Booked a standard room which was in Old Minguo building (no elevator). Room is quite small, just ok for night rest. Hotel is well located in the city centre, walkable distance from Xuanwuhu lake/park entrance wall. Check-in was hassle free as receptionist speak English.

The luxury room is up to standard and even has a larger refrigerator. Do not expect to receive CNN, FOX or BBC. There is one station in English: Asianews. Very interesting however. The staff is always ready to help. If language problems arise, use a dictionary. The food is very good. The choice of 'Western style' is limited. Chinese food...

My first experience of accommodation in China. The checkin/out process was seamless because it was done by our hosts. Rooms were large, clean and comfortable. A few challenges with language, but staff try their best for us westerners who know no Chinese. The internet was slow and patchy, and access to some sites is blocked behind the GWC. If you...

Original hotel built in 1930 used almost exclusively for meetings, new tower used for guests. In the USA this would be a 3 star at best. The staff speaks very little English, the bellman did not even offer to take my luggage to my room, the room wrenched of smoke (even though I had a non-smoking room reserved), the wifi...

The amenities are OK and acceptable. The hotel wifi signal in my room was inadequate and hardly able to be...

Stayed at YishiYuan on two separate occasions during the busy Chinese New Year 2014 period in Nanjing. We stayed in the new part of the hotel only, so I know nothing about the older building. Both rooms were excellent in size, more than spacious enough for 2. The rooms were clean, quiet and didn't smell of smoke. The robes and...

We asked for an upgrade in which we would pay for a better room with two beds also, they said no more rooms were available.... But we saw that there were many rooms available. They said they were fully booked out.... Reception are full of lies in my opinion. Is ok value, but not keen on the lies...
