We have stayed at several more expensive and more luxurious resorts in Jogja but found Gallery Prawirotaman as the best value. Rates are lower than other hotels and yet you get a decent room, good service and breakfast. Yes, there is wear and tear visible and not all is perfect but it's all to be seen in consideration to the rate you pay. Rooms are functional and hot water, AC, etc. is all working well. Small detail but this is one of the very view hotels in this world which got the curtain installation right so you can properly darken your room. Only point of complaint would be the wifi strength which could be better and the flush of the toilets (need to flush several times until tissues disappear). Suggestions to the management: take out from the rooms the single sofa and the round table coming with it. This is a complete waste of space considering the room size and I cannot imagine many guests are using this. There is already a proper desk and chair and nice balcony furniture. And a nicer trashbin in the bathroom would be a small but upgrading touch (the one in the bedroom is very nice). We have a new rain shower in our room which shows that management cares that things are working properly. Plenty of 5 star luxury hotels we stayed have rain showers full of limescale. Must try the spa. Even though location is a bit weird on the incomplete roof top. The therapist Ita is superb. Extremely friendly and professional. Thank you so much! Also Diky and Nunung working in the F&B service are super professional. So nice to see Diky working so efficiently (quite rare in Jogja ;-). Well done all three of them. They all deserve to be acknowledged by management.

We had a lovely stay. The highlight was the kind and friendly staff, who always wore a smile and were happy to help. The breakfast was also very nice, having good variety and changing day to day.
We also enjoyed a very nice tour from Yogyakarta to Borobudur and Prambanan Temples, with the driver arranged by the hotel for an affordable price. Our driver Dwi was very accommodating, ensure we got a peaceful sleep when we needed some rest, but always being available when we had questions. The drive was very smooth, with cool aircon, comfortable seats, and Dwi even provided us with chilled water from the ice cooler to keep us hydrated.
A very nice overall experience, though something to note is the hotel’s close proximity to the mosque - if you are not used to it, the prayer volume may be quite loud for foreigners.

I recently had a great stay at this hotel. The pool was absolutely a highlight: clean, spacious and perfect for relaxing. The area around the pool is well cared for, and there were more than enough sunbeds available, so it never felt overcrowded.

Hotel was updated, clean, spacious, and well-located. Perfect home base for exploring Yogya for a few days. The neighborhood it’s in has lots of restaurants, convenience stores, ATMs etc within a few minute walk.
Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful with everything from airport transfers to laundry.
They helped us set up a full-day driver through the hotel to tour the temples. Mudi was our driver and whisked us from site to site very efficiently, also walking us directly to the entrance of each site and navigate what is otherwise a confusing check in process. And he even took us to a great fruit stand on the way back to the hotel when my girlfriend mentioned offhand that she was craving some fresh dragonfruit. The full day car service was barely more expensive than it would’ve been negotiating with a driver from Grab, and it was so great to be in a nicer car and not have to worry about anything.
Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting yogya!
