its the go to place for many tours to lhasa and beyond for simple reason that it is cheap, traditional and extremely well located. that said most of the critiques are well justified in that it is pretty run down even by tibetan standards. the carpets are beyond description, it is deathly cold, and the breakfast is adequate but often...

Location is nice- maybe a km walking from Potala and near Jokhang. Facilities are basic- maybe 3* by North American standards. Stayed in the annex and got different rooms- the 2nd being better/cleaner though both seemed to be same categ (so, if a room is not up to par, might be worth asking to check another room) The breakfast buffet...

Stayed here with a dozen or so friends on a motorcycle tour through China. I guess first off, at least from my experience, once you leave the pacific coast of China what you can expect in the way of creature comforts drops considerably. I have this hotel a 4 which I would not have done in say Europe or Moscow....

I stayed in this hotel for couple of nights as part of a tour in Tibet. The location is great about 30min straight walk to Potala Palace and about 10min to Bakhor street where you will find most of restaurants. Also I always felt safe even walking at night. At the right of the hotel you will have an ATM...

This hotel was part of my tour in Tibet and was booked directly by the tour agency. It’s advertised as 4 stars, but it’s more likely to be a 3-star property based on Western standards. I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights in total, of which 3 nights were in room 8**** and the last two in room 6****...

November rooms are cold, no heaters. Had to bring a sleeping bag with me if I knew. Breakfasts are simple and good. Rooms are quiet. Great wi-fi near the reception, weak wifi in the room. Wonderful mountains view from the window. Reception staff is friendly. Lots of shops around.

Hotel pretty old, but all functioned as required. Except that the room does not come with heater, which I'd think a 3-star hotel should have?? Luckily I brought my sleeping bag. Front desk service not consistent. Some days are friendly, some days they just "don't bother". Buffet breakfast is good with plenty of choices. Good location, along the old streets...

This hotel is only a short walk from the Tibetan quarter, near lots of important sights as well as restaurants. And that's the most important aspect of a Lhasa hotel, right? Some of the friendly staff speaks some English. The rooms are nicely furnished. Internet works as well as anywhere in China. The bathrooms have an elaborate shower fixture with eight...

Our tour agency booked this hotel for us to acclimatize for 3 days before heading to Everest Base Camp. The state of the hotel was actually better than expected; I was expecting guest house style. Nonetheless, it was a comfortable stay. I am not sure for all rooms, however, the air-conditioning or fan in my room didn't seem to be...

Spent 4 nights. They have the hardest bests known to mankind. The rooms have the fanciest and hottest showers i have ever seen in a 3 star hotel. There was no heating in late October when i was there so undressing was only done just before the shower or going to bed. The covers did manage to warm you up...
