This is such an odd review and the only way i can articulate it is using the words “beautifully confused” in terms of what this hotel wants to be. Before i go into my feedback i want to say overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay but it all falls back to whether it lives up to the hype and value for money. So in terms of hype it does and it dosnt (see feedback below), value for money? Absolutely no im afraid. Would i stay here again? Absolutely yes but only at discounted rates. So here goes: - we booked a romantic package and you are provided with rose petals on the bed, bath tub, dinner table etc, which is fabulous, but the water run in the tub was cold, no rose petals for breakfast. CONFUSED: why not make the extra little bit of effort to make customers feel they have value for money? - we stayed at Villa 11, beautifully spacious room and amazing style, but the rugs are filthy, furnitures old, mini bar is literally MINI, furniture is quite old looking and some areas are peeling. The outside bath can be viewed by guests on higher floors, there is a gap in the wall as well so people can see u bathe, CONFUSED - the outdoor splash pool is so beautiful, we took some amazing pics, but the table outside has multiple holes in it, the chair had bird poo, flies and mosquitoes, we noticed there was mosquito stuff inside the room, are guests expected to install it themselves? CONFUSED - the living room tea: we arrived ordered, then 2 other couples came after, they got their stuff before us, so after 25 mins we asked have u forgotten our order, they said “ok ill just check”. Came back with our tea and food, not a single apology, just “thanks for your patience”. We said no issues but can you bring milk and sugar, again they forgot, brought it over after 10 mins and no apology, we just left cus we had a spa appointment. CONFUSED - the spa amenities: beautiful jacuzzi area with a wide range of free services like hot and cold shower, ice fountain, steam room, jacuzzi with back and neck fountain, loved it and spent 90 minutes in here, but sit on the metal seat and u will see the exposed metal is covered in limescale... how? CONFUSED - pool: 3 beautiful pools and ALOT OF very instagrammy angles available, but full of leaves and bits and bobs. Pool opens at 7 i believe, it wasn’t cleaned until like after 9! The deck area is also full of leaves flying around. CONFUSED - gym: lovely gym but tiny and basic, which is fine, but only 4 people allowed - dinner: this to me is the mostly wildly confusing part. We have a set menu as a part of the package, the main was a choice of cod or wagyu beef something or other. We ordered one of each and then we also wanted to try the beef short rib (actual name). The waitress said nothing and put in the order which we were fine with. When they arrived the beef short rib was exactly the same as the wagyu beef but they used different names. When we asked the waitress about it she said yes its the same. So why on earth did you not say and why on earth do they have different names? At checkout we found that we were not charged for it, and for that we are grateful, but it still doesn’t explain the confusion! Again overall we loved the stay but way overpriced for the actual experience, the hotel just needs to decide what it wants to be and how they will achieve it. In its current state it definitely cannot be ranked as one of the top hotels. …
Staff were excellent and bent over backwards. Villa was great, we were in No27 but unfortunately only gets a small amount of sun. Setting of hotel is great, bit of a Botanical Garden and it is well positioned with direct access to Palawan Beach Walk and the Beach. We only ate at the hotel and The Knolls was great ofr both breakfast and dinner. Hotel accommodation is a bit on the pricy side.
Booked a stay for my birthday celebration last month. It was such a great experience to start with a spacious room that can accommodate my kids running around. They had decorated the room as I had informed them I will be celebrating my birthday. The lady in the front office set the bar high as our basis for service standard.
Stayed at Capella last week, the room was delightful. It really big and spacious, the team had very nicely decorated upon our arrival and they even arranged a very thoughtful and nice romantic turndown service. I must say all the staff really pay attention to details. Ms. Qamarina handled my check in and was very helpful throughout our stay. Whenever we walked by, and she saw us, she would greet us very cheerfully. I believe during my stay i had quite a few requests and demands, but ms qamarina would assists us with it without any hesitation and just did everything possible to make us really comfortable during our stay at the Capella. She even went above and beyond, highlighting and recommending good places to have photos taken within capella. She helped my partner and i take many nice photos to remember capella. Mr Wilbur and Ms Intan were both also very friendly and you could see them beaming with joy and happiness, (smiles even with a mask on). They created many conversations with us, also constantly checked in with us to see if they could do anything more to make our stay more comfortable. They gave recommendations for things to do, workshops and activities to take part in. This was a really nice touch of which we really appreciate greatly. At the knolls, Mr Kalai took us to our table for dinner, which was also very nicely decorated. Created a very nice ambience for our dinner. Food at the knolls was good, we were presented with a dessert complimentary from the restaurant as part of our celebrations. All arranged by Mr Kalai, a very big thank you to you. We willd definitely be back, looking forward to more warm and gracious hospitality. …
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Capella Singapore. Firstly, we got married there, and it was a marvellous experience. From the planning of the event, to the wedding flowers, and the execution on the actual day, we felt very supported all the way through. We had 4 attentive staff servicing my wife throughout the event; one helping her with the bouquet, one with her dress, one making sure that she was well hydrated, and another one who was time-keeping for her. After the event, they even brought out hotel slippers to switch out her heels so she could move around comfortably. As for me, the Capella staff tended to me during a mini 'blooper' choking incident, which I had while rushing to eat before a friend's speech. They promptly gave me warm water and mints to soothe my throat. All throughout the event, my wife and I felt super safe with the Capella team. Their eye for detail is excellent! After that, we had our 5D4N honeymoon there. The same 4 staff who tended to us at the wedding showed up at the buffet breakfast to greet us & celebrated us as a wedded couple. They served us each champagne at 830am and ensured that we were well-adjusted at the hotel. The breakfast experience was really enjoyable. The food tasted clean and was skillfully put together. Although we stayed for 5 days, we felt the breakfasts were well-thought-through as the selections of dishes differed from day to day. The dinner at Knolls and drinks at Bob's Bar were top-notch as well. Throughout our stay, we were wowed by Capella's excellent service. Everywhere we went, the staff greeted us by name and remembered our special occasion. They even took note of my wife's birthday during the stay and surprised her with a cake and champagne by the pool. Our honeymoon stay was also packed with activities curated by Capella. From bubble tea making session, to cocktail blending session, to painting and afternoon high tea, we didn't even need to leave the hotel space. We especially enjoyed the swimming pools and spa facilities. All in all, Capella Singapore provided us with an unforgettable and wonderful stay. We have yet to experience another hotel with this high level of service excellence.
