This is our second time staying at outpost, and it just keeps getting better. Despite the fact that the hostel has just reopened after the pandemic, we were blown away by the quality of the service and the entire experience. The hospitality here is top-notch, and the staff have a way of caring for you as not just a guest, but a friend. We often ate our meals at the hostel as the food is fantastic, and we made sure to hang out at the bar every night to bask in the social atmosphere and savour the bartender’s amazing drinks!

The rooms are clean and comfy, and the location is unparalleled - it is located along corong corong beach which has the most amazing sunsets, and is a stone’s throwaway by tricycle to El Nido town and Las Cabañas (5-10 mins).

Overall, huge props to the hostel for staying alive and thriving despite the pandemic. We really enjoyed our stay. 10/10 would recommend outpost to anyone coming to El Nido for a getaway!

This place is perfectly situated to explore the area. It is close to the main road ( but you can't hear it), it is right on the beach which offers excellent sunsets, has quality meals (try the egg tomato bake for breakfast!) and tries hard to make it a fun upbeat place. The best aspect, however, is the staff. They all try to give the feel of party central during the early evening. They also try to offer quality options when asked where to go and what to do. To mention only two of their staff is not fair to the others, but Bobby from New Orleans and Joe from P'pines gave 100%.

Joined the A+ tour organised through Outpost. We had not long done a 4 day expedition with Big Dream Boatman so we had been spoiled for empty beaches. So this tour was a bit of a shock and disappointment. The places we visited were lovely but very busy. We visited Seven Commandos Beach, Big Lagoon, Shimizu Island, Entalula Island and Payong Payong. Only one spot was good for a snorkel. The rest were all beaches or a kayak excursion. Food was included we hadn’t been feeling well so stayed safe with vegetables and noodles. At the end of the trip on the way back the crew got everyone involved in drinking games. You could buy beers from the crew which kept them in a water cooler. At the hostel we were then given a welcome drink and drank together. Snorkels, mask and life jackets provided.

This bar had a great vibe so we decided to stay and watch the sunset and have a drink before going to dinner. I chose the gin and tonic, which came with ice in it.
Later that night I became extremely ill and considering my partner and I shared our dinner and he was fine it must have been the ice or something in the drink that made me sick.
If you are drinking maybe avoid drinks that come with ice from this bar.

Response from bobbyd419, Manager at Outpost Beach Hostel
Responded Jan 29, 2020
"yes yes yes....it had to be the ice! Of all the things I consumed in this 3rd world village called El Nido, for sure it was the ice!" For the record, our ice is fine. It comes from an ice supplier with a license and all permits and its purified water only in the ice. A lot of people get sick in El Nido and wrongfully accuse establishments. Most cases of sickness in El nido stem from some form of water contamination of the taps. At Outpost we dose our tap water with chlorine and filter it 7 times and also pass it through UV rays to assure safety for when we are washing glasses and dishes etc. It could have been the water at your hotel, the water and or food at your wherever you ate dinner, or from your tour or wherever in El Nido. We take our sanitation seriously here and it wasn't from us, especially from our ice. Regardless, we hope you're feeling better and thanks for checking us out.

I had a great time staying here. The view is great, but the service is phenomenal. Their staff really makes sure that you are having a good time whether during their tours or at night. They are conscious of the time, too so early sleepers can take their rest, but they sure know how to throw a party.
The rooms and comfort rooms are clean and common areas are well taken care of. You can also order food and drinks in the bar below, so you will never have a problem during your stay. Thanks Bobby, Joe, Darren, and everyone!

The Philippines is home to an amazing culture, with beautiful people and beautiful vistas all across the islands. Outpost Beach Hostel is the single best destination that will make your trip to the Philippines worth every penny. The staff is outstanding and will keep your itinerary filled with a bevy of excursions and, of course, vibes that will make your trip memorable.

I first travelled to the Philippines in Q4 2018, after flying around the country for several weeks, I found myself in El-Nido. My intention was to stay in the coastal town for a few days and move on to Coron, I soon found that initial plan was totally unrealistic after staying at outpost my first night in El Nido. Every single member of staff was amazing from the partners to the security guards. To say they were friendly would be cliche and a total understatement, they treated me like family. The boat tours , the parties, the food, the cleanliness, the high quality accommodation the list goes on and on.

There was one eventful night where I drank too much Red Horse and Tanduay, I lost my passport. To make things even worse this was during the Xmas period, the British Embassy was closed which ultimately meant I would be spending Xmas in El Nido. To date this is one of my favourite Xmas’ of all time! Despite being fully booked for the entire period (along with every other hotel in the town) the partners still managed to source accommodation for me on extremely short notice.

Eventful memories, amazing sunsets and even better food. I made lifetime friends during my stay at Outpost, I know they say you should never visit a country more than once but this is a town and hostel I will continue to visit for the rest of my life. I plan to visit there new location in Coron this year and I urge you to do the same!

Visited this hostel in 2018 and got an instant comfy vibe as per minute I entered. Bobby, Teddy, hostel staff in general making sure there is a warm welcome and clear information about the hostel rules. The hostel was packed and i was lucky i made reservations in advance. (Tip: make your bookings in advance!)
They organize boat trips that take you all the way to other stunning little islands and idyllic scenery. all well organized and good food.

The hostel is very clean and the beds sleep well. By day it's a nice place to relax and enjoy your drink by sunset.
I had some nice pre-parties in this hostel. As from 23h everyone goes out of the hostel and it becomes a quit place. Party people out - sleepy people in :)

Resumé of my stay: Great people, great vibes and absolute good place to meet people from all over the world.

Now covid-rules have changed in the Philipines and this hostel is opening it's doors again I would definitely recommend this place and would love to go back!

Keep traveling, stay safe :)

Such a great crowd here and definitely the place to be, especially for beautiful sunsets every night. The staff area so unbelievably friendly, they'll remember your name and make you feel very special. Made some great friends here and was so sad to leave. Highly recommend the South & North Island tours too.

Thanks for such amazing hospitality and fun to all at The Outpost. You made us feel like family and we were quite sad to leave.

Its a party hostel, so expect very loud music in the night. Also the rooms were not clean, i found my new bed with stains and needed to asked to be changed, the door of the dorm is never locked so anyone can go inside anytime (not just the ones sleeping there) so it feels kind of unsecure.
The trips hosted by them are cool and the vibes of the staff is always helpful and nice.
The food was mmmmñhaaa its the Philippines you’re lucky if you found good food.

Hi, Is it possible to go to port & take the ferry from El Nido to Coron in the morning ? from Hostel
Answer from Drew S

Yes, but you need to book the boat a few days in advance...make sure you book speed boat it is a much more comfortable ride, they fill up quickly so I would book departing ticket as soon as you get to El Nido...best case scenario book a flight..worth the added cost
