The island is a little bit far from the mainland port, about 1 hour travel if the seas are calm and rough seas can add about 30 more minutes. We went there on the afternoon and the waves were a little bit rough but the boat that took us there was able to navigate with ease

When we arrived we were waited at the airport with the transfer and than we went to the port. After that we took a 50minutes boat ride to the resort. There they waited us with a juice cocktail, life music and a garland for each and every one of us. There are more buildings

Nice, quiet island.....great to relax and just enjoy nature. Pool and grounds were well maintained. The spa was excellent. Food was average (boring) and choices were somewhat limited. We stayed 3 nights and left right around when we were starting to get tired of the food.

Stayed here for 3 nights Pros: - Well maintained island with planned events for a joyous stay - snorkeling, kayaking and a half day beach activity - all included in the price you pay - Had special events (dance, fire show and fire works) during Christmas, which was wonderful -

This island has so much potential to become five star but its deco is still stuck in the 80’s. No locals come to the resort cause of the highly publicised kidnapping back in 2001. Mainly the clientele for Dos Palmas are Taiwense and Chinese. The most current renovation

Is this a good resort for snorkeling off the beach?
You will watch more lives under the sea. So beautiful. Sometimes the wave shakes but the guards follow on the motor launch.

we are 5 in the family considered all adult. can we stay in one room?
I think it's possible to stay in one room. Just ask if there is an additional fee if ever.

Dos Palmas has airport transfers. They'll pick you up from the airport with a van to the port where their own boat is waiting to travel to the island resort. Though you have to take note of the boat schedules. You may check it at their website under the Destination tab. (Dunno why Tripadvisor wont let me post the link huhu) The van driver was kind enough to let us have lunch first at Robinsons before going straight to the port since we still have time left for the next boat scehdule. Tip: Compute the minutes of travel already from the flight to what time you wish to be in the island. So you can plan for a specific time flight or stopovers when coming from the airport. Also, coordating with their staff about the airport transfer is really easy. ☺️
