I arrived the day after typhoon so half of the resort did not have a roof. In typical Philippine resilience the staff were working and trying to accommodate me. In terms of value, as a solo traveller not wanting to hostel this was the best on Boracay. It is clean, well maintained and importantly locally owned and managed. For me, perfect-super relaxed, lovely staff and I really liked the location-station 3-away from chaos of further up the beach. This is not a 5 star luxury resort but very much value for money in an otherwise over priced area. Thanks for having me and accommodating me!
We were staying at the private small Bamboo bungalow. No AC just a fan. Hot water. Nice variations of breakfast but the best one is the farmer's one. The place is not expensive and people who works there are pretty friendly and nice. Place located just 2/3 min walk from the beach. We actually spent the most of our day time outside! But if u look for a cheap comfy place I definitely recommend you the Orchids Resort! Cheers :)
My partner and I had a lovely stay here staff fantastic minute walk to beach rooms clean and natural surroundings if you want posh and concrete it's not for you but if you want a real authentic experience this is place x x x
The place looks and smells like a junk heap with trash every where. The place so bad some cat pee and poop my eyes were consistently watering and the smell was unbearable. The manager did not seem to mind and sat where it was the worst. The place in in bad need of repair with floor boards constantly breaking as you walk on them. I had insect bits every morning after sleeping in the bed. The interest was terrible and I am being generous with thought on it. There were huge structural problems with the buildings that went ignore. Once a great resort that has been run into the group totally.
The hotel looks old but unique because of their Kubo inspired rooms. Recommended for travelers who are on a budget. 3 minuites walk from away the beach. We stayed in their nipa hut house since we are 20 who spend our summer in bora.
Maayos naman at malinis. Tahimik yung place pero malayo sa main road you need to walk like 5 mins but 2 mins lang papunta ng beach. Malinis yung room pero medyo maalikabok ang cr. Malamig yung aircon.
We stayed here for 3 nights. We enjoyed everything in this hotel - staff, air conditioning, and ambience. It was a unique hotel. It showed a typical Filipino houses in the past. It was quite old and needed to be remodeled to compete with the neighboring hotels in the area. Approximately 30 minutes walked to Station 1.
We have been to Orchids twice already and this is our third visit. We loved Orchids resort and I have always raved about how nice and rustic the cottages are, how you cannot beat the affordable price and breakfast included...to me it was really the best of Boracay...how you can still visit paradise at an affordable price. This year we came back. And sadly, things have deteriorated for this beloved resort. The rooms smell bad, as in really bad. I can't place the smell but maybe the beds and beddings need to be changed or the whole room renovated...it was quite unpleasant and i am not being picky or a snob -- remember its our third time here and we loved the orchids-- the place probably does really need some repairs or upgrading done to it. the doors to our room need fixing, they removed the breakfast inclusion and i did not know that it was changed...found out only when we arrrived. Not really complaining...perhaps it just wasnt profitable to include breakfasts at that price point anymore...too many cats in the dining area/kitchen...i dont hate cats but 4 or more cats pestering you at the table and even the kitchen during meals was really stressful. Staff were still nice but i found it weird that they had a drinking session right there in front of guests on our first night...it just didnt feel right that they were drinking there on the job. We cut our stay short and moved to a different place. I could have lived with everything else but drew the line at the bad smelling rooms and the broken door...i am really sorry this happened to the orchids. Perhaps they just need to be renovated and management needs to wake up or something. Just sad to have seen this deterioration to a beloved vacation place. But i still wish them the best and hope the situation there improves for the sake of other holiday "returners" like us who had/have such good memories of this place. …
• The place is located at Station 3, 3-5 minute walk to the beach. • The place is a typical Kubo-like packed with Aircon, TV and some essentials to your stay. • The name is after Orchids because they are surrounded by orchids and other types of flowers. • They give complimentary coffee • Most of their staff is boys and they are all accommodating.
We are a family of 8 that booked in this place. We reserved for one villa with 10 beds. I would say that its an ordinary accommodation. We liked the aircon. The beds however are not friendly since the elders had backpains upon waking up. There is just one toilet and bath where the exhaust fan is not working. The smell is bad and they dont do housekeeping. The staff however are just so friendly and we could do some cooking with minimal cost.
