It's a shame it got burned down, I hope they re-build and re-open sometime soon. Place was so calm and chill. Staff was great and the garden was fantastic. A great loss if they don't get it up and running again.

My friend and I stayed here for about 3 nights and we had a pleasant stay. The rooms were clean, albeit a little noisy because of the roosters, but I guess you can't really do anything to prevent that. There is a large decking/bar in the pension which is comfortable and a great way to meet other travellers but also... More

I hope this is not too late and may add as encouragement to the business and family to continue with it despite the place catching fire in late 2014. I love the feel of the place, so close to nature. The common area showcases artworks made of native materials. It encourages travelers to mingle with each other with its tables... More

This is my first review, but I felt the need to make a profile and leave this message because this place was just that great! The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, the price is right, the location is perfect, and the setting is like nothing else I experienced in a 3 month trip through South East Asia. My... More

I decided to go there because somebody recommended this place to me. Honestly it's the first time I'm writing a review in my life but this time I just have to because it's amazing. I traveled a lot in my life and did a lot of hostel, Banwa is one of my favorite. Cheap place, nice staff (open the door... More

We emailed the hostel the morning we flew from Manilla. They reserved the room we wanted for us and sent us back an email. When you get to the airport, walk out to the road and walk right to get a trike coming down the road for 8-10 pesos a piece instead of 50 from the trikes waiting outside the... More

Food was excellent and bar/ restaurant area was a very comfortable relaxed place to spend time. Would definitely reccomend this place to most people. Only issue for me was that people in the dorms didnt tip toe around in the... More

Maybe we were unlucky, as we could only get in the dorm, which was full of mosquitoes and reception had no bug spray. Got eaten to pieces! The weaved walls also don't help when morons are right outside the dorm talking incessant traveller nonsense till 4am. The place itself is lovely, the main area being a nice relaxing space. The... This place is in the middle if town and close to restos and a massage place. The design is rustic and native, with art pieces on the wall. The owner's Mom makes fabulous shell and seed beading on natuve fiber and create such an explosion of colors. The common lounge is welcoming with a bat to order food and drinks.... More

I rely on Trip Advisor when selecting a good but affordable place. Banwa Art House seemed very impressive based on reviews and I’m pleased that I experienced the same delightful service. Cheerful, accommodating staff, clean restrooms, reasonably priced good food, accessible location and fantastic artsy ambience. I came to Palawan for five days without an itinerary and I ‘blame’ the... More

“If you are travelling solo, choose the dormitory rooms so you could save - but you have to use the communal bathrooms and you have to walk across the hall to get there. If you are a family (we were 5 adults, 1 kid and 1 infant), you could get their largest room although you may have to be slightly cramped inside but still comfortable.”
