I had a comfortable weekend here. stayed 2 nights with my fams. There are lots of restaurants & cafe (local & western food) near by, and quite near from jogja' icon like taman sari and the palace. The villa has an overall mix of javanese and modern vibes to it. Instagrammable ofcourse! Would love to go back ❤️

I stayed (unfortunately) only for a night and the place was amazing. While being near around many places to visit in Yogyakarta, it was in quite neighborhood. The staffs were really helpful and the owner was so kind. I’d love to stay here if I have another chance to visit Yogya, and hope this time longer than before.

We stayed in the villa for 5 nights and the kids enjoyed the stay throughout. Good service, good location and affordable. Mbak Wilda, Mas Adit and Mas Henju were ever so helpful and friendly. It is strategically located and convenient. Restaurants, Alfa Mart, and other provisions are within walking distance. I strongly recommend the villa for those travelling with family and small kids. The only drawback is that there is no doors to the toilet and showroom. The villa is very well kept, clean and the utensils are useable. In a nut shell, my family had enjoyed our stay at the villa and we will be back next year Insyaallah.

We thought renting a villa with a pool for the whole family in Yogyakarta would be a good idea. Indeed, it is. But not this one if you fancy a little bit of charm, cosiness and service because you will have none of those things.
The place is clean and this is the only positive thing. It is right in the middle of a maze of small and packed and noisy houses (people live outside, meet outside, watch TV outside) and you have no service at all (not even a small soap in the bathroom).
Rooms are of decent size but with no real effort for any kind of layout (white light thanks to energy saving bulbs !).
Swimming pool was out of order the first day (green water with algae) and although the person in charge tried his best, this is not the kind of water you want your kids in.
Not a very good pick !

Response from VillaYogyakarta, Owner at Villa Pondok Terra
Responded Aug 29, 2012
Providing high value for our guests is our mission and we are truly sorry to hear that we could not meet your expectations. We will change our lights to the original soft tone bulbs and soap should have been available in our villa's (standard service), and I am sure that our personnel would have been very much willing to help this provide to you. Your visit coincided with the end of the Ramadan with intense local community activities and festivities which explains the more than usual noise around our villa's (normally it is actually really quiet). Our location in a city kampung in the middle of the historic center of Yogyakarta is actually experienced by many of our guests as a major advantage as it allows a good grasp of authentic local Indonesian life, while all touristic needs (shops, supermarkets, good local/international restaurants, ATMs etc.) are on walking distance. However, my sincere apologies for the quality of the water of the swimming pool on your first day of arrival and I fully agree that this situation was not acceptable. As you mention our villa's are very clean and we really always do our utmost best to offer our guests a clean swimmingpool (we clean the water at least twice a week). Unfortunately during the week of the Ramadan festivities we ran out of swimming pool cleaner, while none of our suppliers could be reached. Although you may not have been aware of all our attempts in the back scene to resolve this (we reached out to other suppliers, hotels, even outside Yogyakarta) we have really tried everything to resolve this situation as soon as possible for you. Unfortunately your overall low score will bring us back to the middle range of hotels in Yogyakarta which is hard to accept after the past 2 years of tremendous efforts and investments to offer our guests a high quality holiday experience (as witnessed by almost all reviews). However, we also realize that this is part of the game and operating as a small scale self-owned villa resort, we will continue to strive to optimal guest experience and further improve our services and we will try our utmost best to regain our status in the top 5 ranks of Yogyakarta hotels on Tripadvisor.....

We stayed in the Silver Villa, which has its own pool, a bathtub, a double bed, breakfast on the porch, all the works.

Like other reviewers, I found Endah's communications before I arrived prompt and helpful. I was a little unsure if the Silver and Gold Villas shared a pool, as the pictures don't quite make that clear. In fact, the Silver and Gold have separate fenced-in yards; it's all very private.

We stayed for only a few nights, on a trip around Indonesia. Twice we woke up before or at the call to prayer, so that wasn't a problem for us. They say they provide earplugs, but we didn't take advantage of those. The villas are all situated in a residential neighborhood, so you get to meet the neighbors on a walk to the bigger streets.

We had nary a problem, and very much enjoyed our stay.

Two comments might better guide potential guests. First, we booked a temples trip though Rumah Guides, and very much enjoyed our guide. I asked one of the staff at Pondok Terra for a quote on a same trip, and he perhaps misunderstood me and quoted a much higher price for a generic half-day car and driver. Second, we ordered from ViaVia (delivery) and the next night went to Kedai Kebun (which is probably the closest restaurant by walking distance; just turn at Mr. Wash) and enjoyed it much more than we did ViaVia. Just be sure to ask for very spicy food.

It was our first time to Yogyakarta and we picked Villa Pondok Terra because it is the only villa resort in central Yogyakarta and we heard positive stories. We spent 4 nights in the Diamond Villa and we loved our stay there throughout.

What we like about Villa Pondok Terra: good location as it is 10 minutes walking to the Kraton and only a 7 min car ride away from the central street Jalan Mallioboro. The staff are very friendly and warm in their service. As this is a small villa resort with only 4 villa's its not crowded with other guests, in fact the place gives a cosy and homely feel. Generous room space and beds were very comfortable. Shampoo and shower gel provided. While we had all the time to catch the world cup at night...since we were on holidays, in the end we gave priority to our sleep and although there was some noise from the mosques, it was quite peaceful and we were able to pamper ourselves with good sleep. The villa is surrounded by some greenery which is pleasant to the eyes and we really enjoyed our own private swimming pool. There were some great restaurants on walking distance, Italian, mediterian and a couple of really good Indonesian restaurants, just on 3-10 minutes walking distance from our villa. The personnel was really nice to our children and made our stay in the villa special and perhaps personal and less commercial.

We would also like to thank the staff for making our stay a wonderful and memorable one. Thank you for your hospitality and your warm smiles. Terima kesih :)

Villa Pondok Terra is a place which we would recommend to all and also we hope to be back some day.

This was our first trip to Indonesia and we really loved it! Especially our stay at Villa Pondok Terra was a real treat. The villa had everything we needed after a day of exploring the city: space, comfort and a splendid private swimmingpool, the perfect ingredients to relax.... Two things especially stood out compared to other villa's and hotels we visited: The location and personnel. The location is fantastic, right in the middle of a touristic area with a choice of good restaurants, supermarkets, travel agencys on only minutes walking distance. Yet the villa was very quiet and a very welcome hideway to relax. We have stayed at several other villa's but although nice these were always far from the hustling city life and it was generally difficult to get a taxi or transport to city areas. Villa Pondok Terra made a difference! The other thing we really enjoyed was the personnel. The were very helpful, even walking us up to the restaurant area, helping us out with our many requests and even helped us with the arrangement of a very nice dinner in our villa! A place well recommended and we will surely come back :)

We had a wonderful time during our 8 days in Yogya. There is so much to do/visit but our 3 kids didn't mind to visit again another temple because they knew that after a busy day arriving back at Pondok Terra was a real treat with access to a private swimming pool and free wifi.
Staff is very helpful and friendly. Always ready to call some becaks, arrange a driver, serve breakfast....
Linen and towels were changed after 4 nights but they would do it whenever asked.
Kitchen is fully equipped and there even is a water dispenser with complementary drinking water available.
The free pick-up service from the airport is also very convenient.

We stayed in the Diamond villa for a week. It was a haven of tranquility (apart from all the muezzin competing over badly amplified sound systems at 4am followed by all the roosters) but we got used to it The villa is located in a kampung in the middle of nowhere - but then there doesnt't seem to be a 'somewhere in Yogyakarta. It close to a large supermarket, local traditional market, a plethora of traditional warungs and a short walk from a more touristy cafe scene. The Kraton (Sultan's palace) is a hot 30 minute stroll away( or 10 mins by local pecak ride).
The villa is spacious, reasonably well appointed - has a huge double shower, basin - area, good kitchen( though rather sparsely equipped) and a lovely big pool and outdoor area. Staff are very friendly and accommodating and can arrange drivers to all places, egBorobudur- and Prambayan Temple.
This isn't luxury living but it is very comfortable and we found it amazingly liberating and relaxing.
The only criticism is that they don't accept credit cards so trying to get enough cash out on our last night was something of a trial. Oh and there's a lack of mirrors . The only mirror is high over the basin area . For short(ish) people this was a disadvantage. Then again, Yogya isn't fashion central so who cares how you look.

This villa was really as what we have expected. It has a private pool and very closed to the Palace. Also near cullinary areas. We could easily order the best food in town by using online provider. Overall we really satisfied staying at this villa and we would like to stay again in the future. We really recommend this vila. Big thanks to Ms. Enda (the very supportive owner)!

Wow, fantastic review and we are proud of our central location and really happy to hear you have made full use of our location. The Sultan Palace is indeed very close and probably one of the cultural highlights of the city center. I also like your initiative to order food through one of the online providers. This is indeed a hype nowadays and offers the opportunity to have all your meals in the privacy of your own villa and I would recommend this to all our guests, although some of the best restaurants on just a few minutes walking distance. Hope to welcome you again soon and thanks again!
