During our time in Indonesia we stayed at a few different hotels in Jakarta - all highly rated. This was by far the best. Location was great and property is will maintained. For us, it really comes down to service and the service here was AMAZING! From the time we checked in, Indira made us feel right at home - got us set up with a spa reservation, set us up to contact the hotel directly via WhatsApp and more. At checkout Dodi had a gift waiting for us with a handwritten card thanking us for our stay - along with a handmade photo frame with photos of my partner and I. It was the most above and beyond gesture I've ever received at a hotel. I'd stay here again without hesitation. My only regret is that we didn't stay here longer!
AmazIng service in all Aspects. Also bed and pillows comfortable. Good sized room. Excellent walk in shower. Good room service menu. Excellent location. Mini bar empty. Evidently only filled on request. Would b nice to have more English channels on TV.
Overall, I would suggest not to choose Mandarin in Jakarta. Let me start saying that hotel staff has always been super nice with me. However, there are 5 key reasons why I would suggest to avoid this place. Firstly, due to the poor isolation, my room (facing the main road) was incredibly noisy. One day, due to an illegal motorbike race down the road, my smartphone repeatedly measured a noise level inside the room above 80db between 2am and 4am: it was just impossible to sleep! I know that an illegal motorbike race is independent from hotel willingness. Anyway, even at normal times, the room was too noisy at night: my phone constantly measured noise above the 40/50db limit prescribed by World Health Organization. A 5 star hotel simply cannot host its guests in such noisy rooms. They should improve their isolation and stop selling road-facing rooms in the meanwhile. Full stop. Secondly, in terms of design and services, I found Mandarin quite below the standard of its neighbouring peers I previously visited in South Jakarta (Grand Hyatt, Ayana, Pullman, Ritz…). The impression is that this Mandarin is quite old. Also, it is probably too small to offer typical 5 star hotel services. E.g. there is no open air bar, the buffet dinner from the main restaurant is simply not provided if they do not have enough bookings, etc… Thirdly, I have been facing few minor issues. Phones in my room started ringing at night, due to a malfunctioning. Also, the “do not disturb” button was not working properly in my room, so that one day I found my room was not services. These minor issues can happen, but a good hotel should respond to them properly once they are reported. Vice versa, my phone had the very same issue also the next day, after the problem was already reported. Moreover, when my room wasn’t cleaned, I asked for a refill of soap and drinking water, and after about 20 min these were still not delivered. How is this even possible? Fourthly, they have issues with aeration system. If you leave aircon on (even at the maximum temperature) room becomes really cold. If you turn it off, room becomes smelly, and it still remains too cold, as some cold air still arrives. The bed smell inside the room and the inability to fully regulate the temperature are definitely not a pleasure! Finally, the front desk assistance via Whatsapp (which could be a very cool idea) is not working properly! Every time you contact them, even after few minutes from the previous time, it seems they don’t know who you are and what are your open issues/requests, so that you have to repeat the story from the beginning. Furthermore, they are extremely slow to revert even on very basic questions, while the essence of a chat should be the quick turnaround time. Overall, this chat experience is quite bad, as it seems it is managed remotely and completely disconnected from the hotel front office. This was my experience at Mandarin Jakarta. After such an experience, I had to request twice before the hotel management very kindly accepted to host me one more night as a compensation. Considering that the previous night I couldn’t sleep till 4am due to the motorbike race noise, I believe that a free night should have been offered immediately and not just upon my repeated request… it would have been the bare minimum! Overall, for the above mentioned 5 reasons, I would try to avoid this place next time I come to Jak. Still, I want to thank the very nice staff. If not for you, this experience would have been even worst! Thank you <3…
Nice rooms and super location. All staff was professional and friendly and made me feel welcomed. In general up to the level expected from a Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Special mention to Ms. Hanna from guest relations that was super professional and efficient and helped me with every request I had.
Excellent room service, as usual. Amazing experience! The staff is helpful and friendly-room with a direct view of Bundaran HI, a famous landmark in Jakarta. Delicious tasty Chinese cuisine at Li Feng. A must-stay hotel in Jakarta, just 5 minutes away from Grand Indonesia and Plaza Indonesia shopping complex.
Stay for 10 days for quarantine package (a bit late for giving review). Room: Very clean. Room has been sterilized and sealed before we come. Very nice room view. I got the landmark view Staff: very helpfull and friendly. Check in arranged very good and pcr before we enter the room. Food: Good but not excellent. After 3 days you feel a bit bored with the menu. There are some selection on the package but you will have tried them all after 4 days and feel boring. I am fan of asian food anyway. The fruit and salad during the dinner a bit sour. It seems not fresh cut/ left not on the fridge. Suggestion: more variety on the menu will be excellent especially after 3 days inside the room. If it can provide like chicken porridge, fried noodles and any other chinese variety will be good as this is mandarin hotel. Thank you.…
Very warm hospitality from all MO staffs and great arrangement of the birthday dinner at Lyon. Food was delicious. Complimentary room was awesome with cute decoration. The birthday girl was very happy. Thank you MO!

I spend several days at Mandarin Oriental, and I highly recommend this hotel for the service provided. There is everything you need (3 restaurants, swimming pool, gym, nice room service...) and the location is perfect. This hotel make everyday special. Anne is always here to guide you and answer any questions. She provide everything you need at any time, day and night. She was one of my secret angels, with Hanna, during these few days. Special thanks to Hanna for the birthday surprise (and Indira / Anne for the frame) . The Housekeeping service is personalised depending on your demand (thanks to Reza for the little towel dog on the bed). Mira helped me a lot with the organisation of events/cocktails in the building, she took care of every aspects for me(food, drinks set up,...). It would be too long to thank everybody, but the whole team is awesome. Special thanks to Heru, Haris, Carina, Chef Raymond, Gita, Ria, Mala, Farhan and Vivi for the hard work they have done for me.…
Understand what I need, great food (breakfast, lunch and dinner), great view, love to stay. House keeping will provide a sajada, when they know your are moslem. The will place a bottle of water in a place where we put that in first day stay (they learn from our habit. They are helpful, know our name when they come to help us.
