshly made on site, instead they have opted for mass-produced poor quality frozen food which they heat up. 4. Dinner package was very basic with additional charges for simple extras such as vegetables to accompany a main of a piece of chicken. Dessert was pre packaged frozen tart you buy from any supermarket but incurred an additional charge of $5 each. 5. Only allowed to stay in the pool for 2 hrs per day, we were not informed of this until we arrived there. What else are you going to do on a staycation than lie at the pool - we're not in Sentosa for the destination since every guest clearly lives here. The walls of the pool are covered in black grease, see photo of marks on legs after swimming. 6. Spa section very depressing. The message itself was good but the facilities are attrocious - pool was filthy, sauna closed for maintenance and all other areas in the garden were closed. Planned to spend an entire day at the spa but left shortly after the massage. It's evident that the lockdown has affected revenue which I am very sympathetic to, hence the reason for booking an expensive staycation. However Sofitel are attempting to recover lost revenue by increasing margin on cheap food, untrained staff and no cleaning nor maintenance, whilst charging premium rates. My advice, don't underestimate consumer power - we're in this together but only if you treat us properly. Drop the greed and either reduce your rates to the 3 Stars you're currently performing at, or step up the quality. I won't be returning and advise other would be guests to assess if they would be comfortable spending $1.3K on a $500 stay.

Hotel's Favorite
Booked a weekend birthday stycation, first hotel booking since the circuit breaker lockdown period began. I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend a visit to give that relaxing holiday feel while still at home in Singapore. The food quality and choices (Cliff restaurant dinner, Kwee Zeen breakfast and room service) exceeded my expectations and I would return to visit Sofitel Sentosa again just for dinner. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful but a few really stood out and need specific mention. I originally had made a mistake in booking the room booking and could not use my Accor All platnium upgrade benefit. Naturally I was a bit upset but the front desk staff was really kind, helpful, made me feel weclome and went out of their do what they could to make sure my stay was a memorable one. I think the hospitality and professionalism of front desk staff exceeded my expectations even for a prestigious brand such as Sofitel. Samantha and Farah are exceptional employees who go above and beyond the call of duty that Accor should be proud to have as a member of their team. I also need to mention a member of the pool staff, Sarah, who despite being extremely overwhemed and understaffed at the poolside this holiday weekend rush, he was constanly running back and forth fullfilling orders and despite some delays he was able to accomodate all of the guests. I never saw him idle for a minute during the two hours i visited the pool. All in all, this was a 5 star visit for Sofitel Sentosa Resort and has exceeded my expectations despite all of the recent changes and regulations needed in these stressful times. If you're thinking of a weekend staycation getaway book a room at the Sofitel Sentosa Resort and be a part of the restoration of the great travel and hospitality industry here in Singapore.

I will like to start by complimenting a staff that has been providing us a 6 stars service standard. His name is Aaron, he is very accommodating to our request and knowledgeable about the places around the island. He also offered to bring us around the island. Aaron is definitely an asset to the company and we really enjoyed our stay in Sofitel Sentosa. Hope to have him serve us again in our next visit.

I'll be honest - I was not expecting to see an onslaught of negative reviews in the days leading up to my stay, especially since it didn't seem like the Sofitel Sentosa that I knew, but decided to keep an open mind anyway. Very happy that I did - and for what its worth, I had a great time and would recommend a stay. Sure, service can be spotty and slow at times, but I would caution against comparing it to "pre-COVID" experience / expectations. Breakfast has been switched to a la carte ordering, instead of the usual buffet, but portions were generous and service was quick. Reservations have to be made for the pool, but I had no problems making one and capacity was quite carefully controlled. Dinner at The Cliff was good (order the pastas)! Farah at the Front Desk, Sarah from the Spa and an older Chinese man at Kwee Zeen/The Cliff (didnt catch his name) were exceptionally warm and made us feel very welcome. In fact, there was a day when we were rushing to get to/from the Spa, and the staff spared no efforts in helping us to get a buggy ASAP! Perhaps the key to having a better experience would be to book a stay on the weekdays, and head to the dining spots early...
