The hotel is situated at a good location close to the center, temple and walking distance from the Potala Palace. The rooms can use an update. The wall outlets didn’t work for the power plug for smartphone... Carpet was clearly not vacuum cleaned for a while as all dirt remaining on the surface. Breakfast in the Dunya restaurant is so, so....

Here is my review on Yak Hotel: - Staying the first 2 nights and also the last 2 nights with reasonable room and of coz it is not perfect and the best but personally it is OK as per understanding of Tibet standard and also the budget option. I was given a 4 single bedroom as I choose dormitory option for the tour but I still occupy the room by myself even thou it is weird on the room dormitory as it provide the room key and I can lock the room door. Considering the budget option and my expectation of budget is even lower standard. Hotel Environment: Hotel look new and it is just opposite the street to Johkang temple with good choice of fast food and local food. The buffet breakfast at the hotel is basic and the shared bathroom is not sharing concept but only 1 person bath or

We stayed there twice on our Tibet tour. Great location in old Lhasa within walking distance of everything of interest in town. Both times when we checked out they tried to change us for lost or used goods. Perhaps take photos of towels and mini bar on check in and make sure it looks the same on check out to avoid issues.

First of all, rooms are warm, because of heated floors. it’s very important if you visit Tibet in autumn. Rooms are clean and big, especially king size bed. Water is always hot (also important for Tibet)! Location is very convenient- right near Barkhor and Jokhang Temple. Potala is in 25 minutes walk. You can always flag a taxi on the street no problem, there are a lot of restaurants and stores around. There are incredibly nice Dunya restaurant and bar right in hotel. There you can have a nice European breakfast with omelets and real COFFEE from COFFEE MACHINE!!! It’s rare treasure in Tibet. If you need a tourist guide, there is a tourist center in hotel. Yak hotel would be a nice choice to spend your nights in Lhasa.

We didnt spend a lot of time in hotel, because we were busy exploring Lhasa. Location is very good, can walk to Jokhang, Potala, supermarkets, many good restaurants. Breakfast was good, with several selections. We always had working wifi. It is a simple hotel, but everything worked. No complaints.

Stayed for 7 nights, found it comfortable, clean, warm in January. Hot water was available 24 hrs, wi-fi was excellent. My room was at the back of the hotel, so didn't have any problems with noise, etc. It was a non-smoking room, too, so no bad smells either. Breakfast wasn't available during my stay, but I had many great options to explore in the tiny Tibetan restaurants around the hotel. The staff was eager to clean and change towels every day, which really wasn't necessary. Location is best, as the hotel is a couple of minutes walk to Barkhor square, Ramoche temple, etc. and an easy walk to Potala. There are many convenience stores and small shops around for fruit, snacks, etc. and if you happen to need a mall, there is one very close on Beijing road with a huge supermarket.

Hotel is close to bakhor market, potala palace, jokhang temple, small restaurants and shops everywhere and even walking distance to the supermarket. The only problem was.. they do not have elevators! We were struggling in carrying our luggages when we arrived and checked out too. Breakfast is okay and so are the rooms. The staff could hardly speak English but are friendly and polite so a simple hand gesture to communicate will help.

I bought 4 days tours in Tibet and for my surprise they put me sharing a room with someone. As I got into the room, start sneezing. clogged nose. Bath curtain full of mold. Reception barely knows English. NIGHTMARE

The hotel is located on the main road, there is some noise depending what room you are in. Our room did smell quite strongly, but once inside, you got used to it. Breakfasts were good but could be a bit busy at times. Good selection of foods, cereal, bread, and the obligatory noodles, rice and curried potato. Plenty of fresh fruit and peanuts.

So nice to people watch from the 2nd floor of the restaurant hotel Dunya. Hotel service is good. We didn’t like our first room and they promptly moved us to another room that we liked. Room is nice and clean. I’m happy to see a clean bathroom w/ hot running water. Close proximity to Bakhor market, jokhang temple, and patala palace.
