The Lhasa Yak is an older hotel within the city center. It is dated and yet retains a certain charm. I was somewhat disappointed with the lack of effort on the staff to accommodate even the simplest of tasks such as a hard copy print of my Tibet Permit of which I felt was important to have while roaming the... The location is very good, in the centre of the old part of Lhasa, just a few minutes’ walk from Jokhang. It’s on a main road, but my room faced inwards to the courtyard, and there was little noise. The building is in reasonable shape. There’s no lift. My room was cosy and clean, decorated in Tibetan style. The bed... More

A friendly hotel with good wifi. Breakfast was included in the restaurant next door. Rooms were clean and comfy. A great location to explore Lhasa, nothing seemed too far away. We stayed there on two separate occasions with our tour. . . . . . .

It's prety basic ,room is very small , bathroom even smaller , but relatively dotated ,flat tv , water cola and beer in the room for a price , slight undefinite scent . The hotel does not have an elevator so considering the altitude it might be a nag . Location wise is prety good in the old city on... More

We were on second floor rm #8210 facing the Beijing rd. We opted not to take the third bed, husband and I shared a double bed and my 16 yr old the other, these rooms are larger than the ones facing the courtyard. Bathroom water pressure and hot water was both good! Breakfast at 5th floor has a great view... More

So the first 3 nights I was in room 6301, which I thought, wow much better than I expected. It was spacious with a king bed (though hard), clean linens, warm comforter, clean bathroom, plenty of outlets for charging. Negatives: smoke smell, no AC. And with windows open because no AC, it's very loud: 630am birds, annoying kids running round... More

I had several days in two rooms of the Yak Hotel. It was so centrally located to the Palace, temples, shops and supermarket but very quiet. It was a comfort to come back to the ambiance of my room and bath facilities. Staff were helpful and friendly. Restaurant next door served great buffet breakfasts with my booking and they had... The hotel is a little bit old. Rooms are ok and clean. Unfortunately just a few guys of the staff are speaking English. Breakfast includes tea, coffee, fried eggs, toast and some Chinese dishes. It's quite close to the Old Town.
