We cannot thank Buko beach resort enough for our stay. It was our honeymoon & the thoughtful card, decorations on the bed & other sweet gestures you made meant so much to us.
The staff are simply wonderful, I apologise that we can't remember all your names but Esmeralda on the front desk was so helpful and couldn't have done more for us. Jake was always a pleasure to see and chat to at meal times, and again couldn't have been more helpful if he tried!
The staff really make Buko the memorable success that it is.
As for the facilities, again perfect! Everything is so clean and well looked after, lovely pool, good food and stunning sunsets can be enjoyed from the pool or bar/restaurant - see the picture attached, NO filter!!
The air conditioning in our room worked perfectly at all times and we didn't get bitten once which is a huge statement as we are both prone to mosquito bites. If you use the plug ins and cream provided, you won't get a single bite!
It's also worth mentioning safety, there is security 24/7 patrolling the grounds (and lovely men they were too!) which was comforting, even though we saw no trouble the entire time we travelled through the Philippines!
Great location too, cheap and quick to get into town and to Vanilla beach.
Thank you so very much Buko, I will sing your praises and encourage everyone I meet headed to El Nido to visit Buko beach Resort! xx

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Buko Beach Resort. It is a very nicely designed small resort, with a very private feel that is great for couples looking for time to themselves. The rooms are nicely designed native-looking bungalows, with a semi-outdoor shower/bathroom area; the beachfront room opens up to spectacular views. The staff is very friendly, and the restaurant has a very good selection of food that will keep you coming back for more. We spent a lot of time just relaxing at the pool, in the daybeds, and at the restaurant which has a great view of El Nido. The sunsets on this beach front resort are some of the best I have ever seen; the scenery is amazing. The manager greeted us with a complimentary champagne bucket since it was our honeymoon, which was very nice of them. There are also a few very friendly beach dogs that frequent the front of the resorts, and since my wife and I love dogs, this was a nice surprise!
Overall, we had a very good experience and would definately consider coming back for another stay.

If you are looking for a peaceful place to clear your thoughts and relax then look no further. If you love the sound of nature around you look no further. Looking for the best sunsets look no further.. The rooms are spacious and rustic with comfortable beds. If you love the outdoor life then this resort is perfect. They provide plenty of products to keep the mosquitoes away. The resort is only 100 peso tricycle ride each way into town if you are wanting to shop or have a meal outside of the resort. We loved the food at the resort along with the best cocktails!! Breakfast was included and we were never disappointed, we pretty much tried everything off the menu.
If you are looking to book a tour then do it through the hotel..ivan hanz is the best. Rexy, Tom and Jerry and of course Captain. We did a private tour and then a group tour. The guys are fantastic and fun the food also amazing. We extended our stay and wish we could have extended longer but due to closures of airports we had no choice but to say goodbye.
The staff kept us updated at all times with airport closures and situations. When you stay here you become a member of the family.
Thank you Esmeralda, stephanie and the rest of the buko family for making our stay so special

We headed out to El Nido for our 4th Wedding Anniversary and we couldn't have chosen a better place. Our goal was to have a nice experience for us and we didn't want a "party vibe" at all. Buko Beach provided that with the assistance of their really wonderful staff.

From the moment I booked it, they got in touch with me and assisted me all the way. They were helpful all the time and their staff is smart and therefore were a joy to talk to.

The food in the bar was good too and the servings were usually bigger than I expected. Try out the fried spring rolls!

The rooms looked far better than in the pictures and taking showers practically outdoors was a treat in itself.

But I have to go back to the staff who were most accommodating and even gave us a bottle of wine for our Anniversary. (Sadly, most of our Buko Beach pictures are in one of our phones that died near the end of the trip and I am not sure if we can still get them). The staff moves fast, always active, attentive, assisting, courteous, friendly, intelligent and always seem to be happy.

We were sad to go and to be honest, we have been thinking of staying even longer if such an arrangement can be done! It was a beautiful experience and one that we will fondly remember.

Buko resort is definitely one of the best places to stay at El Nido. The design and layout of the place is perfect and the sunset view is breathtaking. The cottages are intimate and makes us feel we’re at home in an island. It also accommodates only to a few people giving us a sense of privacy just like at home. They served a hearty breakfast. Good food and portions (serves 2) can basically serve four persons. The cocktails and food menu are exquisite. They had us ordering again and again.

You can just stay in Buko and not even regret touring El Nido. But what made our stay extra special is the very accommodating staff. Everyone’s approachable and very caring. It’s like we were pampared althroughout our stay. We haven’t thanked them enough for letting us have a wonderful stay in the place. Shout out to ms. Esmeralda, ms. Estep, sir Jake, and the whole crew really! Had us smiling the whole stay!

Once you tried out Buko, you will never want to leave or you would always want to come back for me.

We would definitely be staying again in Buko when we come back to El Nido. Deserves 10 stars our of 5!

Our stay was terrific. The Buko team was incredibly accommodating, both ahead of our arrival and once we were here. The service was top-notch. Estephania and the reception team helped us arrange transportation, tours, and a special dinner to celebrate one of our party’s birthday. When we arrived, we found they had also decorated our room especially for his birthday and every member of the staff had signed a birthday card. The restaurant and bar was also excellent. The food was good and the menu diverse. We tried many breakfast, lunch, and dinner options and they were all delicious. The restaurant team, Roseann, PJ, and Rollen, were always very attentive. We stayed in the Sea View Cottages and found them to be cozy, intimate, and clean. The air conditioning worked great and the bedding was comfortable. The cottages were outfitted with every possible means of mosquito repellent, and the outdoor bathrooms were modern, clean, and tranquil. The pool was clean and cool, which we found to be rare considering the hot temperature (we visited in May and the pools at other hotels/resorts we stayed at were very warm). We loved how small the resort was and the gardens were well kept. Despite being close to the road, we didn’t hear much traffic. Overall an amazing stay, and if we ever come back to El Nido we would stay here again.

We came to Buko Beach Resort as honeymooners and the staff did everything to ensure we had the most pleasant stay!

The view from our room (Cottage #1) was a dream. Sunset in particular was incomprehensible! The photos just don't do it justice. We actually wished we had an extra day in El Nido just to spend at the resort.

The room was airconditioned and came with a minibar and other useful things such as mosquito repellant and a mosquito net (very useful).

The food and cocktails were delicious (we highly recommend the Buko Loko), and we could pay for everything via card at the end of our stay which was very convenient as ATMs are very hard to come by in El Nido. We also had our breakfast most days at our cottage so we could enjoy the views but get some privacy.

We booked the resort through an agency so Buko Beach Resort wasn't aware that it was our honeymoon. The day after they found out we were honeymooning, they had redone our room with beautiful decorations and some bubbles to celebrate.

We highly recommend Buko Beach Resort for a romantic getaway, and would gladly come back again with more friends in the future!

Just a bit of background story how we discovered this place.
We had an original booking at another resort which was paid in full a few months back. A few days before our flight, we found out through the airline that the hotel we booked didnt have compliance from the Dept of Tourism to operate due to covid restrictions. We almost cancelled the trip but we inquired Buko resort and Esmeralda took care of our group, no questions asked! We booked the hotel without any expectations; we just wanted to get away from the city. Our first trip outside Manila after more than 10 months of lockdown.

We got to the hotel and it was what we hope it to be! Quaint, quiet, and secluded but has a beach front. The pool is also enough size for lounging. The food is amazing and the rooms are GREAT. And most of all, the staff are very hospitable and attentive to the needs of the guests especially Esmeralda who made things possible!

Will definitely go back next month!
Note to local travellers: make sure your hotels has a Certificate to Operate before booking. If they have none pr tells you its still in process, find another resort!

Beautiful boutique resort and the staff was beyond amazing. I was greeted with a cool washcloth and cold beverage which was some kind of lemonade mixed with calamansi ( a kind of lime (smaller than a key lime) that is cultivated on Palawan). It was possibly the most delicious and refreshing drink I've ever had. I had a little too much fun in the sun my 1st day there and got burned a bit. The staff arranged for an aloe message in my room that evening (1 hour for 1000 Pecos, ( less than $20))
I wouldn't hesitate to go there again

I stayed with the Buko family for 2 months sheltering in place under the best possible conditions. The beach view is amazing with a spectacular sunset literally every night. The bungalows are super comfortable with a unique and local design like I haven't seen anywhere else. I loved the outdoor shower. I came because of the gorgeous pool right on Corong-Corong beach but stayed for the people. Between the staff, manager, owners, and guests/local friends I felt right at home lounging the days away at the pool and enjoying drinks at the bar. I can't imagine there's anywhere more comfortable and welcoming in all of Palawan. Thanks so much for the fun! Can't wait to see you all again 😘

Hi David, Sorry for the late response. As our cottages are adults only (12+), we only occasionally have families in the Grand Villa so haven't had previous requests for baby sitting services. We would need to know your requirements before enquiring locally for a reliable babysitter to visit the resort. The pros and cons of smaller islands versus mainland depend on the type of holiday you are looking for. For more activities and dining options, I would say be based on the mainland and take some island hopping trips by boat, which we can arrange for you. I hope this helps.

Are there other restaurants/ establishments nearby? Is it near the beach? Is wifi and cell service good?
Answer from Paul V
El Nido, Philippines14 contributions
Hi, Yes Buko Beach Resort is on Corong Corong beachfront and there are quite a few restaurants along this beach. More bars and restaurants are in the main El Nido town about 5 minutes/100PhP tricycle ride away. WiFi and Cell coverage in El Nido is improving. However, there are still periods when both are slow or unavailable. We do our best to maintain our WiFi either fast fibre optic or when this is unavailable through slower mobile internet. Regards, Buko Beach Resort
