Basic, but clean rooms. The hotel is an interesting, historic building. Just 100 metres away from the local train station and one stop to the main Jakarta (Gambir) train station for inter-city trains. Breakfast was quite good and reasonably priced. However, the local area is not desirable at night.
This charming hotel is next to the Masjid Istiqlal, the largest masjid in Southeast Asia. From our room we had a perfect view of the masjid. We think it was room 22, but check when booking if you would like a view of this very modern-looking but imposing masjid.
Stayed for one night during Eid holiday as the location is very close to Istiqlal Mosque. It was an old hotel but the room is nice and clean with the vintage nuances. The staffs are friendly. It's only takes 5 minutes walking to get to the free shuttle bus which will take you to Monas and other great destination.
Tried to call at 7 pm asking about if there were any rooms available for a gathering event 75-100 pax, but the receptionist wasnt in the mood and was pissed, not showing much of a help. Well to be fair it is understandable, considering the time i called him. However, for a hotel's SOP to not act friendly in whatever the situation may be, whether its 10am or 1am in the morning, you ought to be at least friendly. Shame on him for losing a potential customer
Very well maintained colonial Dutch hotel. Even though some part of the hotel was not totally clean, but to me it was still acceptable due to the hotel age. But there is still a room for improvement in future. The only thing I would like to highlight is the room carpet was not properly vacuum by the housekeeping and the toilet. IF the housekeeping put some more effort to thoroughly clean the room, it will be nicely, neat and tidy. Restaurant was clean but the variety of food is very less. It’s not worth of penny paying to walk-in and have a breakfast in this hotel restaurant. Location was close to Indonesia National Monument, the Monas and just 5 minutes walk to the Istiqlal Mosque. The biggest mosques in Jakarta. Overall, I would say this hotel is still a good hotel to stay with reasonable price. …
