We spent four amazing days with our six year old son in Bambua. It is located juat a short walk from the beach, next to the jungle. The cottage we had was overlooking the pond and the rice fields. It was clean and free of animals. The food was really good and daily home cooked by the owner‘s son. The entire family works in the resort and are always open for a good conversation or a quick chat. You can book the Underground River and transfers at the reception. Thanks to everyone for those beautiful days. We will be back soon.
We had a beautiful time here. I loved just sitting on the balcony watching the hornbills, kingfishers and monkeys go by. Noah was an absolute gentleman and great to talk to - he and his families hospitality was second to none. The place was truely unique and so was the story of how it came to be. I loved walking around the property in the afternoons and the duck eggs were fresh as they come. Thankyou for having us Noah and family. Our favourite stop in Phillipines. Also go for a hike with Jungle George ~ highlight of our trip. Liam and Benita from Australia.
Never have I come across customer service like it ... the lady at the reception was nice enough when we asked if the generator could be left on so we could sleep at night. The manager an old man came out with an obvious chip on his shoulder and told us we are not travellers and in fact tourists (something he said we’d understand when we are older) absolutely disgusting attitude from the manager. I know what he meant as we have travelled for 2years continuous already but if you pay for a room that’s advertised with a fan it doesn’t matter if your a ‘tourist’ or a ‘traveller’. Don’t misguide people and promote something you clearly cannot provide. A lot of other places in town for affordable prices when you turn up. Would avoid this place shame we pre booked 2 nights and left early the first morning so didn’t see management until later the next evening and too late to move hotel. The shower water is also orange, the bed sheet doesn’t even cover the bed so prepare yourselves to get bitten as the windows slates are broken so mosquitos will get in. Don’t make the same mistake we did lining the pocket of this old miserable dragon. Delayed posting this review as we’d already spent 3weeks in Philippines by this point but wanted to see if anywhere else had this issue, but not a single place turns fans off at night.…
Though it is way cheaper and quite basic, compared to the luxury resorts in Sabang, the true luxury can be found here. Wonderful, peaceful place in a beautiful lush garden and right at the Jungle. Don't expect things like a TV, WiFi or electricity 24/7, but this is so unimportant here. Very nice and eco conscious family that runs the place.
We wanted to stay in Sabang, but all reasonable priced places sounded horrible. In the end we booked here and what a lovely place it was, we stayed in the massive apartment, which was only a couple of dollars more the the cottages. It was massive with a lovely big balcony overlooking the garden and mountain range. Breakfast was very reasonable and the coffee ended up being one of the best in the Philippines. But it helps if you have a German owner. The staff and owners son were absolutely delightful and we can highly recommend this place. 5 stars
