Place to stay in Sentosa: Luxury resort with 5 star service and amenities
One of (if not) the highlights in our 2 week Singapore family trip transferring from another 5 star Orchard road hotel - celebrating a birthday and kid's first trip overseas (post pandemic) I wanted to organize a memorable experience for them. We booked a suite and were provided with a large Prestige family suite which was perfect for 3/4 persons. The suite itself was beautiful and clean and the 'high tea' setup with treats and stuffed peacock for the children was a lovely touch and we all loved that personalized touch. The hotel also provided children's dressing gowns and slippers, I have not seen this in ANY of my world wide travelers before, a cute touch. Sutha ensured check in was smooth as butter even though we were checking in early before attending Adventure Cove, she was so welcoming and warm - an asset to the Sofitel, and a consummate professional indeed! The service went beyond our expectations when she also organize Rai (what a lovely service focused man!) chauffeured us to Resort World in the Rolls Royce - just wow, made my Audi RS look bland! I couldn't forget Omar who was always smiling and chatting to the kids - the front of house staff have it down pat. Travelers note Resort World - eg Universal, Adventure Cove and Aquarium are only a short drive away via taxi, bus. I was informed there was a Sofitel shuttle which went to and fro between Vivo city. We used this a couple of times and it was great. Note it leaves from Harbour Front MRT exit D. On a side note, the family really enjoyed all attractions, but particularly Universal (get an express pass) and Adventure cove (bring sunscreen, shampoo and face wash and there's a locker for a small fee there). Don't forget to take a photo of the QR code at reception so you don't get charged leaving the island in a car. When entering via vehicle ensure to have your hotel email confirmation to avoid paying unnecessary nominal island entrance fees. The excellent service didn't stop there, Adrian at Cliff Restaurant was amazing ensuring the fussy kids were promptly looked after and treated like royalty. The traditional Italian menu was great - quite surprising to see in Asia, and up there with some of the best Italian food I've eaten in Europe and Australia. As an Accor Plus member, we also enjoyed 50% off the al la carte adults menu, great value and quality indeed. We had buffet breakfast included and Peter and his assistant manager and team were also a stand out - so well trained, there is definitely a noticeable consistency in this resort for excellent service. Serving up to 500 covers per day they orchestrate the shift perfectly such that when I spoke to other guests everyone was impressed. After enjoying buffet breakfast at the previous city hotel, we were looking for s wider variety here and it did not disappoint. The outdoors dim sum menu including hot noodle soup (changed daily from laksa, chicken noodles and beef noodles), sui mai and lovely array of Indian naan and curries is truly a point of difference. For those guests who have an egg allergy and cannot enjoy the made to order egg station, there is a substitute egg station - something I haven't seen in my global travels at luxury accommodation before, very thoughtful! Ensure you try breakfast here, it's a must! Especially if you like kaya or Nutella - there's a automatic Nutella machine, which the kids miss. The amenities were very impressive too. The 33m pool was hit with the 2 kids and there's a short walk to the beach down the 100 odd steps, the beach club was fun to soak up the sun and lie in the warm sea (which appeared to have some kind of shark / jell fish net for safety - for those concerned). The kids also loved the included amenity where fish nibble at toes next to the bar. I noticed staff consistency drying the marble like floor to ensure safety - there hard work did not go unnoticed. The gym equipment and ambience was great, it looked well maintained and more than enough (for an experience weight lifter) to get anyone through their resort stay. I understand it was open 24-7 too. We also noticed beautiful peacocks roaming in the garden and a large chess board at the edge of the resort for those who want to test their strategic brains. It seemed nothing was a bother for the service staff, I had tailored suits being delivered to the resort from Orchard Road and they ensured a smooth and secure delivery straight to my suite. Thank you kindly! In summary, don't look any further when researching a stay at Sentosa, you simply can't go wrong staying here. Highly recommended for adults, families and sundry! A big thank you to the GM of the hotel Giovanni Viterale, for making a life long memory for the kids and I. Our family will return next time but with the third baby and all!

    Changes during phase 2
The hotel is still surprisingly quite busy even though it’s still phase 2 in SG. Gone are the priority checkin for Accor members. Everyone will have to queue:( So much for being a loyal member). Breakfast was always chaotic in Sofitel Sentosa but during this time, it’s actually pretty good as your food is served to you. Quite a peaceful experience. Just scan the QR code to see menu to order. The menu for lunch and dinner are all the same now regardless if you are in Kwee Zeen or Cliff or Le bar. That means you can pretty much sit anywhere to get the same food. The gym building has been demolished (near So Spa) and a temporary gym is located near Cliff restaurant! There is a staff stationed in the small gym and he will clean after each session (good but quite uneasy with a staff stationed inside at all times) Our favourite restaurant The garden is closed permanently:( Hope something good will open soon. Thankfully the So Spa is still there, though the orchids there died and the mud bath dried up too:( I noticed there is also no more beautiful orchids in the suites too...sad. No more Lavin or Hermes toiletries as those has been replaced by a clinical standard plastic packs with the rest of the amenities. The Sofitel bedroom slippers has been replaced with cheaper standard white slippers. Sanitizer spray and hand sanitizer are provided The suites also starting to aged. The room we stayed also has water leaking into the floor:( We requested a change of room. Generally still a good hotel amidst challenging times. So the general feel is really has luxurious. Times are bad and cost cutting measures i guess.
Bonjour jryc, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are delighted to hear that you've had an enjoyable overall experience during your recent stay. Indeed, we have put in place stringent safety protocols to safeguard your well-being - all in-room amenities are now single-used to avoid cross contamination. We are deeply appreciative of your kind understanding in these unprecedented times as we do our best to find the balance between safety and service. We look forward to welcoming you back as we embark on this new journey. Have a lovely day. Best Regards, Piotr Kupiec General Manager

A much better stay than the previous one in June 2021
This was a much better stay that that in June 2021. The June stay was marred by a lot of unhappiness over their service quality including in-room dining service taking more than 70mins to arrive (though the standard turnaround time stated in their response when ordering was half an hour to deliver), made worse with missing items, such as bacon missing from the American breakfast and scrambled eggs turning up instead of the sunny sides ordered. This round we also saw a lot more staff in the compound than the previous stay so it is good to see the hotel pulling up their socks after hearing from guests. Perhaps an area to work on is that out of 10 staff that the hotel staff saw us, only 1 of them greeted us. This probably pales in comparison to some of the other top tier hotels. The increased staff strength also resulted in an improvement in areas such as the OneTouch hotline. While it took nearly a minute before the phone was picked up, at least somebody picked up the phone as compared to my experience in June. Having said that, hotels such as Shang and Mandarin Oriental took less then 10 seconds for the operator to pick up the phone, so this is definitely an area that Sofitel should continue working on. The phone handset I had in my current stay did not stink so perhaps their management read my comment for the June stay and changed all their phones or at least sprayed some refresher. We have stayed at this hotel for at least 10 occasions and our room always come with a bathtub and separate standing shower cubicle so we were surprised to see that the room of our current stay did not have a standing shower cubicle. This posed a challenge during bathe time as we have a kiddo with us. Also the room appeared much smaller than the previous rooms that we have stayed in. We would like to commend Li Ming of the housekeeping team for doing a great job and presenting us with a towel elephant. Sofitel also did a minor renovation of their swimming pool which will definitely be welcomed by guests as it now looks cleaner. Food wise, the Cliff was a good choice but Kwee Zen could do with some improvement. During the dinner buffet, 5 out of 5 mussels were unopened so I am concerned on the quality of their supplies. As an Accor Plus guest, I noted that their welcome drink list has shrunk until there is no longer any cocktail on the list, so it appeared that cost cutting measures have been prioritized over customer sataisfaction. Overall I will give the current stay a 4 stars rating. With more new hotels coming up in Sentosa, the Sofitel probably has to do better to secure its footprint. We will be staying at the newly opened Oasia Sentosa next month so it will be interesting to see how these 2 hotels fare in comparison.

We loved our stay and experience in your hotel, albeit for 3 days from the 23rd of September. Spacious room is tastefully decorated while the bed embraces you in comfort. You’re not afforded much room space in other city-based hotels Singapore so having that much room for my husband and I was appreciated. You can’t help but take pride of the team. Team members are diligent and do a fantastic job for constant upkeep required for the sprawling space. There was a downpour in one of the days we stayed and staff ensured surfaces were safe to walk on. Even the pool area where little fish nibble on your feet (my boys enjoyed them so much) is maintained at a consistent standard for comfort and to minimise mishaps from wet surfaces. Not only the upkeep is done to a standard but the hospitality of your staff is worth an acknowledgment too. We enjoyed the seafood buffet which was such a treat to be part of our dining package when we stayed over the weekend. The 3-course dinner is worth a mention because of the more than adequate proportion. Butter chicken was very tasty and delicious. We are a group of 5 with two kids in tow and was able to avail of dining options good for 4 paying adults hence we felt like we had a lot to indulge on. Special thanks to Steven at the concierge for his lovely assistance when we arrived; Robert at Kwee Zeen for doing a great work at making our dining experience a pleasure; Tong, one of the chefs, for the lovely chat at the outside breakfast bar; Annie at housekeeping for offering extra supply for water especially that I drink quite a lot of it Marcus at the pool for the lovely chat and for his unexpected kind gesture of gifting my boys a popcorn bag each. We were leaving the pool to head quickly to the bar when one of my boys asked for popcorn. To my surprise, popcorn was waiting for the boys in their room! A small few things that can be looked into: condensation on level 5 hallway collects a small pool of water on the floor, directly under the vents. Gurgling sound of water from tap going into the drain. A minor issue at that. Once again, thank you for one of the most relaxing stays we’ve had!

I had the most amazing birthday celebration for my Fiancee, all thanks to the Sofitel team. I would like to specially mention: - Matthew (Director of Quality Assurance). He communicated with me weeks in advance before the stay to arrange with me the birthday surprises. During the check in, he personally welcomed us and brought us to the room. The room decorations and hand-written cards were very thoughtful. Matthew also personally brought the cake to the room when we were out. Thank you for your efforts and friendliness that made us feel so comfortable throughout! - Front desk, for being so kind and friendly and witty with us during our check in and check out! - Farah from Kwee Zeen. She was very kind to us, and when she found out that it was my Fiancee's birthday, she put a candle on a stack of pancakes and brought it over to us. Very nice gesture from her! - Chef Woody from Pastry team. He came back specially on his off day to bake the delicious cheese cake for my Fiancee's birthday. Very nice of him to make the effort to come down on his off day! Thank you for the awesome service team! We will be back!

Recently spent 9 days at the Sofitel Sentosa with my two teenage boys. What a great choice! Booked a family room which meant we had two separate rooms (heaps of space). Very well appointed and lux feel. My only criticism is that milk should be provided as part of the great coffee station. The resort is on a very large property. Lovely Singapore feel unlike some of the city hotels which are beautiful but not overly Asian. We had buffet breakfast included which was great. Dining at the Cliff restaurant was lovely although not cheap (but nothing in Singapore other than taxis is cheap!). Room service was good and the spa was lovely (although could do with some love as it felt slightly abandoned which was odd considering the resort was pristine). Service was great with the exception of check in which was disorganised and took ages - not a great first experience. Our rooms weren’t ready despite it being after official check in. I am so glad we made the decision to stay on Sentosa, away from the city hustle. Don’t be put off by the distance. There is a free hotel shuttle and island bus and taxis are quick and cheap. Loved the whole experience - recommend (but be prepared to pay!)

Dined in The Cliff and had a good time with good food. Appreciate Chef Paolo's food and Nataliya's high quality service. Experienced a slight hiccup in the food but Chef Paolo made it all right and more; the true standard of the food and view is worth every penny and I genuinely recommend everyone to experience it at least once in their time here in Sofitel Sentosa.

I had a reasonably good stay at the mentioned establishment, with mixed sentiments. On the up side, the entire resort in terms of appearance, cleanliness and comfort, reflected well with it's Sofitel brand reputation and ratings. The room I stayed in was clean with comfortable bedding. Service at Kwee Zeen, one of the 3 main food and beverage outlets was excellent, especially host Farah who took care of guests with a smile, and was very attentive and helpful. On the downside, service can be quite passive aggressive. We had an issue at check in which was resolved but the guest officer who served us was pretty cold initially. Product knowledge among other staff members may need improvement. When enquired with guest services over the telephone about the bus shuttle service to Vivo City , I was given the wrong timings. I requested for a morning wake up call. Due tiredness, I missed the call and was instead woken up with loud knocks on the door. Eventually, the door was literally forced open and that caused the door chain to be dislodged as by 2 staff members who with raised voices, called out to us. Startled by this, I got up and went to see the source of the noise and saw the said staff members at the door. Still in a half awake state, I replied to them saying I was expecting a wake up call by phone. A lady staff member then retorted by saying I should have replied to the phone call. On hindsight, the hotel probably thought that this was a good idea to check on the guests who missed the wake up call and too see if all was ok. Overall,I will still highly rate the overall hotel experience as excellent. And will recommend it as being top notch.

The room in Tranquility Wing was quiet enough for rest and a good view of the greenery. The staff from the front desk, room service and at the F&B were warm and friendly. Although a short stay, it was peaceful to unwind. Will come back again. Shout outs to Jia Hong, Kamal, Mimi, Guna and Alson
