We booked in to Makulay for the final two nights of our trip for some peace and rest before our fight home. It was anything but what we had hoped and what the website suggests. We were checked in to room 4 and were woken up by a pneumatic drill and hammering from construction directly below us before 8am. In...

After spending a night at a horrific hostel in El Nido due to other hotel overbooking, we finally arrived at this little gem! Situated on the beach a little further away from all the town's other hotels, Makulay has amazing views! Room #1 is big & has a balcony overlooking the beach. The bathroom is definitely tired & for sure...

Not sure how other rooms looked so I can only speak to the one we stayed in which was directly above the bar/kitchen. It was cleaned every day with new bedding and clean towels so that was good, but there was a bit of a dingy feel to the room though with what looked like some mold in the ceiling...

Worst place ever! Money paid not worth it. Never stay in this place if you want to have a nice trip. Room does have a nice view, but is that what you only look for when you stay in a place? ofcourse you want atleast an acceptable service, and have value for money. Too expensive and they do not have...

Had the loft, fantastic view, our rooms there were larger than my 2 bdrm 2 bath condo here in Cebu City. 100 steps up to the place but well worth it, Room service for great dinner & breakfast, when I'm in El Nido again that's where I'll be.

A dainty little resort just steps away from the beach, but a bit of a walk when you come from the town proper. The room we stayed in was properly prepared when we arrived, and they cleaned it every day while we were out touring. We had a veranda that provided stunning views. The staff were also very accommodating, particularly...

All of the staff are genuinely friendly and really seem to enjoy their guests. This is clearly seen in their service approach. The attention to detail was impressive - right down to a fresh flower on the pillow on arrival. We had a few meals at the restaurant and they were all delicious. Seafood, steak and breakfasts were all the...

What an amazing stay the place is incredible, best view in El Nido by far. Its rustic romantic and away from the main beach noise and tourist traps. The steps are killer so if you a lazy couple dont book it, also if you cant live without loading social propaganda dont book it either. If your a couple looking for...

We stayed at Makulay Lodge and below are my comments: Location - It's in a quiet location but it's far from the tricycle pickup and dropoff, the tricycle is not able to enter in that area, its about 10 mins walk. Hilltop Room - this is literally 150 steps up and huge steps! We were so tired from the 6...

Spent 9 nights exploring the surrounding area around El-Nido. Just a short walk from the main town and with stunning sunsets this is a great base. The view from the rooms is exceptional and the breakfast and evening very good if you choose to eat here. Some good local musicians make this a great place to watch the sunset. Thank...
