Visited in Jan 2020 and had one of the most special trips ever. It was so difficult to choose a hotel when there is such a wide choice, but this was not a choice I regretted the location with the private beach , the beautiful sunsets and the amazing cocktails was just the cherry on the top for a perfect holiday. My special Thank you to Janevic , the duty manager for your special acknowledgment of our anniversary celebration and a BIG thank you to Marl at breakfast... your service and personal care to make sure that I had fresh juice , my special vegetarian breakfast and remembering the little details is just beyond anything words could express. A property that I would highly recommend.
I had visited this hotel during the Christmas holidays for 5 days. This hotel chain is a big brand and had expected that will get a similar 5 star treatment as in other Movenpick hotels. But this property is far from being called a 5 star. It started with we were made to wait at the jetty pick up point for 45 mins as there wasn’t any Movenpick transport to pick us up. This is despite the fact we got a confirmation from them and they charged us the full amount for it. Then on reaching hotel at 5pm, we were told the rooms were not ready, and we were asked to wait. Now what is the point of 3pm checkin when they can’t even give the room. We only ended up getting our room by 5.45pm. I have an Accor Group membership and requested them to update my details, for that also they refused, stating that they can’t update Accor membership points as it’s under transition with the chain. I am shocked that Movenpick brand hotel is refusing their members for points update. The hotel was completely understaffed, there is not much of senior management. They run out of common things like Coconut water, regular coke by evening, and the response you get from the server, that there are lot of people so it’s finished. We don’t expect a hotel of this stature to give this kind of response of non availability of common things. When you confront the supervisor or whoever the staff is the monotonous response was sorry we can’t help you. I will definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Boracay. Really had a terrible experience! …
If you want to be humiliated and treated like a criminal, then this is the perfect hotel for you!!!! My husband and I were staying at the Shangrila Hotel that is right beside Movenpik. We were looking for a venue to hold our daughter’s birthday on Jan 2, so we walked on the beach that is shared by Shangrila, Movenpik and Crimson. As soon as we reached Movenpik, we were stopped by a security guard, who asked us if we were staying in the hotel. We informed him that we wanted to go to the lobby to inquire abt the possibilty of having a party in one of their venues... His answer: No, because only guest staying in the hotel could enter.... Duh!!!! So, we asked him, if we could go to the restaurant for a snack... his answer: No, because were werent guests and “ fully booked na yung mga rooms” (... the rooms are fulyl booked)... double DUHH!!!! My husband and I were so frustrated with him so we just started walking towards the lobby... then he tellls us to wait —- under the hot sun— not even escorting us to a chair or room— for someone from management... someone should remind this Hotel what the meaning of HOSPITALITY is... We felt like criminals, with this guard and someone from management tailing us all the way to the lobby.... so i reiterate my first line- if you want to be treated l like a criminal, stay in this Godforsaken place that they call a Hotel , because you can be sure no outsider will be welcome!…
We found tranquility and peace of mind while staying at this beautiful and cozy resort. The staff are all friendly and we were amazed of how good Jonathan from the Housekeeping in decorating our room with different towel designs everyday. Ruby from the concierge was also very helpful and Joedel from the restaurant that serves breakfast was super friendly. We had an absolute fun and relaxing holiday. We can't wait to visit again on our next trip to the Philippines.
Overall rating: 5* (I'm not counting the plumbing/electrical issues we had because the island was just recovering from Typhoon Ursula that hit during Christmas) PROS: - Superb, spacious, comfortable rooms and beds, excellent bathrooms, high quality bidets, accessible, nice modern decor. - Large hotel grounds area with numerous activities and facilities, fitness centre, children's daycare, Sol Marina Beach Club area, the largest pool on Boracay, huge private beach with clear, pristine waters; this is likely the best hotel and one of the biggest on the entire island right now. Ideal for family trips as well as honeymoons. - Excellent breakfast at The Market. Excellent Italian food at Brezza. - First class amenities aside, the best quality I appreciated the most, that made our stay extra enjoyable, was the wonderfully hospitable, courteous, and professional staff: Jessa who checked us in and then later settled my bills, Ces who handled the post-typhoon maintenance issues, compensated and upgraded us, and then the ushering staff at the Welcome Centre, transport personnel and porters, restaurant staff, too many names to remember but I must praise the SUPERB quality of customer service EVERYONE demonstrated. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable! CONS: - Post-typhoon issues affecting connectivity, plumbing, electrical disruption in certain buildings. But they're recovering pretty fast. #Movenpick #Boracay #Philippines #NewYearTrip #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines #SunSeaSand…
