So we travelled as a family. There is a very small pool which is mainly used for diving instructions . Food at the property was really good. This made it easy as we didn’t have to venture into town to get a variety of food options . Only tricky part is that they don’t let you sign off on your room charges . So at the end of our stay we discovered that we had to pay extra for the breakfast buffet and cappuccinos. Both were not worth the money. Especially the breakfast buffet didn’t suit our taste at all. It was pretty shocking to learn on our departure how much they were charging us for it . We had a room for four but had to beg for four towels etc. This wasn’t very pleasant . But as mentioned, location and food are great so just make sure to know very well in advance what’s included to avoid unhappy surprises upon departure .

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We do appreciate your feedback and always try to improve whenever there is a problem. We had spoken to the housekeeping staff about the towels, and understood from them that you we’re given new towels whenever requested however it seems that here might have been a delay since our housekeeping staff are not here 24 hours per day. They would make sure to get you the fresh towels as soon as they arrived on duty and fresh towels were available. I do apologies for the delay and we will look into a way to make this system more efficient. As far as the final bill. We had given you a price for the room including breakfast on WeChat right from the beginning. It was on the final bill that it was actually separated into room and breakfast charges. The price originally quoted for 4 nights included breakfast for four people. Since you only stayed for three nights we adjusted the bill accordingly. We also deducted one breakfast from this bill because it was included in the company bill which was separate. You might not have noticed but the charge for the three days of breakfasts was also altered because your family did not all have the buffet, so the bill was even less than the original quote to you. So in the end, your stay worked out cheaper than the original quote. Specialty coffees are never included and there is a special coffee menu which lists the prices. I admit that there was a make a mistake in not getting you to sign your bill each time you had ordered anything. This is a standard practice and should be done all of the time and has been addressed to our staff. I hope this clarifies things and we look forward to seeing you back again.

I happened to win 2nd place in the mirrorless category for wide angle photography in Ocean Art 2018 sponsored by Blue Water Travel. My prize was a very generous week's stay with El Galleon Beach Resort & Hotel and diving with Asia Divers in Puerto Galera, Philippines.

I have been to Puerto Galera many times because the diving is so good, but this is the first time I stayed at El Galleon/Asia Divers. It was GREAT! The resort is charming, nicely appointed, extremely clean and comfortable. I was having some trouble with a knee injury prior to my arrival, and Allison Manis/Marketing Manager was able to find me a room close to the restaurant/camera room and diving; thank God for her! She really went out of her way to ensure my stay was perfect.

The resort staff were very friendly, the food AMAZING (thanks, Jamie the head Chef!). The service was spot on and very attentive. There is a nice pool which I never actually used but it looked really inviting.

The diving? Like I said earlier, it's why I continue to return to PG. And if you want to have your mind blown, you MUST take a day trip for diving Verde Island. The colors are vibrant and indescribable, and the sea life so plentiful it's beyond description. I've been to Verde Island before but this trip was the best I've had there. So a big shout out to all the dive guides at Asia Divers for watching over us and bringing us back safely each dive. And a huge congrats to Jamie and Maria on their upcoming nuptials!!!

I would highly recommend El Galleon Beach Resort & Hotel and Asia Divers without hesitation.

Hi, I apologize for my late reply to your wonderful review. Thank you very much for this. It's been quite the time here with a long lock down, but happily to say we are now up and running and hoping to see guests back here soon. I've been seeing some of your amazing images of Puerto Galera and it never ceases to amaze me on how beautiful and diverse the marine life is here. I hope to see you again here!

7 of us from California , Marin Dive Club? stayed 9 nights at El Galleon/Asia Divers.
After planning this trip for 3 years, we were finally able to go to this wonderful resort and dive center. Transport from airport hotel in Manila was flawless, modern vans and our own boat(40 minutes) to their private pier.
Accommodations excellent with SeaView rooms(70ish steps but worth it) with ample balcony, breakfast was included which offered many choices. Delicious lunch and dinner, and we ate a few times in Sabang. All good, mostly Philippine food. Very reasonable excellent massages offered,
The staff were extremely personable and efficient and flexible to our needs.
Asia divers were amazing, we had unlimited diving including night diving which I highly recommend. We were well serviced and pampered, dive guides listened to our requests and pointed out critters. Mostly did our safety stop when someone in group low on air, most dives 45-60 minutes; 8, 10:30, 1:30, 4 and 6. Reefs healthy, special trip to Verde island available and well worth it.
Lovely surroundings and staff, all in all. Long trip from California but would return.

My brother planned this trip. He wanted his best friend's family and myself to join he and his wife for a diving Christmas vacation. Together, there were 8 of us. Eight travelers coming at a couple different times and several modes of travel to consider. The staff, Allison in particular, made sure we were able to navigate our way from an overnight stay in Manila, to the ferry in Batangas, then on to the resort. There were some complications which Allison quickly took care of and I felt very cared for the entire way.
But.....we were there to dive. And dive we did. Complete with a full dive shop, and very professional dive masters and guides, we completed several dives daily. The guides were quick to point out areas that may interest us. Randy went so far as to carefully pick through sea plants looking for microscopic shrimp. We all greatly appreciated all of the dive staff. My every need was met. This is the only dive resort on the beach that has their own dock and I found it helpful not having to slog through the beach. They boast a very organized place to stow your dive gear between dives. Pure perfection!
The restaurant staff are also very cognizant of who needs what and are quick to please. The housekeepers kept my room smelling fresh and clean in spite of the wet swimsuits I had hanging around.
I wish this place wasn't so far to get to (from Seattle) or I would surely come back next year.
Thank you, Alan, and your entire staff for a spectacular vacation. You've got a gem sitting here on the beach.

El Galleon Beach Resort has so much charm and character! We spent 5 days there, diving 4 of them. We had room 1, which was by itself with a view of the ocean. The resort is older, but for us, it just added to the charm. Everything worked, air conditioning, hot water, etc..., so we were quite happy. The bar overlooked the ocean, and had great happy hours! The restaurant was right off the beach, and the food was very good. The beach itself isn't for lounging on, but there was a small pool with lounge chairs (but we did not partake as we were busy diving). There is a town within walking distance, and everyone is very friendly. The local merchants on the beach try hard to have you purchase their wares, but aren't overly aggressive, and again, are very friendly. I would definitely recommend this resort, especially to divers.

EVERY staff member associated with the resort and "Asia Divers" were just the best. They were all constantly friendly, obliging and very polite. If only all the people on this planet were like them.
The resort staff were ensuring that you had all that you required at all times. The food was really nice and plenty of it too.
The dive assistants and guides were truly magnificent in making sure everything was seamless. Not once did I have to handle a scuba tank. I've never had such impeccable service when diving. A really nice touch was the handing out of HOT face washers after getting back onto the boat after the dive.

I'd definitely stay there again without hesitation and a BIG "Thank you" to everyone.

We very much enjoyed our week staying at the El Galleon Dive Resort and diving with Asia Divers. The resort is very nice and our hillside, sea-view room was very comfortable (our room was only about 30 steps up the hillside, some rooms were much further up the hill than ours). The resort staff were extremely friendly and provided excellent service. The dive operation was very well run, and we thoroughly enjoyed our extremely friendly and knowledgeable Dive Master Pete Eaton and boat Captain Francis who took us to some lovely dive sites. When we returned to the resort dock after each dive, Warren (dive operation staff) took special care of both of us, handling our dive gear, weights, and camera equipment both to and from the dive boat!! His help was much appreciated as we are now of a certain (senior) age. Most of the dive sites are fairly close to the resort, so we were able to spend our surface intervals in the restaurant snacking on teas and baked goods between dives. The Point Bar was a favorite hangout for happy hour drinks before dinner. We also enjoyed the sweet women selling beautiful hand-woven baskets on the beach in front of the resort. We couldn't resist their charms or their wares!! All in all, we had a wonderful time!

I stayed a week as part of a scuba diving holiday and the two x daytrips to Verde Island were the highlight for diving. The diving around Puerto Galera was good, with a wide variety of marine life, but I think we were there at the wrong time of year as visibility wasn’t the greatest (overcast most days) and I didn’t see a single shark (maybe they’ve all been turned into shark fin soup?). Dive crew and guides were very friendly and helpful (shout out to Maria for being awesome at all times). The resort is clean, pleasant and well kept, plus I was happy with my room: Sea-View room with balcony, bathroom / wc and walk-in closet with safe. If you are elderly or very unfit, I wouldn’t recommend the Sea-View room due to the 70 or so steps you must climb. The staff were friendly, helpful and usually efficient…if you need something just ask. The buffet meals were very good and there are two bars: one inside the resort and the other (Point Bar) above the dive shop…cocktails are definitely worth a try and happy hour can be dangerous! Sabang town is about a 10 minute walk away along the waterfront (paths under construction, so a bit dicey) and the nightlife is a lot of fun…I found the town to be safe and never had a problem with my personal safety / security.

This was the first time that I had an out-of-town trip that is for leisure during the pandemic. My friend invited me to join him on a vacation for 3 days and 2 nights. I did not hesitate even though there are difficulties in processing our documents due to the restrictions posed by the authorities due to the pandemic.

The resort manager was very helpful in assisting me to comply with the requirements. During our trip, I only need to submit a picture of my vaccination card, valid ID, and hotel booking confirmation for me to have access to travel. The process was smooth. You just need to follow the protocols and processes posed by the authorities.

Anyway, the trip was great! We had a chance to enjoy the food and the beach. The hotel was clean. All staff are helpful and accommodating. I am hoping that I can still have a chance to visit the resort soon.

Good job to all the men and women of the resort.

I’ve just spent 10 days at El Galleon diving with friends. I can’t say enough positive things about this resort. The rooms are comfortable and cleaned with care. The food is delicious and plentiful. We chose the full board option which made it so convenient to plan meals around dive times. Asia divers is one of the best dive operations I’ve experienced. They have a focus on safety and customer satisfaction. From the first day when we dropped off our dive gear until the last day of diving, our equipment was taken care of, tanks were set up between dives and all we had to do was have fun! The diversity of marine life in Puerto Galera is extraordinary. From thresher sharks to mimic octopuses, we saw so much. Finally, a shout out to Allison who took such good care of us. This resort has it all. Don’t hesitate to plan a dive vacation here.

El Galleon is where Asia Divers business is, a scuba training and PADI diving certification resort. I am familiar only with the shore diving site where they do the open-water scuba training. All other diving sites are a little further, varies between 20 min to an hour boat ride. Cannot include links in the response, but search Sabang dive sites or, Puerto Galera dive sites

Hello Paul, We booked breakfast only, but you can also book 'full board'. There meals are not very expensive, and there is good choice in as well small menue, as in diner; You should count on approximately 3 hours to get there from Manilla. Nowadays, they have a good highway, and there is another half hour needed to cross the bay, if the weather is calm.
