We stayed there only for one night on our way from El Nido, and we are happy we didn't stay any longer. All we had was problems with the owner (not Philippino, i think he is Australian or something)... He charged us more than we agreed to pay. He claims that he didn't receive our e-mail enquiries about the prices,...

House of Rose is a beautiful hotel and have the loveliest Philippino staff, but the owner proved to be the most dishonest, so I would not recommend this hostel unless you want to pay more than the rate you agreed upon! Indeed, we had to change the date of our stay and emailed the hostel to make sure they understood...

we became friends, Andy and myself, and he's the most relaxed person I've met in Palawan. he has a cool way of moving around as if he attained paradise and doesen't need to hurry anymore and look for it somewhere else. I stayed at house of rose a month, and at night, we sat drinking some rhum-coke, cracking funny jokes...

Stayed for 5 nights. The place is clean, and the owner [Australian], friendly, and has advice on local attractions. The food is fresh and a good menu. Large TV in the bar area. Its a quiet place, with a pool, a good place to relax. Away from the city, but easily commutable. Mike [UK]

The good things about this place? It's fairly chilled out, fairly quiet and fairly friendly. It's not the cleanest place I've stayed in however it doesn't cost much money to stay here. The food was pretty good and they have a bar and free internet that works. It's a bit off the beaten track, but that's why I went there....
